Will TarzansKat meet Captain Jack? ~A Pirate's Life for 3 Pre-Trippie~ We're back!

Sorry, guys. We've had a really rough day over here. DS is sick, stomach virus. Last night he puked twice, and, to put it delicately, it's coming out the other end as well. Today, he's stopped puking, but still has the other issue, and a very high fever to boot. I called the doc's office and it's definitely a stomach virus.

Awwww. :(

Lots of kisses and a better belly for your DS.

Thank you! I have time for a quick hello and to say he seems better this morning. There was more puking last night, and his fever went so high, I was really worried. He seems cooler this morning, but still feverish, and is definitely more vocal. He told me he didn't want to puke anymore. I know, buddy. :goodvibes

Aww poor baby pirate. It's dreadfull when the wee people aren't well 'cos they just don't understand why they feel so bad. Big:hug: and hope he feels better soon:goodvibes

That's good! It's awful when they get sick. Glad to hear he is feeling better.

I believe that spending some time in the World is the perfect way to gloss over that birthday! Much like how I plan to gloss over my next one with a trip to the World. Finances permitting, I would love to stay at the Poly as well. I have stayed at the Grand Flo, but just feel the Poly has a more family atmosphere, although I do have to say I love the look of the renovated rooms at the Contemporary. Ah, choices, choices. ;)

There are a few reasons that (hopefully) we'll be able to afford the Poly next year. #1 we're not going abroad this year we're having 2weeks of day trips & 2day trips in Scottland:sad1: , I still have a little redundancy money left from last year:rolleyes1 and I have found a fabby TA that are offering a 50% discounted rate for airline staff and FORMER airline staff(ME:yay: ) so hopefully everything will go to plan and there will be no spanners in the works:scared: . I have my whole day planned for my birthday already....yes I am that sad;)

I hope your baby boy feels better! :grouphug:

Thank you so much, guys. I knew I could count on you and Tink to lend some friendly DIS support. He is doing a lot better today. When I got home from work he was napping, but after getting up to speed on the happenings at home with DH, it looks good. DS has been talkative, eating some toast and is finally consuming fluids normally again. He's still warm, but nothing like yesterday. And as I'm writing this, he's been napping for about 3.5 hours. Thank goodness, the poor little nugget needs it. I took a nap too, I was so exhausted from last night. Now I'm ready to DIS! :rotfl:

Excellent on the 50% off. I said to DH the other day that we almost take for granted our airfare or what a trip costs us compared to people from other countries. It can be :scared1: But, the same holds true if we want to visit where you're from. :)

I have my whole day planned for my birthday already....yes I am that sad;)

That's not sad, sister, it's reality! ;)

So glad to hear he is doing better!

It's been rather slow on the DIS boards today -- I guess everyone but me is being productive in some way.

We're devils and black sheep and really bad eggs

and we'll drink up me hearties, yo ho!

So if you've been following my pre-trippie or Tink's pre-trippie, you'll have discovered that she and I are long-lost sisters. Born in the same month, same year, etc, we were shepharded away from our "real" parents by Obi Wan to live out our lives peacefully away from the dark lords that ruled the galaxy...:rotfl:

That is, until one day, when we discovered each other on the DIS. A match made in :cloud9: The similarities were astounding, and they just kept coming. And so we made a choice. A choice that any self-respecting pirate would make.

Together we would brave the tropical perils of the Polynesian hotel. Together we would journey upstairs to the Tambu Lounge.
And together we would seek out the delightful Disney bartender and ask...but where has the rum gone?

To which said Disney bartender will reply, into this lovely Lapu Lapu, ladies! Drink up me hearties, yo ho! ;)

So, today in my itinerary is the day before we leave the World. But it is not a sad day, oh no, folks. I have fun things planned on this day, Saturday, Sept. 20th, and I am heartily looking forward to them.

Before Tink and I live it up (hopefully they won't kick us out of the Poly, especially since it's her first night in the World), I have some other family business to attend to folks.

And that is something that I will really look forward to for the whole trip. The TK family has a date with some of my favorite friends from the Hundred Acre Wood. Today, we'll be dining with Pooh & Friends at the Crystal Palace. Our ADR is at 1145, so I'm hoping for an earlier lunch. This day is sort of interchangeable with the 19th in that if we missed things at Epcot, we'll go there, if we want some more MK, we'll stay there. I'm thinking hanging around the MK area might be good since I have a plan to meet my long lost sister. :thumbsup2

If we wake up early this morning, I think a dip in the pool would be a great way to start the day, as long as I can get DS out of the pool with promises of meeting Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, and Piglet. He loves to watch the new show on Playhouse Disney, as well as the classic WTP movies.

I really love the buffet at the Crystal Palace. Truth be told, it is my favorite in all the World. I love the characters, I love the food, and I love the pretty atmosphere. I like that the same Tigger topiary is waiting for me when I arrive. I like that Pooh is just as willing to hug me as my 3 year old. I like that I can pick out a dozen different kinds of mini desserts. ;) And I love buffets because without a doubt, there is always something that DS will like.

If we don't get to swim in the am, I think I'd like one last fling with the Hippy Dippy Pool and the whole Pop Century resort that night. I only have swimming "scheduled" on one other day. I personally expect we'll be doing it more than this, especially if DS doesn't like fireworks like last year. To my mind, there's no reason to stay at a park that late and deal with those bus crowds if your little nut is going to hate the noise. :goodvibes So if that's the case, I see us swimming almost every night, with the exception of when we go to Downtown to do some shoppin'!

After we've lunched, I'm hoping to walk around MK and possibly get DS to nap in his stroller. If it's really hot, I'm thinking we may head over to any of the other monorail resorts. I may actually like to check out the Grand Flo today since I won't be partaking in the ladies tea this year. Basin, that really cool bath shop, is a place I'd like to spend some cash. ;) Last year they had a pumpkin spice scented soap shaped like a pumpkin that smelled soooooooooooooo good. I still have some left. And since I'm an October baby, and a lot of my birthdays were spent picking pumpkins at our local farm, hayride to the field included, I have a very healthy obsession with pumpkins. And Halloween in general. Are we sensing how much of an impact childhood has on people? ;)

So we'll be just wastin' time....watchin' the hours roll by....

waiting for my long lost sister to arrive.

The game plan is for Tink and I to meet at the lounge for drinks before her dinner ressie. I am really looking forward to this. I have loved talking to her on the DIS, and our witty banter, and even if I can't come up with quick one liners in person, I think she'll still like me. ;)

So after we've had our Lapu Lapus or fruity tropical whatnots, she and her lovely friend will go off to dinner and my lovely family and I will go in search of some as well. Where will we end up for dinner?

Truly, I have no plans. It'll be counter service, so it could be anything at MK, Epcot, or one of the monorail resorts. We'll just have to wait...and see...:thumbsup2

Productivity is overrated. I am taking advantage of the looooong nap to post a new chapter. ;)

It is overrated except when I need to be productive so that we have food in the house and clean pjs. :sad2:

I love the update. I, too, love pumpkins and Halloween so I am storing away that little tidbit about the pumpkin soaps at Basin for our October trip. You and Tink are going to have a blast together! Wish I could join you guys for a Lapu Lapu!

Trifles! :lmao:

Happy to help! You'll love it there. Just beware of the effect it will have on your wallet.

We would love to have you! :) Too bad your trip doesn't coincide. Ours barely do, but we're squeezing it in! :thumbsup2

I agree, but I think the family would disagree.

Ah! The natives are getting restless?

Drink a Lapu Lapu for me!

Would you settle for a Pina Colada? Perhaps Tink will drink the Lapu Lapu for you? Pina Colada's have rum right? I'm hoping to stick with a rum-inspired drink in allegiance to my favorite pirate, Captain Jack Sparrow. However, if I imbibe the lovely Lapu Lapu without DH's help, I will be flat on the floor. Completely unfit to take care of DS...but probably lots of fun! :lmao:

However,if DH decides to stick around for our fun antics, perhaps I can persaude him to split the lovely pineapple goodness with me. :thumbsup2

that DS has, at the tender age of 3, already been to the Tambu Lounge?

See, last year on our trip to the World, I had discovered, but was still lurking on the DIS boards. And one of the things I had discovered was the Lapu Lapu. I told my mother before we left that I required trying this drink. It was a must do. She obliged.

So one day, DM, DFIL, DH, DS, and I all went to the Poly for a little break. And we made our way over to the Tambu lounge. DM and DFIL had whatever their drinks of choice were, DH declined (this worked out very well), and I ordered the coveted Lapu Lapu. We also had DS belly up to the bar, with his very own snack of Cracker Jacks from Casey's earlier in the day. He looked so darn cute at that bar. Normally I wouldn't walk up to a bar and sit down my then 2 year old, but hey, it's Disney. It's a family environment. :lmao:

So we have many pics of me with my happy pineapple drink. And my DS at the bar. I think I got about four of five sips before I decided that although it was good, I needed some help! DH obliged. Always read to help out the TK team! :)

This is even funnier because DH is not a big drinker. He barely partakes. But if I need some help, my hubby is not one to let things go to waste! :thumbsup2

And you know what? This memory ranks right up there with that day we swam at the pool, then went to Epcot. It was relaxed, and air-conditioned, and we were just chillin'. That is so what I want our vacation to be about this time. :goodvibes And, now, I get to share it with a new friend.:thumbsup2

Glad to hear you little guy is feeling better!!

After reading your posts I would really like a fruity tropical drink. Mmmm...rum. I love rum, even before Capt. Jack if you can believe it or not. One of my friends still laughs at the time I was drinking my dear rum and said "where has all the rum gone?" In my drunken stupor of course I wasn't witty enough to know I was quoting your beloved pirate but it still makes her giggle to this day.

I have decided to start a pre trip report. I still don't have a title, I can't engage the brain lately. I am hoping to start tomorrow. Woo Hoo!

I was wondering if you ever partake in the pin trading...?? I also thought of another question for you while I was driving today but I can't remember. Hmmph. Like I said, brain is not engaged.

Thank you so much for posting with supportive and kind words. I was really worried about him. He's doing better, eating a bit, and drinking. He's taking his Tylenol now, so the fever is going down. Right now he's watching the end of Finding Nemo after which DH offered to give him a bath. Poor DS, he needs one. I think it will make him feel better.

That is too funny. I think that Tink and I will have to toast all our DIS friends when we're sipping our rum concoctions! Well, and our favorite pirate, of course! :goodvibes

Let me know as soon as you do, I am totally excited to read it! :woohoo:

I actually haven't. Much like Charleston Princess, I have difficulty letting go of my coveted pins. I'm more of a hoarder than a trader! :lmao: However, once DS is old enough, I am thinking of starting this with him. I've read on the budget boards, some DISers will go on Ebay and purchase some inexpensive Disney pins for their kids to trade instead of having to buy the expensive ones in the parks. I think this is a great idea!

I also thought of another question for you while I was driving today but I can't remember. Hmmph. Like I said, brain is not engaged.

I totally understand! I was so out of it yesterday being worried about DS. I feel like I'm just regaining normal cognitive functions. :rotfl2:

Whenever you think of it, feel free to post! :)

Finding Nemo is my comfort movie! My DF works overnight and if I freak myself out in the middle of the night that is the movie I put on. :rotfl:

I am so happy I found the Dis boards. It's so nice to talk to people who love Disney just as much as I do, not many people TRULY understand!

Let me know as soon as you do, I am totally excited to read it! :woohoo:

I will, maybe tonight or tomorrow. I just wish I could come up with a witty, engaging title. :lmao:

I have only bought 1 pin from the parks, shocking I know! My last trip was 3 years ago and I have been collecting from ebay ever since. I am not so sure how I am going to feel about actually trading. Do you wear your pins in the parks?

I had to do a BUNCH of wedding stuff today so my brain is fried. :headache: I think it had to do with POFQ, we almost decided to stay there this trip but went with POP instead and since I am ALREADY planning my next next trip...hehehe. I'm sure it will come to me at some point.

That store Basin is at GF?? Am I reading that right??

Crystal Palace is one of my favs also
The food is good (at least it was for breakfast) and the character interaction is terrific.

I want to check out Basin too. I had never heard of it until I starting DISing.
