Will the bailout work?

Just heard Stu Varney commenting on the current bailout. He said that so far it is not working and that we are looking to bring the 700 billion up to at least a trillion dollars and even that may not be enough.

All this bailout will do is put us into further debt with a growing dependency of foreign nations. As it is, China is growing tired of buying our "bad" paper and I fear what will happen if they and other countries decide to stop buying.

Absolutely. We got into this mess from government interference, (Fannie and Freddie). We certainly aren't going to get out with government help. Its like Harry Reid standing at one end of a lake bailing it out with a bucket, and Nancy Pelosi standing at the other end, bailing it in with bucket. The level of the lake will not change.

I was never in favor of the bailout, but to hear that even a trillion dollars would not do the trick is very disconcerting. Stu Varney mentioned that our government may need to nationalize our banking system in order to get it under control.
