Will TarzansKat meet Captain Jack? ~A Pirate's Life for 3 Pre-Trippie~ We're back!

Yay! I'm glad you're doing the "in two weeks I'll be..." game. Loved it on LL's PTR! :thumbsup2

Happy to oblige! I figure it'll make the time go by faster! :thumbsup2

I'll be sending :goodvibes and :wizard: for a room upgrade! It sounds like you have good ideas for how to occupy your time in case the room isn't ready. :thumbsup2

Oh, Jiri juju is good juju.

Say that five times fast. :lmao:

Hurray for Magic Kingdom Lite, Casey's hotdogs, and meeting LegoMom and clan! :goodvibes

:yay:

I can't believe you're leaving in two weeks!!!

Oh, to be experiencing Magic Kingdom Lite today...:cloud9:

I can't wait! :thumbsup2

I am so seriously jealous that you'll be there soon! Please take TONS of pictures!

Oh, I will be TOTALLY jealous when you go on your trip! January was my favorite time of year to go when I was in college. We always had that long break from Christmas through part of January, and would go down in early January. Walk on every ride, minimal ADRs...ah the good old days. :lmao:

And of course I'll take lots of pictures. :thumbsup2

 WOW 2 weeks TK....are you packed yet;) or am I the only nutter that does taht sort of thing:scared: ?

Not packed yet!

Well, physically. Mentally, I'm fully aware of where everything is and what needs to be done. But in the world of potty training toddler, there's no way I could even conceive of packing DS' clothes in advance! That will literally be a day before laundry extravaganza! :lmao:

I've got my packing lists made, and I'll have DH pull out the suitcases next weekend so I can start on my days off. A lot of our things can easily be packed beforehand, so that's good.

I can't believe in two short weeks, I'll be in the World.

I have to agree with you, in your potty training situation there in lies the path to madness:rotfl2:

:cheer2: Excellent, can't wait for the TR. Confession time (this is where you're all going to disown me because I'm a complete nutter:scared: ) I have a small trolly bag already packed with a load of bits and pieces that I have picked up for our trip in 299 days time:blush: ....please don't stop being friends with me as no other living thing is harmed by my obsession:rolleyes1 :rotfl: . That's why I was only half joking when I asked if you'd packed:sad2:

Two weeks! Two weeks! Two weeks!

:maleficen :hmghost: :maleficen :hmghost:

Thanks for the Halloween themed two weeks! I love it! :thumbsup2

Alright, listen. I have two things to say.

1. You're participating in a group full of people who write about their vacations before they've even happened! 'Nuff said. ;)

2. Let's just roll with this theory...being in a different country requires mucho mucho planning. Therefore, it's "normal" to start packing this early. Yeah, that's it. :rotfl2:

Fair comment:thumbsup2

:lmao: That'll be why I've got my friend who's family are coming with us next year doing the self same thing....we're allowed because we're mad foreign Scottish people:rotfl2:

And that's pretty much the theme for day two.

And the rest of the trip for that matter. Here's where the what I'm doing in two weeks chapters start to get a bit...well...shorter.

I'll give you an idea of the plans, and you can be sure that on this day, we'll be keeping our ADR since I've planned a little something special. But I'm jumping ahead.

So this is our first day waking up in the World. It's a great day, a day filled with promise, and adventure, and...swimming?

I'm hoping that we'll sleep late, getting rid of the jetlag we'll feel from the day before. Waking well-rested, I will turn to the boy and say, "DS...want to go swimming?"

See this is one of the only days we have a dinner ADR, so we have nowhere in particular to be this morning. Nowhere to rush to, nothing to do but enjoy our vacation and relax.

I'm pretty sure that the first waking day in the World will begin in the water. As well it should. We are pirates, after all. ;)

So I"m planning to fully enjoy the pool with my boys. Perhaps let DS play a little on the playground/beach, and just enjoy the morning. No rush, no plans, just enjoy. Maybe explore the resort a little, have some lunch at Roaring Forks. Or, if we're done early enough, head off to Epcot and have lunch there. Now at some point (we think, but who can say lately) DS will take a nap. I'm figuring that the combination of swimming, Florida heat, and just plain contentendness will knock the little peanut out.

After we make it to Epcot, we'll make sure he's comfy for his nap, and on this day I plan to stick to the front of the park, since we have an ADR at the Coral Reef at 530. I'm figuring we'll spend a nice leisurely afternoon here, maybe hit some rides, the Character Connection, and shopping, if the boys will indulge me. I do love to shop in Epcot. Mousegears, the twin souvenir shops before you enter the World Showcase. So much fun. :goodvibes

And then, off to dinner at the Coral Reef. Where I've arranged a little sumpin'. A little special whatnot for my DH & DS in the way of customized menus. I did contact Debbi, and she got back to me promptly, which was great. Pictures have been e-mailed, a special message written, and I can't wait for them to see it.

Will I be revealing that special message here?

No.

Have to save something for the trip report. ;)

After dinner, I'm not sure what we'll do. If we haven't already explored the Living Seas with DS, we'll definitely let him do that. Maybe we'll catch Illuminations this night; it totally depends on DS' reaction to fireworks. If we're feeling brave after dinner, we could always head off into the countries.

Can you sense that I have no real plans?

Are you all getting that whole non-itinerary itinerary...so happy...so relaxed...so pirate...

"Wherever we want to go, we'll go."

I think Day 2 sounds absolutely lovely -- all of it -- I love the idea of a leisurely morning swimming and relaxing and then heading to Epcot. I love how unhampered by plans you are, and I can't wait to find out what the message on the menus is! :goodvibes

I'm really looking forward to this day. I love that we don't have to be anywhere specific, and I'm wondering if it's going to affect how I feel about all my earlier ADRs! :lmao:

But they are breakfast ADRs and those are the best ones in my opinion!

:rotfl2:

Well, I tend to agree! I really am happy with all my ADRs, so I don't think we'll do that much switching.

However, I refuse to commit to the above statement. As LL would say, I reserve the right to change my mind. :lmao:

Yes, definitely, heaven knows we were changing our minds while on the trip a couple of times!

What a wonderful way to spend your first full day in the World! It does sound very relaxing, and I think it's a good plan (or non-plan...:rolleyes1 ) to get everyone, particularly DS, recuperated from the flight.

I can't wait to find out what the menu says!

Yes, I'm hoping to just ease into vacation. No rush, nothing particular to do, just make it to dinner that night.:goodvibes

I think we'd be willing to brave quite a lot to get Tuesday two weeks from now.

Because Tuesday is a "spirited" day, if you will.

Spook-tacular even.

I'm so punny this morning. Must be the baking. I had some eggs that just hit their expiration, and sour cream that would have shortly, and said to myself, self...what better way to celebrate being so close to vacation than to make some fabulous delish coffee cake. :thumbsup2

But I digress. Now that the coffee cake is resting in its pans on a wire rack, soon to be removed from said pans to cool on its own on the wire rack, and then receive so glorious vanilla glaze (like the boy needs more sugar in his system), I'm ready to write my chapter.

But on a side note, I'm treating the boy particularly well today. Not that I don't always...well, you get the idea. In short, I'm spoiling him a bit. Why, you may ask? What would prompt this bit of behavior other than he's so dang cute and loveable?

Well, tonight, folks, are our haircuts. And I want him to be in a good mood. Because on the short list of things DS isn't fond of are dentist appointments and haircuts. And I've taken him to a variety of places. Including places that specialize in children's haircuts. And they always massacre his beautiful hair into something that is specifically not what I asked for. I mean, how hard is it to hear a person say, "Listen, I don't want a lot cut off. He has beautiful hair, we like it longer, so just a trim please. Clean up around the ears a little, and just trim the rest." And then we end up with an ungodly short haircut that drives me insane while it grows out. And last time it was so bad, his "sideburns" were uneven. Like obviously uneven. Now, I'm aware that he can be a moving target and that it's hard to work with kids, but if you're touting yourself as a child's salon, then you'd think you could get a pretty decent haircut. Or at least something similar to what the mom asked you for. Oy. Can we tell I have hair cutting issues? For myself, not so much. It grows fast. So does DS', but still. I think it's different for boys. As a woman, I can easily style my bangs and throw my hair back in a ponytail, and if my layers are choppy, nobody's the wiser. Boys don't have that option! So I'm taking him to the place where I get my hair cut. The place I go to every 8 weeks because I can't afford the normal hair cut time span. The place that's going to charge me $20 for a child's haircut. And hopefully be worth it. Because he's going to my stylist, who does my hair, mom's hair, nana's hair, and always does an excellent job. And she listens to me. So I'm hoping, crossing fingers, praying, that DS' haircut will turn out fine. And he won't look back twenty years from now at the '08 Disney Vacation Scrapbook and say, "Ma! What did you do to my hair?!?!?!?" :lmao:

Now that we've delved into just how concerned about hair I am  , shall we move onto happier thoughts?

Like what I'll be doing two weeks from now on Tuesday?

Ah, yes.

Waking up whenever. No alarms for the boys, leisurely morning. No park this morning, just chill and relax until our 1120 ADR for Chef Mickey's. Whereupon we'll nosh on a breakfast that will feel like lunch. Happily cavorting with Mickey and Friends all the while keeping in mind the larger goal!

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party!!!

Because it deserves to be typed out in full. It's just that good. :thumbsup2

So the game plan is for our late breakfast ADR, some video games/shopping at the Contemporary, and then a nap back at the WL before the party. We're going to all need a nap if we're going to stay up that late, quite frankly.

And then, we'll get dressed for the party!

Obviously, DH will be Jack Sparrow. We all remember that conversation, savvy?

I'll be Elizabeth or a pirate. Haven't decided yet, bringing both costumes. They're easy enough to pack, and I'm going to wait and see what the weather is like before I decide what I'm doing.

DS will be his cute little pirate self.

And we'll head on over to MNSSHP. Hopefully on the boat launch. Because pirates really should ship on over to MNSSHP, don't you think?

For the party, I have few set plans. I would like to see the Headless Horseman, the parade, the fireworks. Trick or treat, possibly meet some villains. Parties are fun, and relaxed, and enjoyable. Obviously we'll ride POTC, and all our favs that are open.

But I have no set plans. Just an ardent hope that since DS has heard the MNSSHP music so much that the fireworks won't scare him this year. Ah well. One step at a time, eh?

I know this will be an awesome day. I can't wait to brave the weird and haunted shores of the Seven Seas Lagoon to arrive at the Magic Kingdom and MNSSHP.:thumbsup2

The place I go to every 8 weeks because I can't afford the normal hair cut time span

You think that going "only" every 8 weeks is bad? I got my hair cut last month.....the first time since June....June 2007. I used to go every 12 weeks for a highlight and a cut but then I had DS. You know the rest of the story.
