I don't understand what the big deal is about what people wear to eat. Who cares if the person sitting next to you is wearing shorts and a t-shirt (heck, they are sitting down, you really can't see what they're wearing on the bottom anyway). I guess I'm oblivious to my surroundings and am paying attention to who I'm with instead of checking out everyone else's outfits.
When I pick a restaurant, I'm picking it based on how good the food is, not on what I have to wear.
BTW...we did eat at the California Grill, once. We wore jeans and, I believe one or two of us had on t-shirts. Nobody, that I noticed anyway, but I'm oblivous, gave us a second glance. Oh, and the food wasn't all that great. Kona Cafe was just a good, if not better!
