Will the monorail to EPCOT come back this year?

Apologies if this has already been asked , but does anyone have any thoughts on the Epcot monorail coming back online before the holidays? We're staying at BLT for Christmas and booked a car rental after seeing the threads about bus delays on here, but really wouldn't need it if the monorail to Epcot comes back. Wishful thinking probably? Just love the highway in the sky and always enjoy that entrance into Epcot!

Yeah this exactly. No need for the Epcot line until hopping is back. If you are parking at TTC, you are going to MK. And the 2 monorail resorts that have monorail access currently can take buses to Epcot.

What happened to rumor that Epcot Monorail needed a re-design for temp check/ security merge. I thought they were going to change that ramp since guests already had temp screening before they would have boarded the monorail. Maybe that is part of delay .

Maybe that is part of delay plus Disney doesn’t actually have enough monorails for limited Covid capacity and MK Resort Service that resort guests pay premium for versus all those other guests going to Epcot. MK is their priority cause $$$

The Epcot monorail exit area had already been reconfigured so that it exited into a secured area/you didn’t have go through screening twice. That had happened pre-pandemic.

I hope so, but it certainly wouldn't surprise me if it didn't. Disney seems pretty content into milking this for all they can. They've been really slow to bring most things bacj.

Disney is not milking this for all they can - they don’t want to lay-off employees and lose money. They are proceeding with openings and changes cautiously because of the current situation in the world.

We'll agree to disagree. They're a business...so I get it's about money; but I stand by my opinions that they're definitely taking advantage of the situation in terms of making cost cutting measures that I'm sure they've been wanting to do for quite a while. Covid just gave them an excuse to speed those things up and keep things as scaled back as possible. They have kept much more closed than their competitors, because they can. Look at fireworks for example...other parks are safely providing them. The lack of entertainment Disney has brought back is pretty sad...no reason but money and their Disney so they don't have to. Good business deal, but stinks for customers.

I agree and I’m sure that have been wanting to stop luggage and ME for years. It’s one of the best options about Disney. They put parking costs in and then take away ME. They certainly have been affected by Covid but not to the degree smaller companies have and they’ve been back “ up” at least on a scaled down basis since the summer. I won’t say they are “ milking” it but they are true to the “ don’t let a good tragedy go to waste”. Not sure why people would pay a premium for the monorail resorts now. Heck pop century and Carribean beach have easier access to two parks now.
