Will the Universal Excitement pass work for us?

We will be going to US 12-20 and IOA 12-24. I was pricing tickets on Universal's website and came across this. The cost is $75.00, which would save us $100 over the normal 2 day 2 park passes which would run is $99.95 if I order them in advance.

My AAA travel agent is also checking into prices. Does anyone know how much of a discount they offer?

What do you think? Am I missing something here? The only difference I see is that you have a date restriction of 5 days, but since we will be there on the 20th and 24th, we should fit in the date span. We have never been to US or IOA and am not familiar with their ticketing.

Thanks!

Jess,

Can I ask where you are seing this. I am in Universal's site and can't seem to find this????

Thanks

Ok, I called and this is what they said.

Yes, the ticket is cheaper, giving you 5 days admission to both parks for %75, but she said that you had to go every day. There could be no gap, you couldn't skip a day.

That makes no sense to me at all! Why should you have to go every single day? I think I will call later on to see if I get the same answer from someone else.

Hmmmm, my screen says $99.95 :confused3 .

I think I'm gonna shut everything down and clear my cookies to see what I come up with......

I'm interested in hearing what they have to say. I ordered these passes for my family to use in a week & 1/2. We're spending 5 nights @ HRH, but we were planning to take a day off from the parks to lounge by the pool in a cabana. If it's necessary, we'll walk to over to US & go in for a little while. I'd like to know for certain though.

Yep, it worked..I now see the price you guys do :thumbsup2 .

The lady is wrong, unless this is some new policy, which I doubt. I have purchased the "consecutive day" every time I go to Universal. It expires 5 days after you activate it, including the day you activate. Actually, the description when you click on the ticket pretty clearly states that that.

The $75 for 5 days is the best price I've seen in a while.

Ok, I called again.

I spoke to someone at the 877-801-9720 number listed. She said that you do not have to go every single day. You can skip days and they would expire since you have 5 days to use them. That makes sense to me.

She then gave me another number for their Online Ticketing, 407-224-7840. The girl at this number told me the same thing, you do not have to go every singe day, you would just lose out on those days. I also asked, since we aren't going until December if they would work for us, since I didn't see any time frame on these tickets. She said we could get them now, save them until December and we will be fine.

So I will be purchasing them, at $75 each, it is saving us about $100 total, the 2 day 2 park passes were $99.95 each.

Thanks for everyone's help!

So, you don't get the actual tickets...just a receipt/voucher? We probably wouldn't use these till next year (or end of this year)...Is there a time frame to have to pick them up w/ the electronic ticketing...I didn't see any other shipping options, so if I buy them now, would I be able to pick them up next year? ........or should I call and ask the girl? How long are they valid for before the first day of use? (Thinking of buying for my niece, but her mom might not let her go, so, if she didn't get to use them for like 2 or 3 years, would they still be valid---AND, since I wouldn't have the actual ticket, could I still get the voucher?) Sorry i'm confusing.....

I was just coming to post. Thought I'd better bite the bullet and buy our tickets. I started to panic because I couldn't find the buy 2 days/3 free tickets. Then I saw the UO Excitement Passes for $75 and was floored. This will save us about $100! Way to go US! :cloud9:

Jessd,
Thanks for calling back to confirm. It sounds like these tickets are the same as usual. This is the cheapest we've ever gotten the 5 day pass. :cool1:

When I called, I specificially asked them, If I buy them now and not use them until December, are they still valid? They said yes.

I really don't like the electronic ticket option, I would much rather have the ticket in my hand. I didn't see any other shipping options. I don't know about holding on to them for 2-3 years and them still being valid. I have never used an electronic park ticket before. If you do call and ask them, I would be very curious as to what the answer would be. Why didn't they have an option to send the ticket?

This looks like something that I might be interested in. I just purchased the 2 parks/3 months pass from Costco but they can be returned and I will receive a full refund. This option saves me about $25 or so.

You can upgrade to the Stay and Scream once you are at the park.

Hi, I've never posted on this board. I also called the online ticket office with questions about how this would work. He specifically told me that if any tickets held over for electronic delivery would expire Dec 31 of this year with no refund. The way it was explained to me was that upon order confirmation I would receive a "pin code" that I would use at the kiosk upfront at the park. At the kiosk I would use the cc I paid with and type in my pin code. Sort of like when you get your tickets at the airport, for those who have done that. If it saves you more money, think about calling to see if you could have the fedex option for $15 if they don't expire this year. The universal man told me that this was a limited time offer to see how well it does. I hope this helped.

Thanks for the information about the Dec 31 expiration date!

Hi,

I just booked this Excitement Pass. It is 319 for my family of four, which saved me at least 30 dollars over their current 2 park 3 free days deal. I couldn't actually book online, their server is not behaving. He said there are a variety of prices out there for this offer...if you call 407-224-7840 and choose option 1, they can book you at the $75.00 rate. I'm so excited to save a few bucks!
