Will the Universal Excitement pass work for us?

I have already ordered my Stay and Scream Tickets for Oct 12. Does anybody how you upgrade your park tickets when you get there?

I am planning to order the Excitement Passes but I am a little nervous about the electronic ticketing system. My HHN passes are electronic but I didn't realize this until I got my email. Has anyone had problems with this?

Thanks for all the info :wave2:

Hi, I've never posted on this board. I also called the online ticket office with questions about how this would work. He specifically told me that if any tickets held over for electronic delivery would expire Dec 31 of this year with no refund. The way it was explained to me was that upon order confirmation I would receive a "pin code" that I would use at the kiosk upfront at the park. At the kiosk I would use the cc I paid with and type in my pin code. Sort of like when you get your tickets at the airport, for those who have done that. If it saves you more money, think about calling to see if you could have the fedex option for $15 if they don't expire this year. The universal man told me that this was a limited time offer to see how well it does. I hope this helped.

Odd, I just called and the rep said "once you purchase the tickets, they are in the system until you pick them up"....i told him i didn't see an expiration date on the offer, and he double checked and said the only expiration was 4 days after first use. I was telling him I probably wanted to buy some now for Xmas gifts and they would be used next summer...and he said that wouldn't be a problem.

We could use these in January, hope they don't expire in December.

Do you have a link to purchase the Stay and Scream Tickets? :goodvibes

I'm interested in buying these for next summer but I am worried about the Dec. 31 expiration. Anyone else have thoughts on this?? We've done the eticket before but it was within the same year. Has anyone done eticket that went over the end of the calendar year??

nope, haven't done past the calendar year eticket, but from what i understand, once you purchase the tickets, the transaction stays in the system until you pick them up. I called and inquired about end of the year expiration date (cuz it's not stated anywhere in the offer--just available offer for a limited time) and the man on the phone double checked and told me the only expiration date was 4 days after 1st use. I told him I was thinking of buying some for Christmas gifts for next summer and he didn't say otherwise....if you want to put your mind to rest, call them and ask yourself.

The only problem with this is that I have read that 2 different people have called and received 2 completely different answers!! One says no expiration and the other says expires Dec. 31!! I was hoping some DISer had personal experience because I trust DISers more than the CSRs!

Maggie

OK. So I called the online ticket number and spoke with Peter today (7/19/06) at 10 am CST and he assured me there was NO expiration date and could be used ANY time. So if anyone goes and has problems, you can blame Peter.

Maggie

maggiew: just keep ALL printouts and receipts..if you can print the offer, do it...that way if they give you a hard time, you have proof and all sorts of printouts that don't have an expiration date on them. Besides, if you say you called and talked to Peter, I'm sure they will "satisfy the customer"....Universal seems to be better at that than most others.

I'm sorry if I gave out wrong information. I also called back to ask about expiration dates and any sort of refunds. I asked again about expiration dates and was told that there was no expiration. I'm very sorry about any confusion I created from my first post.

Maggie, it's been a few years but we've purchased etickets before where we've picked them up the following calendar year. No problem!

Based on the fact that there was no expiration date, we just purchased the Excitement pass for our party of three's vacation next February. I don't expect any problem with Universal honoring them although I'll have receipt at the ready, just in case. At any rate, thanks for calling and letting us know what was said.

Hi all
I e-mailed universal and this is the reply I received today

Hello Sharon,

Thank you for your interest in Universal's Online Ticket Store. All online reservations for both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Florida are handled by Universal's Online Ticket Store here in Orlando. Usually, regular theme park tickets do not expire until they're actually used. If no date is asked for, then you should be able to use the ticket on any date you wish. If you purchased any special or promotional tickets online, some of those tickets do have specific expiration or "use by" dates.

The Excitement Pass is a new online promotion being offered in certain geographic areas. This Excitement Pass does not have any specific expiration or "use by" and is good for 5 consecutive days to both Universal Studios Orlando and Islands of Adventure. The price is one price for all ages 3 and up. All online specials or promotions may have specific expiration dates and/or restrictions for use and any special or promotion can end at anytime without notice. Do read the Complete Ticket Details listed for each online ticket on the pricing page for further information before making any online purchase.

For any issues concerning online ticket purchases, please contact the Online Ticket Store at 1-407-224-7840. Travel Counselors are available between the hours of 8 am and 10 pm Monday through Friday and from 9 am until 8 pm on Saturdays and Sunday, Eastern Standard Time.
Thank you for your interest in Universal and have a great day!

I hope that is of help. I am going to print it and take it with me as we are not going till next June

How can I get the Excitement passes for $75?

I'm taking a few friends next week and this would be great for them. When I go to the website, I only see the $99 one...

I talked to marketing yesterday and they have withdrawn the external links to the excitement pass. I believe you can call the online ticket store and still order them though.

Tried the number today. Was told it's gone and that they only have the $99 pass now.

Thanks Nerdboyrockstar, I don't know much about the online ticket store. When I talked to marketing, I was asking why when some people go to the ticket page they see the kids free and others see the excitement pass. He told me that it was set up that way to target different demographics. He said even if the person only saw the kids free ticket that they could order the excitement by phone. He then told me that all the excitement ticket links had been disabled. I just assumed that meant the excitement passes were still available by phone. It looks like the $75 excitement pass has been eliminated.

I also asked about the Beall's code and he wasn't aware they had changed the wording to be for FL residents but would look into that.
