I'm sure this is crazy but our flight arrives at MCO at 225 pm, plan is to rent a car at airport check in at OKW then hit Mk at 4 for mnsshp our first FP is 330_430 , can we make it in time? What is drive time from MCO to wdw? Any help or tips?

Maybe for 430 but you'll be cutting it close. Figure landing and the airport itself 45minutes minimum, then 30-40min drive to your resort them checking in. Id make it for later if possible

The actual party doesn't start till 7 so you'll have no problem making that. Maybe try your FP for 530 or even more 6.

Not sure you'll make your FP in time. Twice we have landed at MCO, rented a car, and made it to Turf Club at SSR in two hours. Do you need to check-in at OKW, or, do you have your party tickets with you? If you have your party tickets, head straight to Contemporary, valet park and walk to MK.

If you have to check-in at OKW, you won't have enough time.

You might...last trip I had a FP+ for Peter Pan 12:15-1:15 and my flight landed at 11:00. I used Magical Express, checked in at Pop Century (did online check-in before), put my bags in my room, then hopped on a bus to MK. I walked off the ride at exactly 1:15...which means I made it there by about 1:10 or so. It was pixie dust for sure...but I did make it. I also have a walker so I'm not exactly Speedy Gonzalez rushing through the parks...lol!

So I definitely think you might make it...and there's also a chance you might not. As long as you are okay with not making it then you will be fine. If it's a ride you HAVE to do right away...then maybe see if you can push it back an hour. If you do make it for the FP+ then it will be at the very end of the window.

You'll definitely make the party, and it's worth a try to make it to the FP as long as you aren't stressing yourself or getting a speeding ticket over it!

Have a great trip!!

Of course there's the possibility you will make all your times, however there are also various variables that could upset your plans.

Not sure where you're flying in from, but planes can be late in taking off and arriving...
I haven't rented card from MCO in LOOOOOONG time, so not sure how smooth this process usually runs, but again I've had delays renting cars depending upon where in terminal plane lands and where we have to pick up car. Also, if you're checking in any of your luggage, waiting for it can be fast or slow.

I've had trips where all travel plans went as planned or better and I was in park having fun in no time. And then there were other trips where everything went wrong from stuck jetways on planes to stuck monorail going to MK!

As PPs said, you should easily get there in time for the party...as far as FP+ and such...you have as good a chance as any to make it.

Good luck and enjoy

To make that FP time you should consider checking in to OKW later ...assuming that FP is that important.

0:30 to get off plane and get to luggage and claim it
0:30 to get to car rental, processed, get to car, and leave airport
0:30 to drive to OKW
0:30 to check in and move luggage to room
0:30 to drive to MK and take tram in to TTC and then Monorail over to MK gate

you are up to 5:00pm already just on basic average times for these.

Exactly...

we waited in line for a rental car at MCO 2 Saturdays ago for over an hour. Some counters had no line, others had lines just as long as ours.

Even if everything goes smoothly it will be extremely close. But, I would try it- as long as you are Ok with possibly missing the FP.

I seldom make any plans for within 4 hrs of my arrival...at least, nothing I don't want to miss. I had made plans for something pretty important to me a few Decembers ago....I should have landed at 11am, and been at the CR by 12:30...plenty of time for the 2:00 function, at the CR. But..my flight was delayed by 3 hrs...I actually took off at the time I should have been landing in Orlando....so, by the time I got to the CR, around 3:30, the event had finished up!
Stuff happens. I have FP+ chosen for my Aug 30 arrival. I land at 6:30, first FP is at 8:45-9:45. If I miss it, I miss it. No biggie. Wasn't orignally planning on going to MK that night anyway, but when they extended hours, I figured why not.

So...I would plan on missing that first FP+. You might make it, but probably not. You could split up and have one adult go get the rental car, while the other goes to baggage claim. That will save some time.

Tack on a minimum of 90 minutes if you're flying United.

LOL.

By the way, you can always try to reschedule the FP on a smartphone or at a kiosk if you realize you won't make it.. even after the time has passed given it hasn't been used.

You just may not get the same rides.

Everything would have to go absolutely perfectly for you to be able to do all of that and make a FP+ at MK within 2 hours of your scheduled arrival.

IF your flight even arrives on time, you are still talking 30 minutes to get off the plane, take the train from the airside terminal over to baggage claim, and get your luggage.

Best case scenario for rental car is probably 15 minutes to go through rental process, find the car, and load it up.

Then just drive time from MCO to Old Key West and then from there to MK would be about 45 minutes total.

Add 15 minutes for check-in at Old Key West.

Add 30 minutes to get from MK parking lot to front gate, plus however long it takes to get to the ride your FP+ is for (you didn't specify).

That's at least 2 hours 15 minutes (putting you at 4:40pm) right there, and assumes:
1. Your flight arrives on time
2. Your baggage isn't delayed (I've waited 40 minutes for bags a few times at Orlando International)
3. There is not a long line at rental counter (I've seen some massive lines before)
4. You don't hit any traffic
5. The DME bus doesn't drop off a busload of passengers at Old Key West for checkin right before you get there (has happened to me a couple of times)
6. The trams are running quickly (this almost never happens now, especially mid-day. You might sit there for 10-15 minutes before they decide to actually move)
7. The monorail doesn't break down
8. etc, etc, etc
