Will we regret not having a car??

This is just to note, for those reading the thread, that I can't think of any way to take a boat to DTD from BCV. The DVC resorts with a boat to DTD are Saratoga Springs and OKW.
Also POR and POFQ.

Sorry, I meant to type "MGM" instead of "DTD." Fingers and thoughts were not in alignment. We take the boat to Disney/MGM Studios.

I too am dreading not having a car - but we always waste time getting lost - especially in the dark!

The transportation issue is going to be difficult because you want to eat at resort hotels, and eating at the Pepper Market would mean taking a bus from one of the parks or downtown disney, to Coronado, then back again afterwards and to your hotel. You could get a taxi, but the money you spend on taxi fares could diminish any savings you've made by not having a car.

If it was me, I would cost out the difference between staying at Coronado and renting a car.

I prefer to have a rental car. But...if we don't then it's easier not to try and hop from resort to resort. There are lots of dining options that won't involved the long transportation times...make PS (oops, I mean PDR) based on ease of getting from one place to another.

We went for 2 trips with a car bc/ we drove to WDW. During those trips we used a combination of bus and car to get around. We flew for our last trip in March and we decided not to rent a car. The free Magical Express was too good to pass up. Going to and from the parks on the bus was fine (we were at CSR), but it was hard to go anyplace else. That was fine with us b/c we didn't plan on resort to resort trips. We had one bus trip home from the Wide World of Sports that took over 1 1/2 hours. We should have taken a cab. I think you should add up all the resort to resort trips you're planning on taking and see how much it would take to taxi to those places. Some resort to resort trips are pretty easy. We took the bus from POFQ to Animal Kingdom Lodge last year and that was easy. It depends where you're going. Also, I notice you have a 2 year old. I think I'd like to have a car if I was taking a 2 year old, but that's just me.

I think you should be able to get a better car rental rate. Keep checking!

Since we live fairly close to WDW we always have our car. I have become spoiled about having one, and find it much easier to get where we need to go by our own transportation. Especially the hotel restaurants, etc. for dinner. The major parks are fairly easy using WDW transport, but getting from one hotel to another can be time consuming.
