It's official guys. I'm hooked. We went twice last year and we're trying out DL in the fall...so I should be good right? Nope. I'm jonesin'.

I just realized that we have enough cash and time off to do a super quick trip from 4/8 - 4/11...so I booked. I know, I know...I'm crazy. Like, certifiable...but I'm in good company, right?

Anyway, if you only had one day in the parks would it be enough to satisfy or tease your obsession?

One day is just a tease. We did 2 days once- one at Mk and one at EP. Especially when you hear about new things opening and whatnot, one day is tease.
We are 1000 miles away so the cost and time of the flight comes into play. Might be different if we were a lot closer.

Yep. We've driven 8 hours on Thursday night, went to the Christmas Party (nothing else, just the party) on Friday night and driven back home Saturday! So much fun!!!!!

Yes...just did it...of course we were coming off a 14 day trip in October/November and then we went for 3 nights in February and just one park day at MK. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the pool at Coronado Springs and did the one day at MK. We got there are rope drop and the park closed at 12pm so we were there all day and night and it was perfect.

I highly recommend that sort of getaway!

Our first visit to WDW was a short 2 night one day at MK. It was all I could get out of my DH when we were on a family vacation to Daytona Beach. He is NOT a disney fan, but I told him that I was not getting that close and not going for at least one day. It was enough to make me happy, but it certainly made me want to come back for more! We live across the country so DL is typically a much cheaper and closer option.

I would personally never do one day because we live too far away. If we were closer, I would totally do it.

While I wouldn't travel all the way to FL for one day (we live in Colorado), we do frequently go to visit family and add on a short Disney trip too.

A common 2-night pattern for us is to arrive at the resort mid-afternoon, have dinner there and swim before an early bedtime. Then a full park day, open to close. Then a leisurely breakfast the next morning at the resort, and head out to visit family.

What I like about these short trips is that you don't have to pace yourself, so you can make that one day really epic. And it definitely helps satisfy the cravings :)

I went down for a very short jaunt a couple of weeks ago because I unexpectedly had a couple days off. I only had 2 park days and even if I'd only had one it would have been worth it. Go!

I love all these responses!!

A bit about our trip: We will be flying Frontier (I am so out of my element as a Southwest girl) so the flight prices are low - $350 total...like, for all three of us...including our bags. On day 1 we'll fly in at 7:00p and settle into AoA (Little Mermaid). Day 2 will be resort-ey stuff. Day 3 will be at MK and on day 4 we fly back at noon.

I think this sounds perfect and it will leave you feeling satisfied!!! I say that because even though you'll only be at the parks for one day you will be on Disney property doing Disney things for more than that one day! I hope you have a blast!

I grew up doing one day trips to Disneyland. To make it satisfying, choose one park and make a realistic plan of what you exactly want to get done and don't expect to do any more than that. Anything extra you squeeze in will be a bonus.

I have to say... Sounds like a plan! We had a great time just Sun-Tues So four days would be a great time.

Just a quick FYI -

After going back and forth...and back...and forth, we went ahead and booked our trip for April 8th - 11th...ON APRIL 7TH!! Disney was great at setting me all up for our last minute reservation and scheduling Magical Express. We ended up booking a package with dining and the minimum ticket purchase is for two days so we ended up in the parks twice.

We had an absolute blast! My husband couldn't go so it ended up just being my 3 year old and myself. I broke every rule I have for Disney vacations: no giant luggage packed with everything known to man, no prebooked ADRs, no rope dropping and no scouting out fastpasses. We still took mid-day breaks but it was to swim instead of napping. Both days DS would pass out AS SOON as we got to the park but that just meant that I got to actually watch the performers on Main Street instead of running by them to get to a FP+ or ADR. We got to see, and do, everything that we wanted and so much more!! My son doesn't care much for parades or the castle shows so we took advantage of the low wait times as well as closed down the parks both nights. I have to say, the after 10 pm crowds may be even better than the before 11 am crowds!!

On the bus home I asked DS, "What was your favorite part?" and he said "All my parts, mommy." Heart = melted. My favorite part was accidently ending up on Astro Orbiter during Wishes. Breathtaking....and maybe a little tear inducing but that was just from the wind, right?

Side note - April weather is perfect. Like seriously perfect. It was warm enough to swim (I said SWIM...not get out...that part was freezing) yet cool enough to not get all sweaty and gross. It was crazy seeing people donning jackets instead of misting fans.

In conclusion, yes. This short little trip was totally perfect for satisfying my obsession...for now. :smickey:

One three occasions (once at WDW and twice for DL) I was on business trip and paid extra hotel day myself to extend trip by one day to visit a park (MK). Since I was already in the area, and with airfare paid, I took advantage and yes enjoyed a full day in a park from opening to close. But if I was traveling myself to WDW or DL would have to be minimum of 3 full park days to make the effort and cost worthwhile, still realizing that I would not be able to get the full complete experience, especially at WDW, in only three days.
