We leave tomorrow for a trade to Williamsburg, VA. We are staying at the Marriott Fords Colony. I hope we have good weather and a great time. I will post when I get home and let you all know how it was.

just remember that everything is far away....

go see Jamestown if you get the time

Be sure to let us know how it was. I'd love to visit there within the next few years.

Thanks,
Lissa

It might be a little more crowded this weekend than the normal. It is family weekend at the College of William and Mary. But, we are all used to crowds going to DW, and it will not be anywhere that. Have a wonderful time!

We are having pretty good weather right now. Might have a little rain this weekend, but nothing major. I hope you have a safe trip and welcome to Hampton Roads!

Have a great time. We stayed there in August and were disapointed in the pool. It was cloudy and kind of scuzzy, and a very vanilla hotel pool.

The 2Br unit we had was beautiful, and compared very favorably with our BWV DVC except that the buildings were very spread out.

If you don't care for the pool at Manor Club, you're free to use the pool at the newer (but less colonial) units across the driveway. I did prefer that pool.

We were at the "Sequel" Marriott Manot Club this June 28-July 4th. The whole resort is beautiful and the check-in is at the original Manor Club. We had a 1 bedroom with great amenities and losts of space, including a great screened in porch. We cooked breakfast most of the time. The living room also had a gas fireplace. I did not like the king bed in the master, but everything else was wonderful They have a concierge who will help with dining and tee times. The resort has weely actvities for adults and kids and our DS and his frien 14 found themselves playing tennis alot. The pool at the sequel is bigger than the other, but you can use all areas of both complexes and they are just across the driveway. We rented videos also. We toured Bucsh gardens, Colonial Williamsburg, Yorktown and Jamestown. Ate at moderate restaurants(kids) and had a great time. Make sure to pick up the tour bopks for discounts. We would efinitely trade to a Marriott site again. This was our first trade out of DVC since we joined in 1994.

we have a reservation at ford's colony for easter time 05. we have cash reservations for a one bedroom for $132 per night for 6 nights for a total tax included $860. I believe it was going to be 144 points for 7 nights. i rented out the 86 points to pay for the ressie. no $75 trade fee either. Hopfully the weather will be nice in late march. We will be taking our bikes with us, is it true that there are many bike paths there. how far is it to colonial williamsburg?

It is pretty far to anything.

you need to drive.

besides some of their street were very, very crowded - I won't go on a bike out of the Manor area (including the house development)- you go first through a house development - then the golf course - then the Manor. Ford's Colony.

It was beautiful.

Yes, they have biking paths. If you go to the activity center they can give you a map of the trails in the area. I got a walking trail map that had a 3 mile route, 4 mile & 6 mile (I think, I can't remember). Anyways, the area is gorgous but I don't think you can bike to any of the attractions. Everything is really spread out. You pretty much had to drive on the freeway to get anywhere. That's pretty much the only compliant I had about the area. Also, it rained a lot when we were there. I took pictures of our 2 bedroom if you want to see them:

We stayed on the Colony side.

great pictures!! We don't want to ride our bikes anywhere but around the resort. The pools looked great as did the playground. am looking forward to staying there. it reminds me of hilton head, which is by far our favorite of all the disney resorts.

We own a week at Powhatan Plantation in Williamsburg. We were there in June and had a fantastic time! Definitely see Jamestown (just like Pocohantas!) and Yorktown! The history there is wonderful, very educational but fun for the kids as well. Eat in one of the taverns at Colonial Williamsburg! It is a real treat!!! Have fun.....Lacee

They were paved. The paths aren't sidewalks but a trail that went around the golf course through trees or the expensive neighborhood. So, the paths weren't smooth like a sidewalk but not as bumpy as a dirt road. They are somewhere in between if that makes sense. But definitely rideable on a bike and walking. That's the one thing I wish I took a picture of. The trails....
