Will the moat still be drained late April/May

I've read that the Hub construction will continue until 2015. Does this include the drained moat. I'm just wondering if it will be drained for our trip at the end of April?

We will be there than also and I expect it to to be still without water.

supposedly they are removing the moat, filling it in and making it some kind of viewing area.

How sad if this happens. I always associated a castle with a moat and/or a high mountain top. I loved the reflection of the water and I was able to get some great photo shots with the image of the castle in the water.

It just gets sadder and sadder. Disney is doing the same with the entertainers slowly but surely. I miss the candy lady, Miyuki, at Epcot and I always think about her. She was a treasure. Supposedly, she was the last to be around doing candy art.

what? The whole thing? Part of it? Really?

From the renderings via pics and video online, only a small portion of the mote in front of Casey's and on the other side in front of Plaza Ice Cream will be filled in - the rest of the mote is intact.

If the construction around the castle is going to make the area dismal for a while anyway they should theme it around Sleeping Beauty's castle during her dormancy. :)

(yes, I know it's Cindy's castle, but it's all we got)

I actually don't think that looks too bad. I thought that they were going to get rid of the moat completely, I'm happy to see that it is only part of the moat that they are filling in :goodvibes.

I am glad they are not taking away the whole moat. I was worried about the Disney Ducks!! They need the moat too :thumbsup2

It was Miyuki's decision to leave. Her eyesight is failing and she decided it was time to retire. She had been doing the candy art for more than 20 years.

From the Disney released fly, it looks like the new paths are awfully close to the existing ones. Wasn't the intention with this construction to build extra paths so guests could maneuver in the parks when the main pathway was crowded during the parades and fireworks? They seem to be so close together that guests watching will just filter into these paths when the main path is full, and Disney will just continue to have the same problem they have now.

When in 2015 is this suppose to be completed? Do you think it will be completed by summer?

Dang, 2015. I suppose my castle pictures will have both a crane and construction walls.

The new path near the Plaza Restaurant looks like it will funnel right into the backstage area that they currently use to exit people out of the parks from that side of the MK. Since that "exit" is open a lot, I think that path will have a huge impact on getting people out of the hub area after parades/fireworks.

We were there a few weeks ago. From what we were told, the moat will be empty until before Christmas 2015. The construction is supposed to be completed "by the holiday" is what we were told. I was hoping they met Halloween, but I assume it will be Christmas as well.

Anyone planning a onece-in-a-lifetime only trip in the next year and a half is in for a rude awakening. That hub is going to be a mess.

We already reduced our next Winter's vacation from 10 days to 4 days (just to get our "fix"). If we were not guiding a new family through their first (poor souls) vacation, there is NO WAY I would go, within the next two years at least...and I am a Disney JUNKIE. FP+, construction, Downtown Disney, construction...no thanks.

I LOVE the mouse, but I'm saving my money until it is....done?!
