Will You Chill Out if I Sprinkle You With Pixie Dust? The End p136 *New TR Link* p138

Does missing rope drop count if it's a soft opening? :confused3 I guess if I had gotten there about 10 minutes early I would have known for sure. I just wonder if they starting letting people in about 10 minutes early and let them just go where they wanted. Who knows? I'm seeing the rope drop is cool, but I think I got there at the same time anyway.

I seem to recall there was a rope when I went in during our food and wine trip. But it was an interior rope. Then again it could have just been a CM holding us back. Of course, I didn't take pictures. It was very anticlimatic though for sure.

I hope the weather is agreeable and we can walk from the Boardwalk to HS. I have to say - I am a little worried about my feet. I have had so much foot pain lately. It started with my planter fascitis, but now is just general aching. It makes me feel so old and its so darn frustrating. I will probably bring a pair of crocs with inserts and try these new chaco flip flops I bought. If worse comes to worse you'll have to push me in a wheel chair. :rotfl2: lol kidding!

Oh that does not sound good! Do you ice? Stretch? Use a foam roller?

I do find with Evan the inserts make a huge difference. The ones he was told by PT to get are not the nice soft comfy kind, they are hard orthotics, half sole inserts but boy do they help. That and a shoe with a heel cup or adding heel cups.

I will push you if it comes to that.

Between your feet, my neck and my newly diagnosed stupid tennis elbow (that I can't wear the support band for as I'm allergic to the material), we can feel old together. It sucks. I tweaked my neck (in addition to the normal issues) last night at dinner. Absolutely NO idea what I did.

I'll be on the lookout for yours. I was hoping to get one more in by tomorrow, but I have about 500 soccer pictures to edit and get posted to a web site, plus I still have 500 pictures from this trip that aren't edited yet. I just feel like I have SO MUCH TOO DO this weekend, so we'll see.

It's up :thumbsup2

You are ahead of me on the editing. I've probably got 1000 still to edit for our trip, but I am a day or two ahead, probably only one now that I think about it but that's several updates. Still, it will catch up with me I am sure.

That's a lot of soccer pics, do you take them? I'd love to see some!!!

I meant, do they sell booze in your local gas stations? FL does. They are about the same as us, only they don't let ya double coupons, so I've been told. WTH is up with that? For real. I'd starve. :rotfl2:

This is when the accident happened...

Now it's all icky and scarred, heel is missing for the most part. It scares the :faint: out of kids and some adults, but this happened when I was only 8. I have learned to deal with it over the years. Made for high pain tolerance. (I had my first two babies without any meds at all, didn't really feel a thing.) The last one was over 10# so they cut him out (he was stuck), but even after I refused meds. Had I not been nursing I would have drank a bottle of whiskey because that mess hurt, but ugh...I hate medication. I wear flip flops sometimes but it does gross people out.

Lamps, toilets...great minds, right? :hyper:

Every time I see that name, I just want to yell it.....YEE HAW BOB!!!

That's the run that I was contemplating taking when we're down at the BWV next month. :thumbsup2

Dang soft opens! I hate it when you get there and you're like "yeah, I'm early, I'm here.....d'oh!!!!!!!!!!"

Nice, getting your own boat on Living With the Land. They must have known that a very important DISer was visiting.

I can't believe it is mid October already! It seems like I have been away from dis for almost a month!

Trip over... now to get caught up on all my subscribed threads!

Welcome Back! I hope you had a wonderful time! Can't wait to hear all about it!

AOA -

I really enjoyed all your photos! We were there for one night..and between check in and check out it was only 15 hours. Take away the time we had that we were in the park..and we barely were there at all. I missed sooooo much!

Thanks! I hope you did get to enjoy the resort for the short amount of time you were there. It looks like such a cool place to stay. I hope I get the chance one of these days.

a June trip -

:cool1::cool1: How very cool you don't have to wait a year between trips!!!

I know. I was pretty depressed about the whole year thing. I think I need to go twice a year. This trip is going to be really different, but I'm going to embrace it.

Daytona Beach -

What great beach time you had! Love all the pics too. And that duck!!! How precious (yes, even with the evil eye) So cool that you got to spend that 24 hours with friends!!!

I am very glad we spent 24 hours at the beach. It was a great beach day and I really enjoyed seeing our friends. And that duck - so cool to see a duck's nest. Made the evil eye totally worth it.

Rental Car gas cap -

:rotfl2:

Tell me about it! :rotfl:

Floor assignment -

If I even start a TR and if you read it you will read how I too was placed in a ground floor room on my most recent trip. I am not a fan. I too like to be up high. For me though, it worked out surprisingly well. I hope it did for you too.

We had the same experience. The location turned out to be really great, so I can't complain. I do think the bottom floor feels more moist down there, but the location was convenient to everything.

Bike ride -

25 miles? :faint: :worship:

I used to ride all the time and I have a good bike, so it sounds more impressive than it really was. :rotfl: I'm glad I got out when I did because its been cold ever since.

Illuminations -

Your pictures are absolutely amazing! I love the lamp! That area is such a great area to watch from. Sadly, my dd had a different "favorite" area across the other side and so we watched from there last week.

Thank you! I love that area, but it is good to switch it up a bit. Hey - a mom's got to go where her daughter wants to go, right? I hope Zoe had a great time.

Running while in WDW -

Having just got back (well, a week ago) and having managed a couple runs outside of the race, I am curious what the distance is you run while in WDW? I found it hard to fit in a run before heading off to the parks... so I was only able to do about a mile and a quarter. I see you ran between BW and DHS..but how far is that?

I hope the race went well. When I run at home I usually run 2.5 to 3 miles. On vacation I am happy if I do 2 miles, but I will do more if the spirit moves me. I think its harder to figure out how to make the distance up in an unfamiliar place, where as at home I know all the distances.

I think it was probably about .8 miles between where I exited the hotel and the entrance to HS. But I'm really guestimating because I can't remember exactly.

I just jumped into MEK's report to comment and landed on your post.

I am SOOOOOOOO :sad1: that the Listen to the Land (is it Listen or Living. or both?) is gone. On our 2008 trip, my son went on with others and when he came back I asked him about the song and he said they didn't have it. I thought he was teasing me. But he wasn't!!! It was my favorite song other than Veggie Veggie Fruit Fruit!

I guess I need to youtube that song because I really don't remember it. Ugh. Sometimes I can be so unaware. :confused3

And for the runners out there, here is a jogging map showing the different paths around the BW/BC area with distances listed.

epcotjoggingmap.jpg

I love this map. Thanks for posting it. I have to put my readers on to see the distances, but perhaps I can figure out how far I ran. Better yet - I can plan my route for later next week. :thumbsup2 VWL is easy because I just run over to Fort Wilderness.

Your dedication to running is very impressive. My excuse to not exercise at Disney is that I'm already walking what seems like miles and miles every day :rotfl:

I really enjoy running and I try to do it more frequently on vacation. I always blame work on why I don't run every day. I agree that it seems a little weird because we do walk so much at Disney.

I'm glad the room location worked out well. I actually really like ground floor. I'm curious what I'll end up with at OKW.

The room location did work out great because it was so close to everything. I still would have liked to be up a few floors, but access to everything was great.

I hope you get a great room at OKW. There are only two floors to choose from there, so its pretty straight forward.

Your trip is coming up really soon!

3 days!!!!!:cheer2:

OMG :rotfl2: She didn't????? :rotfl2: That's too funny. The only way I would rent my points is if I was taking that money and using it for a cruise or some other vacation. How dare she plant that seed?

If you ever get the chance to go to Vero or HHI, they are both wonderful resorts as well. Great vacations without the cost of tickets. I guess living in South Carolina, maybe HHI doesn't have the same appeal. I loved in there and can't wait to go back in the spring.

She DID !! I really liked her, too .... until then. She needs to go now .... LOL.

We have discussed HHI, actually since it is so close by. A nice little weekend trip wouldn't be out of the question. I need to look into the points for it.

I seem to recall there was a rope when I went in during our food and wine trip. But it was an interior rope. Then again it could have just been a CM holding us back. Of course, I didn't take pictures. It was very anticlimatic though for sure.

There was an interior rope when we were there for the girl's trip. I walked right up to the CM's and Chip and Dale. It was so cool. This time - no rope whatsoever. Is it wrong that I was actually disappointed? :rotfl:

Oh that does not sound good! Do you ice? Stretch? Use a foam roller?

Stretch. A lot! My plantar fascitis is much better now, but my feet just ache. Constantly. It's so odd.

I do find with Evan the inserts make a huge difference. The ones he was told by PT to get are not the nice soft comfy kind, they are hard orthotics, half sole inserts but boy do they help. That and a shoe with a heel cup or adding heel cups.

I bought inserts and they are great. They help a lot. I just put them in my running shoes for the first time today and I think they helped. I just wish my feet didn't ache so much all the time.

I will push you if it comes to that.

I hope it doesn't. :rotfl2:

Between your feet, my neck and my newly diagnosed stupid tennis elbow (that I can't wear the support band for as I'm allergic to the material), we can feel old together. It sucks. I tweaked my neck (in addition to the normal issues) last night at dinner. Absolutely NO idea what I did.

Ugh - your poor neck. That stinks. Hope it recovers quickly! And, yes, I guess we will be feeling old together. I am sure those turtle crawls will help, though. :lmao:

I might not get to it until tomorrow. But yeah! :cheer2:

You are ahead of me on the editing. I've probably got 1000 still to edit for our trip, but I am a day or two ahead, probably only one now that I think about it but that's several updates. Still, it will catch up with me I am sure.

I did a lot of editing today, so I see a light at the end of the tunnel. I can't believe I took 500 pictures on my last day. That's just crazy. :rotfl:

That's a lot of soccer pics, do you take them? I'd love to see some!!!

Yeah - I take about 200 per game. Because the team isn't doing so well I have been having trouble staying motivated to edit them. But I hope to get them mostly done before I leave. I also do the end of the season video.

Heres the last group I uploaded http://s235.photobucket.com/albums/ee279/mekopp/Caravel Soccer 2012 versus Tatnall/

I meant, do they sell booze in your local gas stations? FL does. They are about the same as us, only they don't let ya double coupons, so I've been told. WTH is up with that? For real. I'd starve. :rotfl2:

Doh! Oops, I misunderstood. No. We have to go to a designated liquor store to get everything. It's like that in Pa, Maryland, Delaware, and New Jersey. I am so jealous of states that have beer and wine in their grocery stores.

This is when the accident happened...

375838_4404144337494_85043593_n_zps63c80a02.jpg

Oh My! You poor thing. And look at you sticking your foot up there like you are so proud. Wow - you were one tough little kid.

You know - nowadays someone with that injury would probably be addicted to pain meds because we give narcotics for everything. Kudos to you for not taking anything, even during childbirth. That's pretty impressive.

Does your foot ache after walking a lot?

Lamps, toilets...great minds, right? :hyper:

Exactly! :thumbsup2

Every time I see that name, I just want to yell it.....YEE HAW BOB!!!

:lmao:

That's the run that I was contemplating taking when we're down at the BWV next month. :thumbsup2

It's a great run before its so scenic. I love it! I'm also looking forward to running over to Fort Wilderness from the Wilderness Lodge.

Dang soft opens! I hate it when you get there and you're like "yeah, I'm early, I'm here.....d'oh!!!!!!!!!!"

:rotfl: I loved the soft opening at HS, but not at Epcot when I get to go in the private entrance. It's like "hey.........??????" :rotfl:

Nice, getting your own boat on Living With the Land. They must have known that a very important DISer was visiting.

Yeah - that was it - VIP Diser on board. It actually felt a little weird being the only person in there, but also pretty cool.

Loved this last update. I am SUPER giddy thinking that we will be seeing those sights live and in person THIS WEEK!!! :yay:

I love doing an "early" morning walk around the Boardwalk and down to Hollywood Studios. :thumbsup2

I think I would have been a little scared being by myself on The Land. I am such a chicken!

Sorry to hear your feet are bothering you. :scared: hope you are feeling better soon!

/
I am always amazed when you say you go running before you go in the parks! Don't your feet hurt from all the running and then walking around the parks? My feet are usually killing me by the 4th or 5th day and I never know how to fix it! I can't imagine running on top of all that walking! :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

I love the pics from your run, the BW area is so pretty! I really need to stay there, I'm kind of sad we're not staying there this year, but there's always next time!

I love how Denny wanted to sleep and you just said "ok text me" and left! I've done that with Brandon a few times and he never really believes I'll go to a park alone, so he gets out of bed, then I'm stuck waiting for him when I'm ready to go! :rotfl:

Your pictures of the World Showcase are so amazing! I love the IG entrance! :wave2:

Yay, Soarin! :cool1: I can't believe the FP return times were already at 4-5:00 at 11 am! I really wish Test Track would hurry up and open so people would stop going to Soarin! :rotfl2: :snooty:

Your pictures of your morning runs always make me smile. It shows the resorts in a different light, when everythings quiet and the humidity isn't unbearable yet. :rotfl: It makes me really excited to return to the world and discover the paths for myself. :goodvibes

So, no rope drop, but it sounds like you had a relaxing morning. I can't believe you were that alone on Living with the Land. :rotfl: And waiting for the FP return time you wanted was smart. :thumbsup2

Welcome Back! I hope you had a wonderful time! Can't wait to hear all about it!

Thanks, I will do a TR... I just need to get caught up on email. A week home and I still have nearly 800 messages to sort through.

Thanks! I hope you did get to enjoy the resort for the short amount of time you were there. It looks like such a cool place to stay. I hope I get the chance one of these days.

A spoiler to my TR... nope, we checked in and ate at landscapes of flavor (that is what it is called, right?) Then we left. We got back to the room about midnight and then left before 6am.

hope the race went well.

The race was fine. I didn't really push myself at all because I stayed with my run buddy (someone I met through dis) I am shocked we didn't get swept. We had over a 16min/mile pace. I ran a 10k today..and even with the HORRIBLE hills (like 2 miles of hills... at a stair like incline) I ended up with a pace of 10:46. That is a much better time to submit for the PHM.

It is hard to find time to run on vacation. I was just proud I still managed..and about a mile is the most I could fit the time in to do. Sounds like you do about the same. I just wasn't sure how long you were running and if I missed some secret running location (although, I think that some of the trails near WL are longer). :goodvibes

YAY all caught up again.

Love seeing the EPCOT I just walked out of tonight :cool1::cool1:

Plan is to run in the morning and head for a rope drop at EPCOT hopefully.

So close to being here. :cheer2::cheer2:

Daytona looked like a great trip outside the bubble and I would have melted down. Came close lugging my luggage up to the room this time. Just akward and clumsy.

There was an interior rope when we were there for the girl's trip. I walked right up to the CM's and Chip and Dale. It was so cool. This time - no rope whatsoever. Is it wrong that I was actually disappointed? :rotfl:

Whew, thank you. I wondered if my memory was gone.

Stretch. A lot! My plantar fascitis is much better now, but my feet just ache. Constantly. It's so odd.
Ice. Seems counter-intuitive but...ice.

I bought inserts and they are great. They help a lot. I just put them in my running shoes for the first time today and I think they helped. I just wish my feet didn't ache so much all the time.

Hmmn... maybe we need to send you to the spa for a foot massage.

I hope it doesn't. :rotfl2:

I'm sure it won't!

Ugh - your poor neck. That stinks. Hope it recovers quickly! And, yes, I guess we will be feeling old together. I am sure those turtle crawls will help, though. :lmao:

It's better. not 100% But definitely better. :thumbsup2 for Turtle Krawls!

I did a lot of editing today, so I see a light at the end of the tunnel. I can't believe I took 500 pictures on my last day. That's just crazy. :rotfl:

I can. I can't believe how many we took on our last day. Beats your 500 by...so many I can't even say as it's embarrassing. 2 cameras and 4 phones can add up to a LOT of pictures.

Yeah - I take about 200 per game. Because the team isn't doing so well I have been having trouble staying motivated to edit them. But I hope to get them mostly done before I leave. I also do the end of the season video.

Wow, I need to learn how to get the action shot. Mine still suck so I don't even try most of the time. I struggle with it too, watching versus trying to catch the shot.

A lot of reasons why I don't like it. Granted, I rarely buy actual liquor so it wasn't a big deal for me to go to a state store to get it but I can't say I see an improvement in prices or selection since the change.

She DID !! I really liked her, too .... until then. She needs to go now .... LOL.

:lmao: Yeah - I agree - she really DOES need to go! No question.

We have discussed HHI, actually since it is so close by. A nice little weekend trip wouldn't be out of the question. I need to look into the points for it.

Also look at member cash rates during off season. Last October my GF's and I went for 5 nights in late October and we paid $150/night plus tax for a 2 BR. It was an awesome rate. I loved the resort because it is so different from the mid atlantic region. I loved the island. Very cool place. Hate that its an 11 hour drive, but that's not stopping me from going back next spring. :thumbsup2

Loved this last update. I am SUPER giddy thinking that we will be seeing those sights live and in person THIS WEEK!!! :yay:

It's hard to believe. It actually feels a little surreal right now!

I love doing an "early" morning walk around the Boardwalk and down to Hollywood Studios. :thumbsup2

It really is the perfect place for a run or a walk. It so scenic and diverse. The Boardwalk so cool to be in during the early morning hours and the walk to HS is like being on your own private walkway. It's wonderful.

I think I would have been a little scared being by myself on The Land. I am such a chicken!

:rotfl: I'm not gonna lie - It was a little weird being back there by myself. Like, would anyone remember I am here if the ride stops? :confused3

Sorry to hear your feet are bothering you. :scared: hope you are feeling better soon!

My feet are a mess. I wonder what would happen if I didn't run for a couple weeks. I wonder if that is really the problem. Hopefully they will hold up in the world and Cynthia won't have to push me in a wheel chair. :rolleyes1

That's what's so great about Disney. There are always so many places to stay, so the stay is part of the adventure. I know you love your Beach Club so put Boardwalk on your future list. It's really a cool resort.

I love how Denny wanted to sleep and you just said "ok text me" and left! I've done that with Brandon a few times and he never really believes I'll go to a park alone, so he gets out of bed, then I'm stuck waiting for him when I'm ready to go! :rotfl:

Ugh - that's worse than just going. Denny knows I will go without him. He really doesn't care and since we could walk, it didn't really matter. Sometimes its just good to go out on your own. The solitude can be refreshing.

Your pictures of the World Showcase are so amazing! I love the IG entrance! :wave2:

Thank you! I noticed that once my brother left I really started concentrating on my pictures. And I took SO many more than I thought. I took 500 on our last full day. :faint: Crazy!

Yay, Soarin! :cool1: I can't believe the FP return times were already at 4-5:00 at 11 am! I really wish Test Track would hurry up and open so people would stop going to Soarin! :rotfl2: :snooty:

It was really crowded that day. That was Father's day and maybe a lot of people took their dad to Epcot for the day. But it was crazy busy. I can't wait until Test Track reopens.

Your pictures of your morning runs always make me smile. It shows the resorts in a different light, when everythings quiet and the humidity isn't unbearable yet. :rotfl: It makes me really excited to return to the world and discover the paths for myself. :goodvibes

I think that's part of the reason I like running and why I prefer running outside to running on a treadmill. Everything does seem so peaceful and inviting. Being someone that is normally filled with crowds is also really fun.

So, no rope drop, but it sounds like you had a relaxing morning. I can't believe you were that alone on Living with the Land. :rotfl: And waiting for the FP return time you wanted was smart. :thumbsup2

It was so weird being the only person on the ride. But it was also pretty cool and I great way to start the day. :thumbsup2

I went over those updates no less than 5 times:goodvibes You literally have the ability to transport me right there through your pictures....magnificient!

Thanks, I will do a TR... I just need to get caught up on email. A week home and I still have nearly 800 messages to sort through.

800 messages. :faint: OMG!!!!!!! That is a heck of a lot of email! I do not envy you.

A spoiler to my TR... nope, we checked in and ate at landscapes of flavor (that is what it is called, right?) Then we left. We got back to the room about midnight and then left before 6am.

So you really didn't get to enjoy the resort at all. Too bad. Sort of a tease to be there, but have to pack up and go. Oh well - maybe next time you'll get a longer stay there. I really want to stay there someday.

That's a nice pace for hills. You go girl. I think its great that you stayed with your run buddy. I mean, let's face it - you don't do a Disney race for a personal best. You do it for the experience. Sounds like a great experience.

It is hard to find time to run on vacation. I was just proud I still managed..and about a mile is the most I could fit the time in to do. Sounds like you do about the same. I just wasn't sure how long you were running and if I missed some secret running location (although, I think that some of the trails near WL are longer). :goodvibes

I don't like wasting a lot of time running either, so 2 miles is perfect for me. Most every resort has 2 miles of paths that you can run without feeling like you're doing repeats. Once you go over that then your really need to start searching for new routes or running the same one over again.

YAY all caught up again.

:thumbsup2 I don't know how you found the time to get caught up. You go!

Love seeing the EPCOT I just walked out of tonight :cool1::cool1:

That is pretty cool. I hope you are enjoying yourself!!!!!

Plan is to run in the morning and head for a rope drop at EPCOT hopefully.

Sounds like a perfect plan, if you ask me! Where are you staying this time?

So close to being here. :cheer2::cheer2:

Can't wait! :goodvibes

Daytona looked like a great trip outside the bubble and I would have melted down. Came close lugging my luggage up to the room this time. Just akward and clumsy.

Awkward and clumsy is the perfect description of how I felt getting caught in the door with two suitcases. :lmao:

Whew, thank you. I wondered if my memory was gone.

It memory is completely intact! No need to worry! :rotfl:

Ice. Seems counter-intuitive but...ice.

Hmmn... maybe we need to send you to the spa for a foot massage.

I love ice for the plantar fascitis. I use frozen peas. WRaps right around my foot. This has been more aching, but I guess I could try ice for both feet. The foot massage actually sounds like heaven,

I'm sure it won't!

I ran on the treadmill tonight because it was raining. First time since spring. I hope that doesn't mess up anything.

It's better. not 100% But definitely better. :thumbsup2 for Turtle Krawls!

I'm glad you neck is improving.

I can. I can't believe how many we took on our last day. Beats your 500 by...so many I can't even say as it's embarrassing. 2 cameras and 4 phones can add up to a LOT of pictures.

Yes - that could be 2000 pictures, easily. Good luck with that. :rotfl2:

Wow, I need to learn how to get the action shot. Mine still suck so I don't even try most of the time. I struggle with it too, watching versus trying to catch the shot.

I've gotten better at it, but I still have a long way to go. You have to use your manual setting for shutter speed or your shutter will stay open too long and you get the dreaded blur.

Beer and wine in the grocery is great. We just changed to liquor in the grocery. I hate it. Didn't vote for it. Lived in states that had it and I see us going down the same path now that it's here. A lot of reasons why I don't like it. Granted, I rarely buy actual liquor so it wasn't a big deal for me to go to a state store to get it but I can't say I see an improvement in prices or selection since the change.

Liquor in the grocery store? :faint: That seems SO foreign to me and potentially dangerous since I might have to buy a bottle of something every time I shop, just because. :rotfl2:

I went over those updates no less than 5 times:goodvibes You literally have the ability to transport me right there through your pictures....magnificient!

Thank you! What a nice compliment. I am working feverishly to get my last couple hundred pictures edited so I can get this TR done when I get home! :thumbsup2

Great TR as usual. I've had to catch up since I've been gone for several days
Being alone on a ride is quite fun, doesn't feel strange to me at all!:thumbsup2

I need to force myself to start a TR, but life has been so busy & is about to get busier.

Anyway all caught up & waiting for the next installment.

BTW, liquor is sold here in state stores & the prices are higher than states that sell it in regular stores. I one bought a fifth of Jim Beam at a Safeway store in Arizona for $4.99 with a Safeway saver card! That was a shockingly low price.:cool1:

800 messages. :faint: OMG!!!!!!! That is a heck of a lot of email! I do not envy you.

yes, but I am almost caught up. It was a ton of junk mail!!! and multiple multiple dis notifications. :rotfl:

So you really didn't get to enjoy the resort at all. Too bad. Sort of a tease to be there, but have to pack up and go. Oh well - maybe next time you'll get a longer stay there. I really want to stay there someday.

It was a tease and my dd was a bit sad that we didn't get to go in the pool. However, I am not sure I want to stay there again. True, the theming is AMAZING... but it is a very active resort. LOTS of people.

That's a nice pace for hills. You go girl. I think its great that you stayed with your run buddy. I mean, let's face it - you don't do a Disney race for a personal best. You do it for the experience. Sounds like a great experience.

That is so true it is about the experience..... and while I didn't expect to do my personal best... I didn't expect quite what she did. I was thinking between 2 hours and 2 1/2 hours. (12 to 15 minute miles) She was thinking 4 to 6 hours (24 to 36 minute miles). So the reality is we came in much closer to my desired time than hers. For the PHM though, I think we will be running at different paces. I would like to run (ie. not walk any of it) but stop for characters and mile markers. If my pace then is a 10 minute mile, I would think that stopping for those things may add a few minutes per mile onto my time giving me a 13 to 14 minute pace. Disney says that the pace to keep is 16 minutes per mile... so assuming good corral placement I doubt I will fear getting swept as much as I did for the ToT race.

I don't like wasting a lot of time running either, so 2 miles is perfect for me. Most every resort has 2 miles of paths that you can run without feeling like you're doing repeats. Once you go over that then your really need to start searching for new routes or running the same one over again.

Yep, I noticed that just running between POFQ and POR. I would have had to loop a bit.

I was showing off Strawberry Shortcake I think (in that picture). We didn't have cameras back then (my family) so people would take pics when visiting and give them to my parents. Might be why I take 1000's of pictures now. :rotfl2:

After a full park day I'm happy to get back to the resort. I will say that.

Hi, I'm new to your TR..I actually just started reading your updates a couple days ago and I have been whizzing right through! I love all of your pictures :)

I had to stop & comment on your upcoming cruise. Definitely get off the ship and check out Nassau! I went on a Bahamian cruise (Norwegian) in May 2007, so granted it has been a few years, but we really enjoyed Nassau. Yes, it is not resort quality, but it has a lot of history and it was actually quite beautiful. I have heard warnings to stay away from the city in the evening, and I would agree with those warnings! We were actually on our way back to our ship around 4-5 pm and it was getting a little darker, and it did start to feel a little unsafe (people approaching us trying to sell drugs, pan handlers, etc).

My advice is to go on an excursion while there. We took a jitney tour (like a mini bus) and we did visit the Queen's Staircase (amazing) as well as a couple forts. The driver/guide told us a lot of info about the island while we were driving around as well, and it was a really nice way to see all of the sights, but still feel like we were in "the cruise ship bubble"...not quite the Disney bubble, but we felt SAFE! Our tour also included a visit to a pirate themed museum. I could take or leave that museum. It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't go out of my way to see it again. Then we were free to explore on our own, and we did some shopping in the straw market, got my hair braided, etc.

All in all, I would say Nassau was a can't miss for me. If we ever cruise to the Bahamas again, I would definitely get off the ship to explore. In fact, I would most likely take another jitney tour to the same sights. Whatever you do, please please see the Queen's Staircase. It was a highlight!
