Will Rainforest Cafe x2 be too much?

I earned in Gift Cards to Rainforest Cafe from MyPoints & to save $$ decided we'd spend two meals here (a lunch at AK's and a dinner at DTD's) Recalling the one and only time I've eaten in a RC, I remember the storm going off on a timed basis (not bad) and the apes going nuts (this part started to bother me when we had lunch at AK's RC last time)

I'm thinking the apes hollaring will drive me nuts the second time around on a single trip. So a question to anyone who may know: Are both Rainforest Cafes set up the same inside?

Thanks!

Yes both RFC are set up the same. I wouldn't eat here twice in one trip, but simply because I don't like the food that much. We don't even go to RFC on our couples trips but when Dneice comes she insists. She doesn't care about the food, just the show. We go for breakfast because the food is better than lunch or dinner

Yep they are. But you can ask to be seated away from them maybe? I dunno, we love it there......VVVOOOLLLLCCAAAANNOOOOOOO! :cool1:

The menu and theming is going to be the same - the thunderstorms take place every 20 minutes. Each RFC has one specific item that makes it unique from the others. As an example the one in Niagara Falls have a huge shark tank that the other RFC do not. I don't remember what was unique at DTD and I haven't been to the one at AK. I do think the one in DTD is the nicest of all the RFC I have been to.

If you want to eat here to save money I suggest eating at the one near AK for lunch and then do the DTD for dinner. I'm sure you will be able to find something on their menu it is rather extensive. My daughter loves to eat here and it wouldn't kill us to eat there twice during a single trip.

BTW - the AK RFC takes reservations through CR but not the one at DTD.

I would recommend changing your AK meal to breakfast! They do a wonderful breakfast - yummy french toast, thick crisp bacon and fantastic coffee!

We are planning to eat at the RFC at DD this year, not for the food but the theme. when i went to Disneyland Paris last year and went to the RFC there, we had the funniest meal ever (we were seating by an elephant whose trunk was over our table so about every 20 mins it moved and made noises).

We're going for the experience for the kids. I've eaten at a few in other parts of the country but my kids have never been. I'm not big on chain restaurants of any kind (find the food to be a bit uninventive, but I'm a "foodie" who lives in New Orleans - TONS of really great locally owned restaurants). I don't really like to eat at TGIFriday's, Chili's, Applebees, Outback ... etc. I put RFC, Planet Hollywood, Hard Rock, etc into the same "chain" category. BUT ... I know that my kids will love the atmosphere and I don't find it too irritating.

If it fit in our travel plans (AND I had a gift certificate) I would sit through it twice for my kids - I agree with gems_smiling. It is about the theme, and I can find something to eat that isn't terrible. ;)
