Hi there,

I'm planning a trip to WDW with my boyfriend (We're 26 and 27). I unfortunately lost my Father to cancer last week, so we're planning a little mini escape just for some space away. However, the only time we can go is in just over a week, dates would be Feb 27-Mar 2 (Mon-Fri)

He's never been to WDW, and the last time I went was 2006. We both really want to take advantage of the Disney Dining Plan - but with only 12 days away until our trip - will we honestly get in anywhere for table service? I would obviously love to get into Le Cellier but not holding my breath... but it would be nice to go to Coral Reef or another nice place like that.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Go online and put in some restaurants that you want and see what comes up. Then you can make your decision.

There are a lot of openings online. You may not get perfect times, but even some of the favorites still had openings.
As long as you aren't try to get Ohana, CRT, or Le Cellier you should be able to find some great choices.

I've looked and there's lots of openings everywhere for dinner time for 2 people for all your dates. It all depends where you want to eat.

Thanks for the advice thus far. Does anyone know the site where I'd go online to reserve, and check availability?

Also, thank you for the condolences, cluvsdisney.

Since it has been a while since you were there, you might want to know that the dining plan no longer includes the appetizer and tip is not included. Check out the sticky on the Everything You Need to Know about the dining plan for more details about the current version.

So sorry for your loss - I hope a Disney trip takes you away for a bit and gives you a chance to breathe.

One of the bonuses of the new reservation system and having to put a credit card hold on some dining reservations is that there are reservations available that never were before. Since your card is charged if you are a no show, people are actually cancelling their reservation instead of just not showing up - which means there are great options popping up all the time.

The switch came aboard during October so there will be some reservations that don't fall under the new protocol, but there should be enough that you will be able to find something great even two weeks out.

Go for it and enjoy!:)

I'm sorry for your loss. When I lost my dad I went to WDW with my mom and then when my mom passed I went back with friends; both trips helped remind me of the great vacations I had with them there. (Already warned my boyfriend our November trip may have a ton of "When I was here with my family/mom...)

When I went with my mom we had only made 2 ADRs before getting down there (HoB for after La Nouba and Le Cellier for Mother's Day dinner); after waiting over an hour the first night for a table at the Whispering Canyon Cafe we called dinning while in Disney and got some great ADRs at good times.

I think as long as your flexible with where you'd want to eat I'm sure you'll have some great meals and great restaurants!

Very sorry for your loss

I hope it works out you get to take your trip. If you don't have luck getting what you hope using the on-line ressie, you could always try to call Disney Dining 407-WDW-DINE and talk to a CM. Tell them you really want LeCellier or Coral Reef & I'm sure they'd help you find if there is any availabilty at all for lunch or dinner during your trip days.

Le Cellier is now a signature restaurant for dinner so if you get the DDP, be aware for dinner it will require 2 table service credits. Lunch is still 1 TS so you may want to check lunch times first, lunch can be served later in the afternoon. We have an ADR for our summer trip at 2:50 (not 3pm we asked for, but 2:50 - I thought this was amusing but thrilled nonetheless)

I have sometimes tried to get a say, 1:00 reservation at a specific restaurant using the on-line system, if that restaurant is unavailable, it will give you suggestions. However, rather than book elsewhere, try again for your desired restaurant for 1:30; again if that doesn't work, try 2:00pm, etc. If there is anytime in that general vancity, it will tell you.

Good luck. Here's some pixie dust you get what you're wishing for pixiedust:

We are going on the sames dates, I was able to book today, Le Cellier for lunch, Chef Mickeys for dinner, Prime time for lunch, and a few others, so I don't think you should have any problems, Sorry for your loss also. :grouphug:
