Will You Chill Out if I Sprinkle You With Pixie Dust? The End p136 *New TR Link* p138

Oh my goodness, the treehouse is gorgeous! I mean, I know it's a deluxe villa resort, but I still never pictured it to be so pretty. I mean... it's a treehouse. :rotfl: Awesome!

The inside is such a contrast to the outside. It's really beautiful inside. Everything was nice and new and it made a great home for 5 nights.

Oh man... I hope there were no incidents with the glass shower and no locks!!!

Fortunately, no incidents, but they may have been because I made Denny the watch dog whenever I went in there. Only Denny, Nick, and I showered in our bathroom and everyone used the other one.

Wow, that train ride must have been agonizing. Glad they all got there in one piece though!

I forgot to mention, but the reason they were so late is because they had two delays when the train did not move at all. One, I think, was because another train had broken down on a track and needed to be moved. I forget what the other was.

First things first, there is no way unless I was just travelling with my daughter or my one sister that I am super close to that I could handle a bathroom with no locks. That would freak me out! Were there any mishaps because of this? Oh dear!

I actually got used to it as the week went on and there were no mishaps. I still think the see-through glass door was a mistake in a room with no locks. I also assigned people bathrooms, so that helped to keep my brother's family on the other side of the villa.

And I am dying to find out when the first meltdown happened and who it was! Does that make me an awful person?:rolleyes1

No. That makes you a pretty normal person, I think. It's fun to read about meltdowns because then you realize you aren't the only person that has them. I think its not to during a trip like this.

Finally, God bless you for taking a trip with such a large group!:)

Thanks! I really wanted to do this. One of the reasons I wanted to buy DVC was so I could take people to Disney. I really do like to share the magic! :goodvibes

Great pics of the Treehouse! They are really nice inside. I love that Kitchen and the view is pretty, too. So there are 3 bedrooms and then the pull out couch?

Oh no! I hope the first Meltdown doesn't come too soon!

So glad you like the pics! Yes, 3 bedrooms and a pull out sofa and a pull out chair. Surprisingly, that did not clog up the living room too terribly and we folded the beds up everyday.

Oh no! I hope the first Meltdown doesn't come too soon!

Oh its a coming alright! :rolleyes1

I want more.

I've caught up on your other trip reports and I should have waited for this one to be further along before starting because I am quite impatient. I love your writing style!

I don't know about you, but the thought of being on a train for 24+ hours sounds a hundred times worse than the 0.0000001% chance of something happening while on an airplane!

I am so sleeping in a treehouse! Love love love the pics and it looks like you really had a killer location! Love the view from the LR and actually love the one from the master even more. Sigh.

I will be very interested to see how the QSP worked out for you, especially since I just nixed it!

LOL

Wow...that villa is awesome. I'm a no flash user as well. Do you use photoshop at all? I can lighten up some pictures a bit with that and then if it looks noisy I can also get rid of "some" of it through there....but then some are just unfixable. But a lot of times a flash is just too harsh I actually have one of the attachment flashes...but I can never get the hang of it very well.

The treehouse is very cool -- I had never seen pictures of the inside before. I agree, though, the no locks would make me so nervous with that many people staying there. I wonder why Disney decided not to do locks...

Yeay for the rest of your family arriving and pool time! Great start! :thumbsup2

Wonderful update! Love the treehouse. I might just go even if I dont have enough people. It is just so lovely :) I loved seeing all the SSR pictures, we really enjoyed our trip there last year.

That flatbread looked delicious!

The treehouses look fantastic! They seem so spacious & very well done. I would love to stay in one of them one day. But, since there's only 3 of us, it's feels like a waste of space.

Your lunch looks really good, too! :thumbsup2

Seems like a fun afternoon of swimming! Can't wait to see if y'all get to MK or not. And when the 1st meltdown happens! popcorn::

I am loving all of the pics of the Tree house! Thank you for sharing!

Can't wait for the rest!

Lisa

PS I also annoy my brother! But to my understanding, being a sister means that is our job...right?

:rotfl: Laughing and Mark is looking at me like I've truly lost it.

I'm glad you got a chuckle out of that. Let's just say by the end of the night I was so flustered I couldn't do anything right. My head was spinning. :sad2:

I want more.

:welcome: Shanlubey! Thanks for joining in the fun. I will post again mid week so stay tuned!

So nice to know you are a regular reading. Thanks so much for stopping in to say "Hi". I'm glad you are enjoying my TRs. Thanks for the compliment! :goodvibes

I could not agree more. I had actually considered the train for a possible future trip (a long one) when we might want our own car, but I definitely think driving would be better for me. And I hate to drive. Being stuck in a train - not my idea of fun! :sad2:

We had an excellent location. I did not see another that I would have preferred. So glad it worked out that way. I seem to do better when I don't request a specific location. It was perfect - close to the water, the pool, the walkway to SSR, and the extra parking space which we took over during our stay!

I'm glad you have made up your mind on the treehouse. It was a pretty cool experience and one we probably won't repeat until we have grandkids. *shudder*

I will be very interested to see how the QSP worked out for you, especially since I just nixed it!

LOL

If you eat at the right places and pick the right meals I think it can be cost effective. For example, if you had dinner most nights at WPE in DTD it would totally be worth it. But if you stick to park counter service, not so much.

Glad you like the villa. It was pretty awesome!

I am embarrased to admit that I do have photoshop on my computer but I don't know how to use it and I get frustrated everytime I try. I need a class. I use the iphoto editing on my mac. That definitely improves the lighting and, since I generally have good success with it, I rushed through the photos without brining in more natural light. I wish I could have a do-over.

I agree - a flash makes everything too harsh. I hate the look of it.

The treehouse is pretty cool. So glad we got a chance to stay there. As far as the locks - I really think it was so kids couldn't lock themselves in. I know that can happen everywhere, but maybe they thought these villas were particularly high risk. I don't know, but I think they need to leave around more "Do Not Disturb" Signs or maybe caution tape! :rotfl:

Yeay for the rest of your family arriving and pool time! Great start! :thumbsup2

So glad they arrived and they really did perk with with the pool time. It worked out great because the treehouse pool was down the next day!

Wonderful update! Love the treehouse. I might just go even if I dont have enough people. It is just so lovely :) I loved seeing all the SSR pictures, we really enjoyed our trip there last year.

Thanks Pam. Well, now that you are officially a point czar you could definitely build a treehouse stay into your future plans. I would love to be there in the cooler, less crowded weather. It would be really a nice time to visit.

I was happy to be back on SSR soil. I have been on a mission for so long to try all the other more "desirable" resorts, but SSR is really home to me. I know its further from the parks, but its just such a lovely place with so much to look at.

That flatbread looked delicious!

It was. I wish I had one right now!

The treehouse was a wonderful experience and I definitely recommend it. I think it probably is too big for just 3 people, but if you ever had a second family with you its a no brainer. :)

Your lunch looks really good, too! :thumbsup2

The flatbreads at AP were pretty yummy and its a nice atmosphere, so I was pretty happy with our first lunch!

Seems like a fun afternoon of swimming! Can't wait to see if y'all get to MK or not. And when the 1st meltdown happens! popcorn::

Everyone really enjoyed the pool. Well, everyone but my brother who stayed in the villa to try to take a nap. Apparently he did not sleep much on the train and I believe that lead to the future meltdown. :rolleyes1

I am loving all of the pics of the Tree house! Thank you for sharing!

Can't wait for the rest!

:welcome: ChefDisneyLu Lisa! Thanks for joining in. So glad you are enjoying the treehouse pics and the TR so far.

PS I also annoy my brother! But to my understanding, being a sister means that is our job...right?

You know - I think you have something there. A little sibling rivalry is a good thing, right? :rotfl: However, ours went a bit beyond that a couple times on this trip. Oh well. It all ended well! :goodvibes

The kids all look really tired when they arrived

They looked tired and pale like they had been in that train for more than a day. Fortunately, they perked up quick enough. :thumbsup2

The treehouse looks great! I'd love to try it out sometime.

And your young relative (nephew?) gets extra points for wearing the Phillies shirt. :thumbsup2

Point Czar  love it! Is it bad I still want more... All I think about these days are vacation. I think I'm obsessed!

Wow I am now even more in love with the Treehouses, except for the 21 steps:rotfl2:How many does each sleep ??????

Wow SSR really is big...it looked that way when we made a quick stop but two maps!! It took me a couple of days to get used to Pop Century so god knows what I would be like in such a big resort!

Lovely pics of the villa...it looks great! I love butterfly prints so the portraits on the wall are my favourite.

Oh no on having no locks...that sounds scary! :scared1:

Yay on all the family being together and enjoying pool time.

Really? Was that when you went over to Universal? Surprised you recognized it.

No, we never went to Universal in the end. We actually flew to Sanford airport due to a mix up but ended up with free transfers. The other party with us were staying at that hotel so it was some of the first sights of Florida that I actually saw hence the reason they are still memorable.

I'm in and caught up.

Yikes on the autotrain! I know a lot of people around here really like them. But the cost plus the time and I'm not sure I would be game.

I love our small airport here in Corpus. Granted our rates are higher most of the year, but we can leave for the airport an hour ahead of our flight and have plenty of time! I checked out SWA's new schedule last week and I'm afraid the new flight times out of here are nuts!

Can't wait to hear more. The treehouse villas look amazing! One day!! :)

Loving your trippie so far !:thumbsup2 It's funny how people see WDW vacations differently ! I have learned so much, not only from personal experience, but from the boards as well ! Live and learn though . . . . .
