Will we need to take a cab after late dinner?

I made the last possible ADR at Narcoosee's for our fly-in day- we are arriving at 7:05, and have 9:50 dinner reservations. We will be staying at ASMu. Will we still be able to take a bus to DTD after dinner and get back to our resort or will the busses have stopped running?

Better question IMO is, would you really want to?

All that rich food. . .having to ride a bus there then a bus to the hotel...believe you me, the cab is worth it.

We got stuck in drenching rain at the Yacht Club one time last trip we were all tired, hungry, and soaked and cold. We got a cab back to our resort (MK resort far away) and it was the best money we spent the whole trip.

Take the cab. You'll be glad.

I think we will be taking a cab on our first night from Ohana, our reservations is at 8:20 and probably by the time we will be done we will want a cab..

I take cabs all the time, I budget in 100++ for cabs, it is a great *non stressful* way to get to an early ADR or home from a late one.

Disney transportation is great, but you still have to allow a generous margin to make an ADR on time, with cabs it's a no brainer and you can stay at your resort or park until the last moment. Returning to your resort is a breeze.

I guess I hadn't thought about it too much! After a long day of work/school, flying, and a huge meal, we probably will want a cab. Since I've never done so in WDW, how do you go about doing so? We've normally had a rental car, but don't plan on it this time because of DME and because we don't plan on going off property.

So, do we just go outside and tell the Bellman? I suspect it's not the same as getting a cab in NYC? :rotfl2:

Usually there are cabs line up waiting, but yes, just ask the bellman and there will be one real quick.

i used cabs 3 times in my 8day trip 3 weeks ago. the best 20 bucks (each ride) a spent all vacation. i traveled solo with 2 kids and it was so nice not to have to keep the kids awake while i wanted for the bus, get them on a bs plus a double stroller then try like he## to make sure they didnt fall asleep on the way back to alsmovies. then throw the stroller off the bus with all the nice helpful (:rotfl2: ) ppl at the hotel dying to get off the bus and back to their room!!
so get a cab??? yes. sorry to make that a long post but got carried away sorry

Can anyone answer the whole question in the OP? Will the buses still be running that late between DTD and resorts?

We always take cabs at WDW. It is much nicer to get right into a cab to go somwhere instead of waiting for other transportation.

Now I could be wrong, but I thought that buses stopped running one hour after the parks close. We have gotten stuck and just go to one of the bigger hotels and grabbed a cab....

Since I rent a car anyway and have DVC, I just drive to one of the DVC hotels and valet my car so I always have a quick exit rather than waiting for a bus if I am going to have a late evening.. I just end off at the same park where I started from, get my car and head back to my resort.

Hope this helps, bus schedule found here on the DIS:

If it is a late night at MK(EMH or just open late) the MK bus will run until about 1 hour after the park closes. It would be a shorter trip to MK then home rather than DTD then home, but as said the DTD bus runs very late(Pleasure Island folks need to get home)
