Just what La. needed another punch to what little credability we had. :furious:
I am so :sad2: :guilty: :furious: I went out and voted against him...I just dont know how this happened! Oh wait yes I do, Karen Carter, his opponent went on Spike Lee s movie and said that Jefferson Parish and its officials were racists because the sherif closed the bridge and wouldnt let people cross durring the Katrina aftermath. She alienated half of her voters. :sad2:

WTH is wrong with voters? They voted him back in office despite the 90 grand found in his freezer? :faint:

Another "culture of corruption" Democrat gets a pass.

In this grand and glorious system of ours, you are entitled to be represented by the moron of your choice.

Don't I know that!!! :rotfl2:

(and I know you'll be reminding me for the next two years)

Ah, you know me too well. :teeth: :lmao:

What an embarassment. Hopefully the prosecution will move along and we'll get rid of him that way.

I am not surprised he was reelected. I mean Nagin and all his whacko ideas and comments got reelected. Nothing will ever change in NOLA or Louisiana. I am glad I had the means and the ability to move out last year. I just hope my parents and brother will have the same opportunities I did.

The question is, why has it taken the FBI more than a year and yet no charges had been filed?

They're too busy investigating Republicans.

i for one was hoping for his reelection. with the fbi investigation coming up, it should give the democrats the publicity they need. ;)

I think taking the House and Senate from the Republicans is publicity enough. In addition, watching the rats deserting the Bush sinking ship and the power of the Congressional subpeona on a group of people who think they sit at the right hand of God, will just add to the hoopla.

Plus, there's always the Libby trial as the icing on the cake.

What's Jefferson's frozen 90K compared to lying to get your country into war, and then mismanaging that war to the point where you've cost nearly 3000 lives, over 23,000 wounded and bankrupted the American treasury to the tune of 500,000,000,000 (that's billion with a "B") American tax dollars.

Jefferson's frozen 90K isn't going to be the headlines. Bush is going to wish his only problem was cold, hard cash. :lmao:

Its not all bad:
http://www.2theadvocate.com/news/4875466.html

We ARE slowly fixing the State Government. Next year we get to replace Babs Blanco. Her wonderful "Road Home" program has writen under 70 checks in 12 months for people needing to rebuild. That's out of 27,000 applications. The program is also costing $700,000,000 to run for 3 years using a non-government agency. So out of $10.6 billion 15% is being spend to give people money.

Maybe we can get Mayor Roach from Lake Charles to run to replace Senator Mary L. next year also.

Fun Fun Fun

In part that's because of the silly litigation over the FBI's search of Jefferson's Congressional office.

To those frustrated with Jefferson's re-election and left wondering how voters can't see the obvious wrong-doing right in front of them, I deeply sympathize with you.

After all, many of us felt the same way when Bush won in 2004 despite everything that was already known at that time by those of us who were paying attention.

you mean the war that republican AND DEMOCRATS voted for? hard to compare libby's non crime to the "frozen cabbage" that rescue services were diverted to retrieve. this will be interesting and distracting.

Libby??!?!?!?!? :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

There must have been a big sale on straws at Costco, Dawn, because as the queen of diversion you sure are clutching at a bunch of them lately!

Yeah that war ............. the one where Cheney said "there is no doubt that Saddam Hussein had WMD's" and it turns out, there was doubt and lots of it. And Libby's non-crime was one count of obstruction of justice, two counts of perjury and two counts of making false statements. Of course, Libby was neither asked nor did he lie about getting his flute played. If he lied about that, the Bushies would be seeking the death penalty.

Regardless, this thread involves the re-election of William Jefferson who was the moron of choice in his district. What the hell ............. Hastert, Reynolds, Boehner, and Blount were the choice in theirs.

no comparison. it should get interesting. hopefully the republicans have learned that when they attempt to defend a democrat whose office was justifiably search, it comes back to bite them. no good deed goes unpunished!
