Will resort let you do this?

We will be staying at one of the DTD Marketplace resorts the night before our POR stay. Will POR let us bring our major luggage over the night before and store it for check in the next morning? Also wondering if it's a good idea to pre-check in to see about the room location I'd like to have and leave a surprise gift for my kids.

I'm not sure about the luggage question.

You can't check in until the morning your reservation begins, at 7 a.m. Some have reported being able to check in as early as 6, but I wouldn't try it until 7 or later. Your room likely won't be ready, but you can get your KTTW cards and the CM can give you a general idea of where your room is. They can't give you the room # until the room is ready.

If you're referring to online check-in, it does not determine your room location ahead of time. They can still move you around, even if you have already checked in online. Your won't know your room number until it is ready, so there's no way to know what it is ahead of time.

As for the luggage - I don't see why that would be a problem, especially if you tip accordingly. We would keep bags over night sometimes at a hotel I worked at (not Disney). Although, I don't know how safe I'd feel about leaving my luggage there overnight. At the hotel I worked at, the luggage room was locked and only certain people had access. Not the same at Disney.

I don't know that there will be any strategic advantage for you to leave your bags the night before, however I don't think it would be a problem. You'll still need a small bag to put your pj's and toiletries in and that will need to be checked when you get to the resort to check in the next morning and they may have trouble finding your larger pieces to store them together. I'd just get to the resort when you're ready to head to the parks, have them store all your luggage together, make your requests when you check in, get your park passes and head on out. As was mentioned they won't tell you your room assignment but will text or call you when the room's ready.

I was wondering about this. We are needing to stay one night before check in at AoA. To add one night is $314. We can get 2 rooms at POP for 240 (& see a different resort).

So I was thinking have the shuttle drop us off at AoA to pick up tickets, leave big luggage and then cross the bridge to POP with overnight bag. Then we could hit the park early the next AM and pick up luggage later that day?

Otherwise have shuttle take us to POP. Walk across bridge to get tickets (unless we can get them at PoP?) Then back across bridge. Then in the morning back across bridge with all luggage, check in, leave luggage and finally head out to park.

Unless the price of rental cars drops...then it won't really matter cause we would just leave luggage in car overnight.

Any feedback? :confused3

I think that sounds like a great idea, especially since you need to pick up your park tickets at AoA.

I suppose there is a chance that they would not hold your luggage, but I cannot imagine why they wouldn't. They transfer luggage all the time for guests, so why not hold it overnight? Especially since you are a Disney resort guest that night anyway!

By shuttles sonyou mean magical express? That will only drop you off at the resort you have a reservation for that day. You should be able to pick up any tickets at pop. I am assuming you are staying room only one might at pop and package at aoa. The next day check with bell services they will transfer your luggage for you.

Assuming when you say "shuttle", you are referring to Magical Express, it would only work if the ME bus you are riding on includes both resorts. ME takes you to the resort at your initial resort, you cannot pick and choose.

I stay at POR every year, arriving the Saturday after Thanksgiving and believe it or not, I have run about 50/50 that POFQ and POR were on the same bus. One year, we were on the first stop with BC, YC, and BW. Yikes.

You could check in at Pop and run your bags over via taxi.

For the person that revived this thread (not the OP):

If you are arriving on DME, you won't have the option to be dropped off at AoA. You can have Disney tranfer your bags form Pop to AoA the next day. I believe you have to go to a park guest relations to pick up your tickets before your package starts, so you wouldn't be able to get them at AoA anyway.

What I would do is pack your first night necessities in a seperate bag. When DME drops you at Pop, leave everything except that bag w/ Luggage Services. The next morning, head back to Luggage Services and have the bag transfer set up, then you can walk across the bridge and check in at AoA.

No- private shuttle from Sanford. I wish the ME was available. I would even rather pay for ME from Sanford!!

You can pick up your park tickets up to 3 days early, but it has to be done at Guest Relations at a park or DTD. The ticket sticky explains the procedure in post 15I:

If you have the dining plan on your AoA reservation you will not be able to access those credits until you check into AoA the next morning.
