Will they let us order off the kids menu?

My boyfriend and I are dining at Sci-Fi for dinner in a few days and was wondering if they'd allow us to order off the kids menu. We're both light eaters AND we'll be celebrating his birthday while we're there (hoping they'll say yes when they see his birthday pin). Have any of you adults attempted to order off the kids menu at this restaurant or at others before? Are they strict about this? Thanks for your input! :)

I have ordered off the kids menu several times at Sci Fi, It shouldn't be a problem.

Just had to ask, I looked at the kids menu and, well :scared:

What was on the menu that you liked? No flames intended, just curious :) I like the environment, but we stick to simple burgers there

thanks,

The servings are pretty big there, so for the past 2 years for lunch there, my DBF and I have gotten an appetizer and an entree to split. It is the perfect amount to fill us up and we have neevr had a problem splitting. In fact, when we split the reuben, they brought us out two separate plates- each with half a reuben and a LOAD of fries on each. It was a great deal so I recommend splitting!

My dd is 17 and she's ordered off the kids' menu before. (She's oddly fond of their mac & cheese.) ;) I can't remember if it was the SciFi but some places where she did this would give a bigger "adult" portion of the kids meal and charge more which was fine with us. If this is the case, the server will tell you when you place your order.

This usually happens when dd isn't that hungry at meal time so she'll either order an appetizer and dessert or a kid's meal instead of an entree.

They used to have a kids plate that had a grilled chicken breast on it. The size of the meal was just right. I'm not a big meal eater so it worked out great. It's not on the menu anymore.

Now when I go I usually just get the BLT soup--and it is very good!

Yeah I would suggest splitting too (if they won't let you order of the kid's menu). My husband and I do that often and it saves money...and helps us leave room for dessert! I have ordered the kid's meals at the counter service before, but never at a sit down. Good Luck!

That's what I was looking for! I looked at the menu and was thinking..well you know ;)
Thanks!
