Will our tickets really expire?

My nephew and I had planned a WDW trip spring break 2020. We purchased and linked 7 day park hoppers from UT. Then the axis of the earth wobbled and WDW closed. The tickets were dated, in the demand pricing sense. I optimistically pushed them forward to August 2020. I revisited MDE this weekend. Under Tickets it shows them valid August 2020 until September 2021.

We are hoping to go Spring Break 2022. Will they really lose all value after September '21?

I am listening to "A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" on hold, but wonder what the DIS hive mind thinks.

The tickets will expire but you will be able to use the full price of your original purchase towards the purchase of more tickets.
