Will they ever do a Poly DVC?

I guess I'll keep dreaming. Maybe buy the time I pay off my DVC at BWV they will have rumors of the Poly.

My DH and I aren't interested in owning at the Contemporary either, but a Poly DVC would most definitely get our money!

Maybe they could just put it where the TTC is. Just joking! I am sure that that would never happen.

I agree that the parking area at the Poly is a prime target for expansion. They can always revamp parking somehow.

I still think a reort along the MK/EPCOT monorail (e.g., STOL) would make sense for a DVC if anothera stand alone one is built. Plenty of room, easy road/utility access, and monorail access.

Yeah but then they'd have to build another platform. And isn't much of that land deemed "conservation area"?

As for the original question, while I like the idea of a Poly resort I can't say I'm really impressed with Poly. It has a good location but the Grand Ceremonial House is kept too darn cold (feels like the artic in there) and the resort decor is so 1970's. At least with the Contemporary you have a retro-60's thing happening. 70's style was just yucky to me.

Now if they added at Grand Floridian I could see my taste being appealed to.

Well the temperature is easily fixed.

As far as 70's style... Hmmm...
The resort is heavily themed, and really knows no date. They do "modernize" (anyone remember the old white tile floor?), but the overall theme is timeless.
They did recently bring in new furniture and such.

Yup, I would buy at the poly. The only problem is what would I sell?? :confused3

Disney can do whatever they want...they have proven that! Look at THV's....no one thought they could ever do anything with them and now they are. As far as KTV expansion, I doubt they will do anything more than the one building, but I believe there has been rumors of plans for a second tower at the south wing, which would most likely be more CRO rooms, more DVC rooms at KTV would not alleviate anything, for every room they build there are that many more members!

As far as Poly, I doubt there will be anything in the near future, would think GF would possibly get some DVC first, just because of the space issues and easy theming. I wouldn't be surprised if all the Deluxe resorts don't eventually have some DVC (would actually be surprised if they didn't), but I think that is a long way off. Slow, consistent additions are the key to DVC, build/sell/build/sell....I think the two resort options at WDW for sales has worked very well for DVC, it gives options to prospective purchasers, which I am sure helps with sales.

How about a kidney??

My dream is a DVC at the poly...it was my first on site stay and will always be my favorite

I'm with those that have no interest in the Contemporary. But we would buy at the Poly in a heart beat.

Us too!

I also think it depends on what occupancy is like. CR and AKL were not 100% booked at full rack-rate prices. If POLY is not being booked at capacity - they could always turn a section of it into DVC and not even bother with a new building.

I would love DVC at the Polynesian. It will always be my favorite. However, I'm not sure if it will ever be done. The Poly is very popular and they would probably make more money off the traditional rack rates than to have a DVC. But I hope they do do it! ;)

We select a resort to stay at based on the theme of the resort. We love the south Pacific, so we like to go to Poly just because of that. On the other hand, we would never stay at the contemporary because we hate the theme...

I don't think the Poly will be touched. Disney will go to the piece of land by the TTC to build. It can be a stand alone or they can tie it in with the POLY. They can do what they want as it is close enough to the poly to tie it in. I think it will be a standalone. DVC is selling bigtime, and it's selling at WDW. They went offsite before only to pull the plug. Now they are going after vacation destinations, DUH. Hawaii, Calif. This is what we want to see. They will build where the money is. Period!

I would love Poly DVC but I don't see it happening for a long time. The Cont. building is going to be huge.

We wouldn't even have to discuss whether or not we'd buy Poly DVC. We'd do it in a heartbeat!!

We would definitely buy into DVC at the Poly if it ever happened! The Contemporary isn't our thing-gorgeous view, but we just don't like the feel of the resort itself.

hey would be very happen with a DVC resort on the monrail period!

that say really though a couple of years ago with the Polyn had that mold problem - that those building would become part of DVC. Okay more of a hope and wish.

but instead Disney spend a fortune redoing the complete inside - torn down everything except the outside wall and started over.

so don't believe there will be one at the Polyn - at least not for 15 more years if then.

that doesn't stop you from wishin' and dreamin'......

they did the BCV in the valet parking lot. they might do that - except for the area needed for handicapped parking.
