We need to take the time out for a little dedication if you don't mind. My DH's sweet grandmother passed away this morning. It was expected, as she had been sick for a while, but we are still mourning the loss. I'd like to dedicate this chapter to her and to my DH.
Son...I'm Captain Jack Sparrow...savvy? I could see this in DH's eyes as we were having a conversation about Disney World last night. Specifically about
MNSSHP. But I'm jumping ahead here, so let's get back to the beginning.
After some fun conversations with Tink and LL, I've recently gotten all afire about custom shirts. Well, that and we've seen the power of Jiri's. I mean, all in all, it seems like a good idea.
And I love a custom shirt. I really, really do. But I don't want to go crazy because if there are people on this planet who have plenty of clothes, it is definitely myself, DH, and our lovely little peanut. We're fully stocked for Disney in the clothing arena, folks.
But I just couldn't resist...and the idea occured to me (with the help of a friend) what if we wore matching tees for MNSSHP? It would certainly eliminate my whole costume debate and if it does rain....please don't rain please don't rain please don't rain

...it would certainly make it easier to be in tees and shorts than in our full on costumes.
So I found a design I really, really liked (with the help of another friend) and deemed it totally worthy. It's a red Mickey head with the black silhouette of Jack Sparrow and a ship inside it. Underneath it reads A Pirate's Life for Me, but I know I could get DH to fix it to say A Pirate's Life for Three. It would be just perfect. So I showed him the design, and he did agree that he would wear matching t-shirts.
But when I mentioned doing that for the party, I swear to you the man eyebrow slapped me, and said "Son...I'm Captain Jack Sparrow...savvy?" all with his eyes! When he was done looking at me like I had lost my mind, he said quite distinctly, "No. I'm wearing my costume."

Pirate! So there you have it. The man who appears to be "along for the ride" on our
Disney vacations, who says he doesn't care where we go as long as we're together (which is true), the man who takes all my ADR changes in stride, is wearing his Jack Sparrow costume, and that is THAT!
You could have knocked me over with a feather.
And then, I loved him even more.
So we have an accord. There will be matching tee shirts. Actually mine will be a tank, but they will match. And we will most likely wear them on one of our Magic Kingdom days. Because if you're going to wear matching pirate shirts, you should probably be in the same park as...well...PIRATES!!!
So I'm excited at this new prospect and a little project for myself and DH to work on together.
It occured to me then, that as I was thinking of all this t-shirt making, I really, really needed a list of things to get done before the trip. And while I was making my list, it occured to me that I hadn't even called to secure my transportation to and from the airport!

So I was on that, folks! And now it's done. Not only do we have our heading, but we have our favorite driver whom we've used...wow, at least since I was in high school...picking us up at the airport. And for a fairly reasonable price, to my mind. Which reminds me, I should update my budget.
Anyhoo, I have the list in progress, and I'm adding to it as time goes on. I plan to work on some more things tomorrow, and I'm really getting excited for this trip. Everything's booked, essentially paid for or money set aside for, and it's just a little over a month away.
Life doesn't get much sweeter than this.
Well...unless I were actually in the World right now, that would be pretty sweet.
But I'm feeling very grateful right now. Grateful for all that I have, what I've accomplished this year, and the vacation we'll be taking.
Because it's not just the vacation that's A Pirate's Life for Three.
It's every day, too. And that, my dear friends, is the greatest adventure of all.
