"Will they keep this/cancel that" We are now Live from WDW, the Nicki & Todd show!

:worship: :cloud9: :worship: Those sound perfect!

The Wave looked wonderful! DH has been wanting to try it, so it may end up on the schedule for our summer trip now :goodvibes

Where are you planning for your summer trip?

I'm ditching Kona for The Wave! You've convinced me.:yay:

Great! I am so glad that we did!

Hi Nic,

I discovered the Writers Shop in Nov. My DS2 was napping and the guys went to see the Stunt Show. I had a nice cappuccino there and flipped thru some books while DS napped. It was such a cute place to hang out. I wish I would have known about the Carrot Cake Cookies! I heard about them afterwards on a podcast. I believe they're filled with cream cheese frosting! I can't wait to go back to try one!:cloud9: Mare

I wish I was hungry enough to try that carrot cake whoopi pie thing, the CM said it has won awards!

Can you hear my wail all the way to WDW????!

I had debated and debated The Wave vs. Kona for a dinner on 2/21/09 and ultimately decided on Kona because we were staying at the Poly. Kona was really, really, really disappointing! I would not recommend Kona for dinner to anyone at this point. You made the right choice! Love the descriptions of the food...next time, definitely The Wave.

Next time you gotta go to the Wave...the one time we had dinner at Kona DH liked it but it was just eh for me...so glad we switched

Where to start, where to start....

OK, that french toast at GFC looks absolutely yummy - I love french toast so will definitely have to try and get there for some.

The Wave had never really appealed to me, despite hearing some good reviews but I think I've just changed my mind after seeing the picture of that pork dish. Pork is my favourite meat and that looked absolutely delicious. None fo the dessert combos really appeal to me and, it's got to be said that I'm a pudding person. However, I reckon the pork may outweigh the lack of appealing desserts :thumbsup2

I very rarely eat pork at restaurants but this one, wow it was sooo melt in your mouth wonderful!

:woohoo: :woohoo: Great Report!!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Your pictures are to die for. As well as your reports. Everything looks so wonderful. It's like how do you ever decide where to go after seeing your posts? I want to go everywhere!!! :rotfl: We are going to make our dinning ressies tomorrow for our June trip and now I may have to rethink and try to fit the Wave in. Man does that look delicious! I'm drooling.

Have a great MK day! :flower3:

Thats my problem too, every time we stumble on a new super yummy place it is hard to decide where to fit it in for the next trip!

Yes', we've done Tony's and we've done LeCellier. So I think I'm safe from ANY MORE NEW ONES popping up...at least this trip. We like Tony's--we've done lunch and dinner. I won't tell you which we prefer until you have your dinner and do your review.

Enjoy today's adventures.

Sure make me wait   Cannot wait to try it tonight!

Everything looks wonderful!! Looking forward to the rest of your reviews! Have a wonderful time!

Thank you!

Great update. Man that burger at Sci Fi looked great. When we were at DHS on Sunday, I wanted a burger so bad, but they weren't doing walk up at Sci Fi and we already had an ADR for Brown Derby. I wish we would have made it for Sci Fi, which is another one of our favorites. Oh well, next time! I had such a hankering for a burger on this trip and I had to settle for a CS burger at Liberty Inn at Epcot - not very good at all - but it was almost 9:00 p.m. and that was my only choice for a burger that night!!

The Wave looks very good too and I'm going to check out their menu and possibly consider it for our Summer visit.

You know we always loved Beaches and Cream but I think the edge goes to Sci Fi...yes the NWJ sundae rocks but boozy millshakes trump sundaes anyday!

Great Reviews Nicki...sure beats the Smart one I'm eating right now!! Wow, the wave looks amazing I might have to reconsider and try to eat there sometime!!!

If you can fit it in go for it, its a winner!

Aloha ya'll! Back from day at MK and time for a rest until dinner at Tony's tonight. We slept in and were still at MK by 8:30 am and in plenty of time for rope drop...never saw the opening of MK before so that was a treat, no lines either.

We were in front of Main Street Bakery before they opened, the first ones in line. I saw through the window a huge pan of cinnamon buns and croissant sandwiches but no french toast loaf...no fear since I was first I would get a nice big slab of it.

In no time there was a huge line behind me, the doors opened right at 9am and I ordered a fruit cup, a cinnamon bun which the CM granted my request for a center one and slathered extra frosting on it, a ham egg and cheese croissant and a french toast load. Her response to that? "We do not have the french toast loaf" I said, Oh is it not ready yet? Her reply?

THE FRENCH TOAST LOAF HAS BEEN RETIRED, WE WILL NO LONGER OFFER IT

And our faces looked like this :scared1: :scared1:

I said come on seriously? The manager guy was there and he said, Yes ma'am we are sorry to report that we have officially retired the french toast loaf and will no longer offer it at the Main Street Bakery. Omigod I was in shock! DH opted for an everything bagel with cream cheese instead.

The fruit was very good, cold and fresh and tasty

Jan25004-3.jpg

The bagel was awesome, nice and crispy and chewy and tons of flavor

Jan25003-3.jpg

I am totally in love with the breakfast croissant, the ham is sliced very thin and not salty at all, the cheese is stuffed in the folded egg omelet and when you bite into it the cheese oozes out..sooo yummy! The croissant is delish!

Jan25001-3.jpg

The cinnamon bun was sweet and warm and soooo good it should be illegal!

Jan25002-3.jpg

Of course we will still go to MSB, even though we can no longer get our beloved FTL.

Goodbye yummy friend, you will be missed by many! :sad1:

Mental note... Space Monkey and onion rings... (and a choc. milkshake for Cait...) at the Sci fi.

I'm planning on the Wave already, so YUM! Shall I let you know when I get ready to make ressies? (lol!) I'll have you look over the list in July, and tell me what you think... :thumbsup2

I'm looking forward to the Tony's review... we haven't really thought of it, but maybe.

Can't wait for more!

Early in the am at MK is the best, no lines for anything! We went on many rides with out a wait and watched the Dreams show in front of the castle and then the new Move it Shake it parade, that was really cool! We had to munch so here is some wonderful popcorn!

Jan25005-3.jpg

Jan25006-3.jpg

And some parade pics for you

And still in a snacking mode, we headed to Tomorrowland and Auntie Gravity's for a chocolate ice cream root beer float...DH is the strange one that got me hooked on these...dates back to his childhood at the NJ Stewart's Root Beer Stands...it is very good!

Jan25021-3.jpg

After finishing off Tomorrowland we we went in search for lunch. His fav, Pirate and the Parrot was opened for lunch so off we went. On the way the eggroll stand in Adventureland was open and he had to get a shrimp and pork one...blech from me but he loves em!

Jan25014-4.jpg

Jan25007-3.jpg

Jan25017-2.jpg

And on to his lunch of beef tacos with yellow rice. He loved the tacos but said the rice was clumped and pasty and had no flavor at all. The topping bar has cheese, onions, salsa, lettuce and taco sauce.

Notice I didnt eat here, thats because this place bites back....the taste stays with ya all day and night long!

I wanted to go back to CHH...I just love the food there and wanted to get a BLT chicken salad. The line was crazy, the park had started to get very full and the wait was pretty long. We did sit upstairs which is nice and empty and very quiet.

The salad has mixed greens, onion, crispy real bacon (not bac-o bits) grape tomatoes and hard boiled eggs. Very fresh and wonderful and I ate the entire thing!

THE FRENCH TOAST LOAF HAS BEEN RETIRED, WE WILL NO LONGER OFFER IT

Goodbye yummy friend, you will be missed by many! :sad1:

Now that was what the CM behind the counter said, when I asked for it in February!!!! :scared1:
I hate it when I just don't catch what they say, so I guessed they were just not offering it that day we had breakfast there.

By the way we had the Croissant sandwich and the Cinnamon bun for breakfast as well :lmao: Guess on whose review I found that recommandation!!!

Have a magical afternoon - I cannot wait for that review of Tony's, we have dropped it 3 times now :rotfl: maybe YOU can lure us in!

Onto Main Street Confections...I am in love with the Gingerbread men there so I thought I would pick up a bunch for the trek home....only to find out they no longer have them....I am telling you today was a day of sadness, mourning the foods that I love. Now I have to find new snacks so I have a reason to come back to WDW! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

While DH was looking for a snack replacement for me I was picture happy

This is the new Celebration fudge, it is a white chocolate fudge with marshmallows and birthday cake in it with sprinkles...they were giving away free samples, DH liked it but I thought it was sicky sweet and barely nibbled it (but dont take my word for it as I cannot stand fudge and was just trying it to get the pushy CM off my case.....I think she was trying to make nice with me because I was sooo mad they no longer had my gingerbread cookies!)

Jan25039-1.jpg

Todd bought a candy apple, the red candy style (havent eated it yet but will take a pic of it later) and this wonderful fresh rice krispie treat. Have not had one of these in a long time and it was awesome!

Jan25040-1.jpg

We had a great time at MK today and cannot wait to go back for dinner at Tony's and fireworks. The weather is gorgeous and life is great, except for the teenage neighbors we have that insist on pumping the volume up full blast while we are trying to sleep at night...if you open the door to the hallway the entire second floor is filled with music! Ok now I sound like a 90 year old!

Check in with you guys later tonight!

I was so sad there for a little bit -- I never got a chance to try the french toast loaf; I loved the Mickey gingerbread men -- but then you showed me pics of the new Celebration fudge, and I am happy again! I love fudge and can't wait to try it!!!

Are the souvenir popcorn buckets celebration themed as well? I couldn't quite see what it was in your photos.

Lots to catch up on, y'all have been very busy!

We love the burgers at Sci-Fi, haven't had the o-rings yet, I always thought they looked greasy. But if Nicki says they're not, they'll be on my must do list!:thumbsup2

We almost had dinner at The Wave last year but opted to go back to Fulton's for a second time, the menu at The Wave just didn't appeal to us. Now it's back on my list!:goodvibes

I'm sad about the French Toast Loaf at MSB, I never got to try it.:sad1:

You guys seem to be having a great time as always!

No more french toast loaf? :sad1:  That's not fair, I haven't had it yet :headache: The kids shared it & a cinnamon roll in December but since DH was sick, we didn't get to MK early enough to get it :headache:

Gotta say, the tacos & fixings bar do nothing for me :confused3 CHH is really good though :thumbsup2 The salad looked very yummy :goodvibes

As for our summer plans, well :rolleyes1 127 days to go we're well outside of the 90 day ADR mark so nothing is "planned" planned. HBD is a must for DH (and the rest of us), The Wave is on our list of "want to try" and Raglan Road (might save that for F&W though) other than that, I'm not sure. DH & I will have one special meal for our anniversary, but we haven't decided what yet. Maybe Bistro, or Flying Fish or ???

We've never been to Tony's, so guess I'll have to wait till tonight to see if we want to add that to our list

:sad2: :sad1: :scared:

Nooooooo! So sad! I only discovered the French Toast Loaf in Oct 2008 and I've been craving it since then!

RIP Yummiest Baked good in the MK!

:sad1: :sad1: No, that is two things on this trip DH is not going to be able to try that he wanted to try: first the sweet potato pancakes at Boatwright's and now the french toast loaf. Oh....this is a sad day. :sad2:

OMG, this thread is just heaven. :cloud9:

Even considerin' the French Toast Loaf has passed on. :lmao:

I've got my May ADRs, but I'm gonna use this thread to make my Sep ADRs. ::yes::

OMG!!! I can't believe they retired the French Toast Loaf!!! :scared1:

That was the ONLY thing my picky DS5 ate at the Main St. Bakery, he's the only child I know that doesn't like breakfast pastries! But he LOVED the French Toast Loaf! Funny thing is, DS2 will eat a muffin the size of his head! :rotfl: DS5 won't touch them!

I'm going to have to plan something else now. We can't go there. He really won't eat anything (he a waffle, french toast, pancake kid :))

Oooh, Nick, he loved the gingerbread men tooo. How can they do this to a five year old!! All his favorites!!!!:sad2:

I'm so sad. :sad1:
