Me...Jen...The planner of this trip, I do everything, everyone else just goes with the flow...
DBF...Corey...2 trip to WDW...1st time on Property...Probably the most Layed back guy I know...
DD (7)..."Princess"...3rd Trip to WDW....2nd trip on property....
DMom (56)...Mom...Loves WDW...actually loves any vacation....if your going somewhere, she's coming with you...
DDad (51)...Dad...Can take or leave WDW....just goes because thats what we want to do...More of a Vegas guy...

March 21-28, Staying at POR
Last June was my first time on property. We took an all girls trip Me, DMom, DD, and Dsis. I loved staying on property, so I told DBF about staying on property, and was in...lets go he said...So I'm starting to look up pricing and then my mom says well me and your dad are going too...fine...look up prices for 2 Rooms, check out 1 room options and decided on POR, we book on January 3. We are all excited and the countdown begins...I book our ADR's, I find the Dis, and I'm off in a planning frenzie....
But there's a little set back...Remember I said on our all girls trip my sister went? Well originally she said she didn't want to go on our trip in March because she was going to St. Thomas in February...Well she changed her mind after we booked and wanted to go.
So I call back to reservations thinking it will just take a minute to add her. WRONG!!! 55 minutes I was on the phone...but after the hour things looked to be going in the right direction. We decided to switch resorts, getting 2 rooms at ASsports was much cheaper then 2 rooms at POR...
Now I have to call and add her to our ADR's, well you can't just add a person, they have to make all new ones and cancel the old ones...so finally that is done, and now we just have to enjoy our planning....everyones happy...but are they????
So now the original cast has changed and we add....

See my sister did not like staying on property...she felt "trapt"...So my dad who can take it or leave it, gets it in his head that we are going to be "trapt"...We try to tell them both they are not trapt, they can take a cab off property anytime they want to...So then we tell them if you don't like, don't go...and we end that conversation....
So February comes and DDad has a mild heart attack and is out of work....So he decides that this is not the time to be taking a vacation. He says he's going to stay home. We don't know whether to cancel him incase he changes his mind. We already have his flight and figure there's a chance he may want to go when the time comes...But 6 days before we leave he says he still is not going and to cancel him and maybe we can get a refund....
So I call reservations again...and tell them we have 1 less traveling with us, they do give us a partial refund for him, tell me I do not need to charge my ADR's, arriving with one less person won't be a problem...
So now our cast changes again....

So Saturday before we leave, DBF is working so DD and I take off for the day shopping for last minute things. Sunday I spend the day packing, I put all the luggage in the Kitchen so when we get home from work Monday we can grab it and leave...
So Monday morning come, DBF leaves for work, he normally works until 7 p.m., but is getting out at 3. He'll get out of work, take the dog to the boarding place.
I wake up DD and she pulls the whole "do I have to go to school today, I can't I'm to excited" Yes you are going to school, I'm leaving work at 2, picking you up and we're going to our hair appointments and then we are leaving...So I drop her off at school and head to work...
So I'm at work, trying to get everything caught up, because I'M LEAVING FOR DISNEY!!!!! So I'm doing work, but checking out the Dis to get any last minute pointers....
And then it happens....
The phone rings "Good Morning, This is Jen"....the other person on the line says "hi Jen, this is Kurt from the Mill" I'm thinking its the local mill we deal with and then he continues...."Corey's been in a accident and is being transported to the hospital by ambulance." I'm thinking, THIS CANNOT BE HAPPENING, WE ARE LEAVING FOR WDW IN 2 1/2 HOURS....So I get off the phone and drive to the hospital 45 minutes away, I call my mother to let her know whats going.
I arrive at the hospital, and he's in the ER and they tell me he has 2nd degree burns on his eyes, stomach, and arm, and they have to admit him...
I leave the hospital to go pick up my dd from school, thinking how do I tell a 7 year old she's no longer going to disney....then my sister calls and tells me her and my mom will still take DD. She says she will drive up and pick her up (we live 2 1/2 hours from each other) I agree, and when I get back to the hospital I tell Corey the plan, and he agree's too....
So while they're deciding his room arrangements, I run DD to the hairdressers. My hairdresser does not work on Monday's but said she would come in and cut our hair before we leave, so we go, DD gets her hair cut, we leave, we're driving back to the hospital and it hits me.....
I can't let her go...this happened for a reason.....she can't go thousands of miles away from me....I just can't let her go....but how do I tell her....how do I tell my mom and sister....but it's just to weird....2 1/2 hours before we leave? Somethings just not right....and I tell myself....NO WAY IS SHE GOING WITHOUT ME....
So we get back to the hospital, he's in his room by now, and I tell Corey how I'm feeling and he tells me if I'm not comfortable then don't send her. So we ask her the BIG question...."Princess, do you want to go to disney tomorrow with Grammie and Auntie, or do you want to wait for daddy?" and her answer......she wants to wait...she wants to know how much longer, but says she'll wait...
I go out to the nurses station, who at this point all knew we were supposed to be in disney the next day and asked if I could use the phone to call reservations, once again....
So I don't have the trip insurance, so I'm not sure what they are going to be able to do for me. I told him the situation, and he asked what dates were good, we went back and forth and decided on April 30-May 7...he also told me we would have a credit of $400 and we were all set. So I call my mom let her know the new dates and everything looks good.
Now after reading this, you obviously must know that there's going to be another problem right? Well there was.....
So I get back in DBF's hospital room and his phone rings...its my sister, she reminds me that my DD is making her First Communion on the 7th....I tell her I will figure it out when I get home.....
So I get home figure out new dates call the reservation line one more time book our new dates and finally I think I'm done....Then I remember....I have to change all my ADR's, I wait until the next night to do that, its been a long day and I'm ready for bed....
But wait....Now I have to deal with the flights....which went pretty easy, I changed the dates, they waived the $50 fee and saved us $20/each on our new flights....NOW I'm going to bed...
So the next day I called to change all my ADR's, make the new ones first, cancel the old ones second...DONE....That is the last time I'm calling disney.....or is it.....
NOPE....as I was going through our ADR's I realized, it would be much cheaper to do the dining plan....well we had a problem, remember my sister who butted into the vacation, well she don't want the DDP....and guess what...We are on the same reservation, so I called AGAIN...to see if there was anything they could do. So they tell me they can change the 1 reservation to 2 and add the DDP to mine....YEE HAA...we have the DDP, the CM then says WOW...you have a lot of changes on your reservation....YEAH, NO KIDDING....
So tomorrow will be our 3 week countdown, and if everything goes as planned, we are going May 16-23, staying at ASSports, DBF, DD and Me on the dining plan, Mom and Dsis not on the dining plan. I also booked the BBB for my DD the day we get there....I went with the Castle Package as I feel she really needed a special surprise, since she did wait 2 extra months to go....
So if all goes well I will be back with my trip report ......Wish me luck!!!
