Well, we had two Gulf Wars without a draft. So I hope not. The pay and benefits, and training the military has offered in since the draft went away in 1973 appear to be enough to motivate enough people to sign up.
The chance has to be close to zero. Today's modern warfare is so different than even 30 years ago and the world is so much smaller (we could attack anywhere at any time right now). The amount of manpower needed is also considerably less than it once was and we could never build the amount of planes, ships, etc in time to necessitate that large of a military. I think we currently have something like 10 aircraft carriers in service now compared to the 150 that were built during WW2.
By reading this I can tell you haven’t spent one day in the military. Correct me if I’m wrong
