Will the Magic return to San Diego?

Once the Magic and Wonder are set to retire, you know Disney will capitalize on their retirement.

If they plan to do this, why has Disney just spent a ton of money converting verandah rooms to concierge on the Magic?

Someone on my trip next year said that they booked a Verandah room and it's getting upgraded to a Concierge room (at no upgrade cost to them). Do we know what rooms were getting this upgrade on the ship? I imagine it was being upgraded/converted during the Dry Dock period?

I am surprised that they haven't added a West Coast cruise. Holland has a cruise that leaves San Diego and goes up the coast stopping in Monterrey, Santa Barbara, San Francisco, and Astoria, Oregon. On the way back, it stops in Ensenada to satisfy the Jones act. We live in San Diego, and we'd take more cruises if the itineraries were more diverse.
Actually it's the PVSA (Passenger Vessel Services Act). Jones Act applies to cargo.

While they will get a "concierge" room they will not be able to use the concierge facilities, or take advantage of the concierge services.

Then what makes them "concierge"?
In the system they will be 03A. I believe they are decorated slightly differently, but otherwise they are not significantly different (I've stayed in both). Since they are changing category after they were booked DCL isn't going to make them pay Concierge rates, but they aren't going to upgrade them for free. This happened with the Wonder a while back (2017?), too.

So you're talking about those people who already have those specific rooms already booked? For future cruises they will be true Concierge, with all the perks?

Yes, I was replying to a post where someone had booked a Verandah that was then converted to a concierge room.
