Will we be seated with only part of party there?

We are travelling to WDW at the end of August. Although we do not have free dining (got a great rate on the rooms), our trip is during free dining, so I am assuming the TS restaurants will be very crowded.

We have 7 nights of ADRs made, all with my brother's family. Our ADRs are for a party of seven; our family is a party of 4. My brother and his family tend to run late a lot of the time. I am concerned that if we show up on time for dinner, but they do not, we may "lose" our table for dinner. Do you have any experiene with whether they will seat us without all of our party there, or whether we will have to wait until we are all there?

Please let me know of any experience you have with this, since I am starting to panic about it!

Haven't had this experience in about four years, but I remember that all party members had to be present. My DH and I would check in and let them know we were there and then we had to let them know when the rest of the party arrived before they would seat us. Now, that could have changed in four years, so hopefully someone else who has recently experienced this issue can offer you advice.

If you are willing to be seated without your brothers family. As in "Too bad, so sad that you're late, but we already ate" Then YES you will be seated without them.

If you want to be seated and have them join you in the middle of the meal then you're stuck waiting for your brothers family.

They are not required to seat you after your late, but most CM's try to accommodate the best that they can.

Everywhere we ate, they would not seat us until all our party was present. Since DH was usually either in the bathroom or retreiving forgotten items, we did have to wait a few times. The worst was at Akershus breakfast...we had forgotten our camera in the room. So DH had to go all the way back to Poly while the kids and I checked in...we had to wait 35 minutes to be seated!

Been there done that. They always sat us . I would just say they are in the bathroom or parking the car or something. As long as there wern't to far behind. I wouldn't do it if they were going to be longer then 15min's.

We always go with 7 or more people and they will not seat you until your full party is there. We've always been asked at check-in if everyone was there and personally I'm not going to tell the CM yes when we're not all there yet esp if I know someone is going to be late. But we've also never had a problem getting our table once everyone had arrived.

If it was me I tell them be there or else. Tell them you have to be xxx minutes ahead of time ex how late are they? Then add that & tell them if they are not there on time you will eat without them. All has to be present but sometimes if you see them coming just tell the hostess or host that they are coming as you see them (this only if you really do see them coming) The CM will either make you wait & sit another guest then sit your group. I told my DS & DIL if you are not there on time we will eat with out them but the last trip they were on time for the meals just not on time when meeting up lol

1) This is a case of practicality and capacity and profit.
2) If all are not present, you might decided to wait while at the table.
3) By waiting, you extend the time for the meal.
4) This, in turn, reduces the "turns" of the table.
5) The faster a table turns, the more eaters and the more revenue.
6) Thus, in most cases, you must all be present to be seated.
