Not at DHS. Universal Orlando has an exclusive contract with Marvel/Disney for the use of a lot of the Marvel characters in East coast parks. Captain America is one of the characters covered by this agreement.

Are you sure. I thought they only had rights to Characters already in use at Universal/IOA in Attractions. I'm 99% sure that DOESN'T cover cap. Whether TDO does anything is another story

Someone posted a link to the agreement in another thread. I believe it's any character used in a "more than incidental way" or language to that effect. Since Cap'n has a restaurant and is an M&G character, I'm guessing that's "more than incidental."

One of the things the contract says is that if Unviersal uses one member of a character "family" they have the rights to all other memebers of that family. The contract specifically mentions The Avengers as an example of a family, and since Hulk is part of the Avengers, that gives them all the other Avengers characters which includes Captain America.

I forgot about the Captain America Diner, that would probably also qaulify them to have the rights to that character. Interestingly, the contact specifically says that having a character doing a M&G is not enough to qualify.

Just imagine. Captain America's brand new ride is on every promotion for at least 6 months....countdown to it's opening. The night before during soft opening rides and dress rehersal, his head falls of.......just like the Dragon in DL's fantasmic.
The Fantasmic dragon was the centerpiece of their marketing for the summer promotions for DL......it's image was everywhere. The dragon finally showed up in September.......after all the summer promotions were done.
Maybe they can build the ride next to EE......so Captain America can keep Betty the Yeti company!!
I would expect to see an expansion to Lucasland or Pixar Place before I ever actually see ideas of a Captain America themed ride, I could possibly see a Marvel character(s) in The Great Movie Ride should they ever refurb the ride.
