Will TarzansKat meet Captain Jack? ~A Pirate's Life for 3 Pre-Trippie~ We're back!

I have only read the first few pages so far but I am going to come back and read more tomorrow. I would love to stay and read all of it now but I am falling asleep as I was awakened at a very early hour by dd this am. Loving this ptr so far.

So if you've been following my pre-trippie or Tink's pre-trippie, you'll have discovered that she and I are long-lost sisters. Born in the same month, same year, etc, we were shepharded away from our "real" parents by Obi Wan to live out our lives peacefully away from the dark lords that ruled the galaxy...:rotfl:

I'm the Jedi. She wears the cinnamon buns.

And together we would seek out the delightful Disney bartender and ask...but where has the rum gone?

Likely when he sees us coming, he'll lean over and whisper, "Hide the rum."

Basin, that really cool bath shop, is a place I'd like to spend some cash. ;)

I love this store. I'm looking forward to poking my head in here too. I like the "make your own candle" thingy.

I have loved talking to her on the DIS, and our witty banter, and even if I can't come up with quick one liners in person, I think she'll still like me. ;)

Guaranteed. :goodvibes

Drink a Lapu Lapu for me!

Roger, roger.

DS has, at the tender age of 3, already been to the Tambu Lounge?

You party aminals you.

I just wish I could come up with a witty, engaging title. :lmao:

It'll come to you. No worries.

That store Basin is at GF?? Am I reading that right??

I went to the one in DTD. But I vaguely remember reading that they opened one at the GF.

This won't apply to tonight, but what is the best possible thing I can give to DS to bind him up?

I'm not a momma, but the BF confirms that bananas are binding. I hope your little muppet feels better.

I'm sorry you're sick...

BUT, I am enjoying your pre-trip and I'll be back later to read more!

Thanks for joining up. I'm happy to have you here! :thumbsup2

You need one of those little masks and a Lysol bath!!!

Remember, washing your hands frequently with warm water and soap will kill most germs. (The children's elementary school went through a horrible epidemic of shigella last year, and that was our motto).

Perhaps DH should have heeded that advice. I have been hand washing like mad. And I exercise consistently, take my multi-vitamins...so far, I'm okay. However, DH, not so much. He just told me his stomach hurts and he's laying down now.

TK, I hope you had a more restful night last night!

Unfortunately it wasn't, but I'll post a little update separately. Thank you so much for your well wishes.

I am so flattered that you like my report so much you wanted to read it all in one sitting. However, I too, understand the necessities of sleep. It's unfortunate that it gets in the of DISing! Welcome aboard! :cool1:

I'm the Jedi. She wears the cinnamon buns.

Yup...and they're yummy. :lmao:

That wouldn't surprise me.:rotfl:

What is this make your own candle thingy of which you speak? Do tell, good friend, do tell.

Guaranteed. :goodvibes
Aww, shucks.

Roger, roger.
You know Episode 2, Attack of the Clones is one tonight, right? ;)

You party aminals you.
We are a wild and crazy bunch.

Thanks so much for the advice and hugs. I really, really need them. :scared:

Ugh. Where to begin. I'm wiped out, DH is wiped out, and we're frustrated.

DS cannot keep fluids down at all. He was puking all last night, and still has loose stools. This morning, I finally called the peditrician again and spoke with the doc on call.

She recommended a combo of Pedialyte and whatever he normally likes to drink, juice, whatever. I have to give it to him by the teaspoonful every ten minutes for an hour. I got two teaspoonfuls into him before he passed out on the floor of the living room. He's stretched out on a blanket, wearing only a diaper. He doesn't want clothes, he just wants his Diego pull-ups. So I've covered him with a receiving blanket so he won't be too cold.

Also since DH is down for the count, I've tidied up around here and opened the blinds to get some sunlight in. Let the sunshine...oh, let the sunshine in...the sunshine in...:rolleyes1

Sorry. See, even under duress, still me. :thumbsup2

The doc was nice enough to call back and check up on us. I told her about the two teaspoonfuls. She encouraged me not to let him sleep too long, (a couple of hours is okay) because we really need to get some fluids into him. If he can keep down the liquid I'm giving him for one whole hour, I can increase to a tablespoon, and so on. If he vomits again, I absolutely have to call them. She said don't even try food right now, just get him hydrated. And as long as his fever is under 101, I don't have to worry about Tylenol. Which is good, because quite frankly, he'd probably just puke it up. :sad2: If all goes well, she said around 600pm we could give hime some cheerios.

I am so in over-protective mama mode right now. I went to the grocery store and got cheerios, bananas, pretzels, chicken broth, eggs, etc. That way when he feels up to it, we'll have something for him. We already have Saltines and Gatorade, DH got that last night.

I am so sad. I don't want any more of this  I want my little boy back. You know, this one :yay:

And I'm worried about him. I am hoping to God that he can keep some fluid down and we don't have to call the doctor again. If any of you are at all religious, would you please keep us in your prayers today? I would so appreciate it. Thank you for all your support.

Whoa! He just woke up. One more teaspoonful in. Keep your fingers crossed.

Thanks for the skittle hug, I needed that.

From 1200-100 DS was able to keep down the one teaspoonful every ten minutes. Now I've increased it to two teaspoons and he is doing okay. He has wet his diaper, so I know he's getting fluid in him. This is so much better than yesterday, he was barely wetting it at all, just loose stool. He also has not thrown up!

Again, keep your fingers crossed. He is also asking to eat, so I called the ped.'s office again and left a message with the answering service. Previously she had said no food until 6pm, but I'm wondering if it's okay because he's asking? They should be calling back around 200, so I'll let you all know.

Baby steps, baby steps...:)

Baby steps are the way to do it! If he wants to eat, that is a good sign. :thumbsup2

I am going to shamelessly plug myself and say..... "I started my PreTrip Report!!"""

Awesome, if I get a spare moment today, I will totally head on over. Of course, there's always bed time for DS! :thumbsup2

Thank you so much! It's very saddening when he's not at full pillaging strength.;)

Alright, we've upgraded to three teaspoons. :woohoo:

DS keeps asking to eat, so I called again. They got back to me and said it's really hard to predict when is a good time to offer food. They'd like me to get more fluids in him, and 600pm still sounds like the magic hour. Unfortunately, I caved and offered him some cheerios. He didn't want them. I offered him some plain pasta. He didn't want that. He wants things he can't have like grapes and strawberries. So I repeat his lovely bland options and he has finally settled on Saltines. Which are sitting next to him. In a bowl. On the couch, which I have, by the way, covered with blankets, and covered the floor next to it with towels and blankets because I don't want to clean anymore! :lmao:

We also have a patented chuck bucket handy, just in case. I won't tell you what it is so it won't ruin your whole concept of the particular item, but suffice it to say it works very well! :thumbsup2

Currently he is staring at me, probably wondering what I'm typing, and he has a hand on a Saltine. Not eating it...just holding it. Poor little nugget. I think he wants to want to eat, but can't.

I'll keep you all posted. And thanks again! :flower3:

Awww, poor little guy. I can imagine how he feels, scared to eat. I hate that feeling when you are battling stomache illness, you want to eat but just don't have the strength if something should not settle right. We a specific "chuck bucket" growing up, hehehe. Not that it compares to the illness you are battling in your house, I woke up with a killer cold this morning. Ack. I feel awful and want to sleep but can't breath. I hate being sick. Boo to feeling sick!

Boo to feeling sick!

Here here!

This kid has been holding the same Saltine cracker for the past hour.

I totally know how he feels. We have also upgraded to four teaspoons. I thought about switching to a tablespoon, but he likes to count to four. :lmao: It's the little things, people. :goodvibes

Soon that cracker will be mushy enough to put in the spoon, too! ;)

Good progress, good progress.

Just a short update for you...

He ate half the cracker! :woohoo:

So far, it's still in. :woohoo:

Only time will tell...

Never mind...:scared:

I guess we need to hold off on actual food longer. :sad2:
