Will this end up being the pandemic that cried wolf?

How does that work when your boss calls you up and tells you to report to work on Monday? You can’t lean on the stay at home order.
The governor is following the phased opening guidelines. Based on those guidelines if you can telecommute you should telecommute until phase 3.

If you have a non telecommute job then it will certainly be a tough personal choice between potential exposure and unemployment.

I don’t know what is more frustrating, the dismissiveness of the horror occurring in the NY Tri-State, or the “well the virus isn’t bad in my state!”.

You should be glad if the virus is not bad in your state. I’m insanely jealous if the virus isn’t bad in your state. The fact that some people honestly visit extended family with limited risk hurts my heart. My envy grows each and every day for those states.

I hope God helps you find gratitude in what you have. Because right now, this North New Jerseyian is having her faith tested.

There is plenty of room in the morgues for say 90% of the country.

Honest question and not snarky, but do you believe that the situation in some of the hotspots is isolated to those areas or do you expect that eventually this virus will spread and infect a large majority of people, and do you think the number of deaths (adjusted for population) will happen elsewhere eventually? Just trying to understand the different opinions people have.

And, not restricted to the PP I quoted, interested in anyone’s feedback.

At some point all people will have a decision to make if they want to continue to self isolate or not.

This was an issue as we were shutting down. A lot of non-essential employees stopped gong to work. And states are totally overwhelmed with respect to processing unemployment claims. I read that Florida has processed 6% so far. And with tourism as such a huge industry there, residents are going to be in big trouble soon. Many will have no job to even go back to whenever they do open it all up and with unemployment checks far off....it's going to be very hard on families.

Umm yeah like weeks from now. It hasn’t been long enough.
Thats your decision so as I understand you will stay isolated longer. I will not nor does any other member of my extended family. I respect your decision fully.

I’ve been to ER at work no joke NYC got very lucky. That said summer might make this much easier heat 150 degres sanitizes a mask. So 90’degree day will probably make spreading much less likely. But actions at what here has been a cool damp spring probabbly saved another 100k from dying. In NY alone,

I just read Georgia’s numbers are going up. 19 more cases today than yesterday. Doesn’t seem to fit the guidelines set by the government of a 14 day downward trajectory.
It is not based on day to day variations , 14 day trend, plus they are looking at hospitalization more than new cases

No most non-essential workers that could not work from home got fired or furloughed because their business closed.

And just getting is a problem because there not really sure effects it has on pregnancies, and many other after initial issues, so it is not like the flu where in almost most cases you are fine when you’re done.

Isolated because we now know who to protect, who is high risk/nursing homes.
