I'm headed to WDW April27, 2008. We are hoping to stay in a DVC resort. {If the stars all come together at the right time and this happens...} (now the quetions)

I have read that bellhops will hold groceries for guests until they can chack into their room when they get a grocery delivery from gardengrocer or the like.
Will they hold groceries if you bring them in yourself before you can check in?
We are spending the week before our Disney week on the gulf coast for my nieces wedding. We will already have some groceries, and plan to shop on the way and then return our car rental.

That leads me to another question.

If we (my hubby) returns our car rental to the Orlando Airport can we use the Magical Express service to travel back to Disney? We plan to use to get back to the airport after the vacation.

Thanks for everyones help!:flower3:

You don't have to return the rental to the airport. Just about all the big car rentals companies have "stores" on WDW property.

I don't have a correct answer for your grocery part, but I would imagine that they would. Just make sure your parishable are packed in a cooler would be my guess.

I don't have a list, but some one will. We've used Budget and Avis, both are located in DTD. This past summer, Avis picked me up at WL, drove me to their shop at the Hilton (I think) and I drove the car back to the WL.

We don't use our car while in WDW, but after 6 days of Disney, we need to head to South Florida to unwind a week on the ocean, I pick up the car EARLY on the morning we are supposed to leave. The whole process took less than one hour.

Shades of Green held our groceries and delivered them to our room with our luggage. I would expect that Disney resorts would do the same.

Yes, bell services will hold your groceries for you. They even have refrigerators to hold the perishable stuff.

We've done this a few times, we leave our grocery things with the luggage and they take care of it. Be sure to let them know if anything needs to go in the fridge.

What car rental company are you planning to use? I think pretty much all rental agencies have a location around disney, much easier than driving back to the airport.
Alamo is usually the easiest option, they have a counter/store just outside MK by the gas station and also at the Swan/Dolphin. But as others have said you can also return to many hotels near DTD.

So, if we place an order with Garden Grocer and the food is delivered to the resort before we arrive, bell services can keep the milk, cheese, yogurt, etc. in a refrigerator? That sounds great!

We had a car service pick us up from the airport last year and had a grocery stop along the way. Our check in was early, so our room wasn't ready for several hours. We just checked our luggage and groceries with bell services. We even had cold items and it was no problem. When we got into our room, everything was delivered together. Very convenient!

You'll need to ask Garden Grocer that question. I don't think it's a problem from Disney's perspective, but I believe I heard that Garden Grocer requires you to be present when they deliver. (I may be confusing this with one of the other services. Be sure to ask them when you place the order.)

We have also check-in early and brought groceries. I try to bag them at the Publix so that fridge items are together and freezer items together. When unloading the town car, I just tell the bell services what bag is what and they tag it and take it. I haven't had a problem.

With Garden Grocer you do not need to be present when they deliver. They will leave the groceries with bell services. This happened to us on our recent trip. GG actually arrived two hours before the scheduled time and we were no where near the resort since we had pre-registstered and went off to a park. Just be sure to include the delivery person's gratuity when you order.
