Will we make it in time?

We have Downtown Disney BBB reservations at 6:40pm for 2. Then we have an ADR at 8:25p.m. for Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner @ the GF. OurLaughingPlace has a transportation time of 35mins. (Using our own car and transfering to monorail @TTC) Is this the best way to get there? Can I skip the monorail and drive straight there faster? Or am I just wishful thinking my timing and with the BBB reservation (not knowing how long it will take), we won't make it to our ADR on time either way? Thank in advance for your advice!

You can drive directly to the Grand Floridian for your meal. Follow pretty much the same directions as for going to Magic Kingdom. At the toll plaza choose one of the lanes near the right (very rightmost for buses only). Tell the attendant you are going to the GF, then drive on and go right at the big fork just ahead. Left at the first light where you can go left. Continue past the Magic Kingdom dropoff lot "cell phone lot" and then past Polynesian, not sure whether this road gently curves to the right or you turn right at the end to get to GF.

I would expect you would make the dinner reservation okay except if Bibbity Bobbity Boutique is running behind schedule. Because of this I would really change one of these reservations rather than leave them this close (under 2-1/2 hours apart).

When you leave GF, you must drive if you were not staying there. You may not leave your car parked at a resort other than yours while you go to a theme park or continue touring elsewhere.

Had your meal been at MK proper, you must park at the Transportation & Ticket Center and use the monorail or ferry. In that case, for travel driving from Downtown Disney, allow an hour rather than 35 minutes.

This is yet another example of why LaughingPlace is NOT the best source for directions.

BBB often runs behind on appointments. If that happens, you probably won't make it.

This is just one of the reasons that conventional wisdom on the transportation board is to stay away from the OLP wizard.

Okay thank you. I knew I could probably drive there but didn't know which was faster. So correct me if I'm wrong, your saying it will take an hour to drive from DTD to GF? That would be pushing it then. I got these reservations late yesterday, to my surprise, and these were the only times open. Changing them would most likely not be a possibility. I will however keep calling BBB to see if there has been any earlier cancelings just in case. Thanks for the quick response!

I have been researching our very first Disney vacation for a couple years now but as you know, there's a lot to learn. I'm still learning who is a good source and who is not. So thank you for saving me some time when it comes to who to go to for directions. I didn't know.

The actual drive will take about 15 minutes.

Here's a breakdown, assuming there are no delays of any kind:

6:40 BBB
7:35 walk to car
7:50 drive to GF
8:05 park car
8:10 check in at restaurant

As you can see, without any delays, you'll barely make it on time. I would expect BBB to be running at least 30 minutes behind.

Thank you! The time breakdown really helped clarify! I guess I'll hope for an earlier cancellation at BBB or have to make a tough decision later on.
