Will SSR's pool area be as nice as BCV?

Hi!

I'm new to posting to this forum, although I've been lurking for a few weeks now. My DH and I are considering buying either a resale BCV or SSR through Disney.

My main question (for tonight, LOL) is about the pool area. From what I've read, BCV has a fantastic pool area. Do you think SSR will have a comparable swimming area? We have 16 month old twins and I'm sure the pool will be a highlight of our vacations, especially in the 14+ years to come.

Any other ideas about our situation? I appreciate all your help!

Sherri :)

From your post - I don't think you've been to BCV pool area (if you have - sorry to give you info you already know...) The BCV pool area is shared with YC and BC hotel as well - and it's the largest pool on site. I believe it's 3 acres and has a sand bottom, a huge shipwreck slide, as well as smaller slides for younger kids, and the best "kiddie pool" area I've ever seen - with a sand hill that emerges from the water. It is a fantastic pool. I am sure the SSR pool will be really nice, but not the scale of the S&B. I've been to all the DVC resorts, we own at VWL, and I look forward to staying at SSR when it opens. You can't go wrong anywhere you buy in my opinion - but I really loved BCV and with the pool and the walking distance to Epcot - it's tough to beat.

Good luck with your decision!

It seems liek the SSr pool will be similar to AKl's pool, which I love. I think SAB is pretty awesome, but it does have its disadvantages, like being hard to wacth your kids cause it is so twisting and turning. Plus, that really deep section in the lazy river freaks me out. I wish it wasn't there. I've even had dreasm about it. LOL
And not everyoen likes the sand. My oldest got sand in her eyes and the only way she told me she'd go back was if we took her googles. LOl
SSr will ahve a nice size slide, not too big, not too small liek SAB. It will ahve zero depth, perfect for littel ones and even a splash play area. I can't wait to atke the kids there. sounds liek it will be a hit IMO.

Oh, and If I were doing thisng over agagin, I'd have waited and gone with SSR. Can't beat that longer contract date, especiallys ince your littel one is so young. She'll be able to use it with her kids!

We bought at BCV because of SAB (Storm Along Bay, the name of the pool area) and we love it. There is really nothing else quite like and I'm sure there probably won't be again, the number of life guards alone almost makes it cost prohibitive.
However, the pool area at SSR is going to be great, and depending on when you travel you can always book BCV at 7 months (we did for this coming June because of banked OKW points that had to be used). I gotta tell ya, the extra 12 years would be a big draw for me if I was doing it over again. Think about it and continue to ask questions.:D
Good Luck
