I joined already. Honestly I don't know if it will be worth the money or not, but it seems that joining is the only way to really find out.

If I want to throw away $75..I will take it to the casino...at least there I have a chance to win enough to go back to WDW...:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

$30 maybe I would do it....$75...That's outrageous

I looked at the magazine at B&N on Saturday. While it was pretty, I didn't think it was nearly big enough to be worth $15. I've heard it described as a soft-cover coffee table book. Um. No. I didn't get that vibe at all.

So, no, I won't be joining.

I bought me and my DW memberships yesterday. She was so excited at the surprise. I am hoping it's worth it. I'll see what this first year is like and if it sucks I won't renew.

Just goes to show that people that live in Washington have no basis for reality, nor do they realize the value of money. Buying one membership is one thing by buying 2 for you and your wife? That is certainly extravagant, you must have used your AIG bonus! :lmao:

Will I join D23? No.

Now on to my editorial comments...
I think it's a damaged idea from the get-go and personally don't see much value in it. To me it just looks like an over-priced buying club, I would be paying to get the opportunity to buy more stuff.

And even if D23 were somehow "fabulous" in my opinion, I have faith that corporate would turn around and ruin D23 just like they ruined Magic Kingdom Club.

agnes!

It's been interesting to watch the results of the poll. The longer we go the higher the percentage not interested gets. After the initial euphoria it seems like reality is setting in and everyone is realizing what a dumb idea joining D23 is!

Actually, I think those who are interested just don't care much about polls.

Regardless, I know that several of the D23 items are sold out, so there doesn't seem to be a lack of interest in general.

Since this is a rumor board, I've heard from a few sources that there are a more perks coming. I've also heard that Disney is looking to pull some of the perks from the Disney Visa to use for D23. These would include things like previews of rides/shows/movies before the general public, discounts on merchandise at certain locations, things like that.

Anyway, just sharing. And yes, I joined on day 1.

Joe- I don't know if you have a Disney Visa or not, but I do. There are only a couple of perks with it 1) reward points 2) discount codes.

I can't think of any others- if any other card holders out there can think of any, please speak up.

Based on this, I think it would be beneficial for Disney to ATLEAST offer these perks to it's D23 members.

Don't see myself joining anytime soon. Maybe for a birthday/christmas gift or something. But, not on my "must have" list.

Yes I have it and you missed quite a few...just at WDW alone:

1. Character meet and greet at Epcot, with free 5x7.
2. 10% discount at World of Disney if you spend $50 or more.
3. 20% discount on theme park tours such as Keys to the Kingdom, etc...

Also at Disneyland there are similar perks, as well as discounts at some dining locations. There's also discounts at disneyshopping.com, DVC discounts, cruise line discounts, free financing on packages, etc...just to name a few.

I get quite a few perks with mine. If you ever go to Epcot, don't miss the meet and greet because you get the free 5x7 with it and its very much worth it if you've ever purchased photos from any of the parks.

I'm sure their some die-hard fans that this will be good for, but I'm saving my money for else where!

I will just purchase the magazine which I did at the Disney Store for $17+ with tax! The rest of the stuff doesn't interest me...

$17 :eek::eek:...for that price it better brush my teeth and include a visit from the Mouse to my house...:scared1::scared1:

Too much to pay for such little return. However, they must be doing something right. They're already posting "sold out" on a lot of the D23 member only products.

Just wondering if anyone has got the "Surprise Collectible Gift". I am on the fence on this one and if it is something cool it will push me to buy it. If it is something that does not interest me then I will have to pass on this one.

I agree with you. I was a member of the Magic Kingdom Club and I was very sad when it went away so that Disney could peddle the Disney Visa Card. If D23 included some of the Magic Kingdom Club Perks like the 10% discount in Disney Stores I would jump on board. But that much money for just a magazine... No

I'll be joining as soon as I have the money. I'm a huge Disney fan and am anxious to see how D23 will pan out.

I was on the D23 website early last month and it said that you could buy the magazine threw the website or at a Barnes & Noble's bookstore: has anyone bought the magazine at Barnes & Noble's? ;)
