Will we be okay with a single stroller

Hi everyone. First off, apologies for another stroller question. My twins will be five by the time our trip rolls around. They are very independent and enjoy walking. They haven't used a stroller in years. We hike together as a family and they can handle a stroller-free summer day at the zoo with no problem. That said, I know that WDW is another thing altogether and they'll probably get tuckered out at some point. After so many years without having to haul around a stroller, the idea of going back to lugging a double stroller on resort buses and navigating tight crowds fills me with dread. We were thinking of just renting a single since that would be cheaper and easier to maneuver than a double. We would then just rotate the occupants as needs dictated. Am I deluding myself? Should I just bite the bullet and plan on a double?

I wouldn't bring one at all. It really sounds like your kids can handle walking at WDW. Yes, it's a lot of walking, but it's considerably easier than hiking and it's broken up quite a bit. To me, walking 16 miles in one day at WDW feels easier than a 3 mile hike outdoors.

If you find that you do need one, you can always rent one.

Following. We're going in October and my 2 oldest will be 4.5 and almost 6. They havent used a stroller in a long time. Hoping they can share one and take turns when needed.

Our twins didn't use the stroller on the last trip to WDW (2.5 years old at the time). I should correct that, they used it once on the way towards the exit in AK when they fell asleep. It just became the bag carrier and a nuisance in crowds. That was it. They will be 5 this next trip and we won't be doing strollers, just planning breaks midday. At MK use the railroad to cut to different parts of the park and lessen walking distance. Other than that I would say ditch it or rent it when needed.

This makes me feel much better. I hadn't planned on getting a stroller at all (especially since we'll be four adults to two children) but my mom has gotten me freaked out about having to deal with meltdown city if I don't have a stroller. Is it a pain to rent strollers at the park on the day? Will they be sold out if we decide in the late afternoon that we need one? We'll be going over Columbus Day week.
