Will TarzansKat meet Captain Jack? ~A Pirate's Life for 3 Pre-Trippie~ We're back!

Jen, as I was taking the ironing board out, it spoke to me.

:::cough, cough, wheeze::: TK! I thought you'd forgotten me!!!!:lmao:

:lmao:

You are one step ahead of me. DH and I don't even have an ironing board. I believe we bought the iron when we were doing a previous crafty project. We like to iron on our counter with a towel. :rotfl:

:rotfl:

I have a mini tabletop ironing board. Its little three-inch tall legs have a tendency to collapse. I don't have room for a "real" ironing board, but I may get one of those over-the-door ones at some point.

Love love love the shirts!!! Wish I had a creative side... or not snarky teens that would wear matching shirts :rotfl:

Where has Tink been?
Not on the DIS apparently.
Except to battle with her PTR.
I won, by the way.
I ALWAYS* win.

*Except when BF wins. Which I NEVER let him know about.

My DH's sweet grandmother passed away this morning. It was expected, as she had been sick for a while, but we are still mourning the loss.

There is not a Skittle-y, love-y enough hug to portray how I'd like to comfort you.

After some fun conversations with Tink and LL

Conversing is fun.

But when I mentioned doing that for the party, I swear to you the man eyebrow slapped me, and said "Son...I'm Captain Jack Sparrow...savvy?" all with his eyes! When he was done looking at me like I had lost my mind, he said quite distinctly, "No. I'm wearing my costume." pirate: Pirate!

Um.
I have a request.
I would like to send my BF to camp at your house.
You and DS can come up and stay with me.
Whilst at camp, your DH will instruct my BF in such fine arts as:
*Loving EVERYTHING Your SO Loves but Pretending to Just Be "Meh": Enjoying Disney on Testosterone
*Captain Jack 101: How to Drive your Woman Wild!
*Just Say Yes: Disney Travel 101

I should have bought the name brand Avery at WalMart

Doncha hate it when they say stuff like that?
BF gets the, 'Well gee, honey, thank you for making me feel like CARP look.'

DSCI0269.jpg

I LOVE these! Especially the second!

Now I don't have shoe drama, I have shirt drama.

Keep it to yourself. ;)

OHMYGOD! NOBODY MOVE!
WE'VE LOST TK'S HEAD.
I REPEAT WE'VE LOST TK'S HEAD.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE HEAD WILL BE MISSING PART OF HER CHIN WHICH REMAINS HOME, WORRIED ABOUT THE REST OF HER NOGGIN.
LET'S SPLIT UP AND SEARCH IN AN EVER-INCREASING RADIUS.
TREAD CAREFULLY!

But whatever would a girl do with two pirates???

Seriously.
This IS rhetorical, right?
It is.
IT IS.

This is too funny. TK & DH could become online professors! :lmao:

First off, thanks to all for the shirt compliments.

Secondly, Tink I'm DED. Over the whole thing. My missing head and BF Disney Boot Camp. We may have to take you up on that!:lmao:

Thirdly, I am sad to report that the two white shirts suffered a devastating blow today. After being washed separately on the gentle cycle, I have realized the error of my ways. The validity of DH's statement to buy the Avery brand transfers. To not buy the ones from AC Moore. DH...was...right. :::sigh::: They're totally cracked and peeling. We may even attempt to try to lift the transfer of DS' and possibly reuse the shirt.

Mine I'll use as a sleep tank, I could use another. Very, very, very frustrated.

But it's a learning experience. Today at WalMart I found two other kinds of Avery transfers. They had the specific dark transfers, and then they had a new kind called "stretchy" transfers which are supposed to meld with the fabric better. I showed them to DH, he asked the cost, and then told me, oh just keep both. So there you go. Perhaps if I'm feeling brave I'll attempt one tonight.

I'll keep you posted.:thumbsup2

I am now very afraid to wash my shirts.

Eek! I'm sorry, TK! That stinks. :headache:

But it sounds like it's not a total cost, and now you'll know for future pirate trippies. :goodvibes pirate:

I am now very afraid to wash my shirts.

Well, it's quite possible since dark tee transfers are totally different that yours will be just fine! My dark tee transfer I did of the Pirate's Life for Three on my black tank came out fine, but it was also the Avery brand, not Printworks.

Eek! I'm sorry, TK! That stinks. :headache:

It's a bummer, but meh.

Alrighty...

This is the Avery stretchy fabric transfer.

Mama like. ::yes::

The black did print a little bit faded in parts, but I think that's to be expected unless you're using those dark transfers. They just don't come out as vibrant. However, I am very, very pleased. The edges of this transfer have totally fused with the tee shirt and I cannot detect any peeling. I will wash it to see how it fares, but I think this one may turn out great. Oh, and although it's been edited to omit this, the mouse head actually has my son's name in it. And yes, I'm totally aware that it's not perfectly centered. I didn't discover that until after. Ah well. It's a learning process.

It is soooooo cool. And DS loves it. He knows it has a "Mickey Pirate" and says "Disney World." Which he thinks is fantastic. And I think is adorable.:goodvibes

That's a shame about the first ones :(.

What's even more horrifying is that I should have listened to my husband! :lmao:

Shh....no one needs to know....

The Mickey pirate looks great, and I love how excited DS is about it!

I can't wait to make more of these, but we're calling it quits for tonight. I just got the warning from the computer that my color ink is getting low, so I'm hesitant to try printing too many more without getting a new ink cartridge. We pretty much need to redo DS' pirates life for three, and make DH's. I still had at least one more design I wanted to do for DS and myself. I'm trying not to go overboard, but seriously, this is just too much fun!

I won't say a word about listening to your husband.

I imagine it could be very addictive!!! I think that is why I am holding off on it right now. I am afraid that my family's entire wardrobe would be matching t-shirts whether they wanted them or not.

But it sounds like it's not a total cost, and now you'll know for future pirate trippies. :goodvibes pirate:

Quoted myself since I just noticed my typo of "cost" for "loss." Thank you for your thumbs up despite my poor proofreading!

But... but matching T-shirts have power! :lmao: :rotfl:

You're a true friend.:goodvibes

I really have one more design I want for myself...but I'm also tempted to redo the light blue WDW shirts. I really wanted matching for DS and I. Having to redo shirts means having to buy more shirts for him...granted it was only $5 for the 5 shirts, so it's not too bad, but I'm trying not to go crazy. It's hard to resist. I feel a disturbance in the force.

Your DS's pirate Mickey shirt is too cute!

Thanks, I think it came out great! And I love that it has his name on it, because I think it'll be so great for meeting characters.:thumbsup2

You know what? I knew what you meant, and I figured with all your editorial instincts you'd catch it eventually.:goodvibes

Thanks!

But... but matching T-shirts have power! :lmao: :rotfl:

A power I will hopefully harness.:thumbsup2

Yes, but would said power be the same at the local Red Lobster as it is at WDW (because they would have so many that would be where they were wearing them)???

Hee hee, Red Lobster.

No, I think the power of the shirts is more prevalent at WDW.:lmao:

I love that shirt! So freaking adorable. :goodvibes

I am intrigued by this stretchy transfer stuff. You must tell me how it holds up in the wash since I haven't bought my second package of transfers yet. :thumbsup2

Yes, ::sigh:: Pobody's nerfect, and all that.

:rotfl: :lmao: But what if Red Lobster decided to have a Red Lobster character? I'm sure the matching T's would then ensure plenty of picks with Red, and maybe you'd be led on a parade around the restaurant. ;)

I will certainly let you know! I plan to run that shirt through the wash tonight and see how it fares, savvy?

Thank you! I needed a good funny this morning.

I'm off to get ready!
