Not sure which watch to wear - i LOVE one particular watch a lot and wanted to wear it thru my trip, BUT it is not the "water resistant 165 feet" type-
it's goldtone bracelet watch w/ "diamonds" (Crystals" lined around face.
I don't believe this watch is water resistant and am afraid that it
will get splashed and then get foggy/ or ruined ...:faint:
(it's only $40...but i love it) :cutie:

we will be going on these rides, DO YOU THINK THESE RIDES WILL
RUIN MY WATCH?
1. Pirates of Carrbbean :boat:
2. Maelstrom :boat:
3. Khali River Rapids
4. Earthquake/tour @ MGM
5. Terminator 3D
6. It's tough to be a bug (dunno if they splash water)

can't remember the rest.......:scratchin:

I ALSO WANT TO WEAR MY THICK GOLD BRACELET THAT IS VERY DURABLE.
MY CONCERN IS THAT MY SILVER WATCH THAT IS WATER RESISTANT
WILL LOOK STUPID W/ IT =... HELP!

Some people will think this is silly but I have the same dilemma.
I have an adaorable Mickey watch w/ crystals and gold and silver tone bracelet type band. Really cute but not waterproof.
My other watch is a pretty expensive real gold and diamond watch. Sure enough waterproof and it goes w/ everything but I am afraid of damaging the cystal somehow.
I am still not sure which one I am bringing next month.

We always leave the watches at home. We're on vacation we don't need to keep serious track of time (and our cell phones have the time on them). Also, we don't like the tan line.
That being said, wear the one you're comfortable with. If you're really worried on a wet ride take the watch off and put it in a pocket/purse/fanny pack whatever.

I collect Disney watches & I love to wear them everywhere - I have worn my favorites in WDW & on all the rides you listed & most of them are not water resistant. As long as my wrist is not submerged, I've never had a problem.

I didn't fill in your poll, but I'd like to share what I do when I'm travelling:

I go to the dollar store and buy a $1 watches. They're usually plastic and digital but if it gets broken/lost/ruined by water, it's easily replaceable. I usually bring 2-3 on a trip.

For under $5 I can wear a watch and not worry about it going on Kali/Splash/water park.

Just a thought.

I agree with Oogieboogie - I buy a cheap watch to take, that way it doesn't matter what happens to it. Even so, I've never had any problems with the cheap watch on water rides...although if you do take your favorite, the only ride I would take it off for is the river rapids at AK. You come off that ride looking like you swam in the river instead of rode...

I would go to Wal-mart and buy a cheapie watch of some kind. They have many that are under $10. Then, if it gets ruined, you can just toss it.

I would never wear my "nice" jewelry to the parks. There is just too much risk of damage.

Will these rides ruin your watch:

1. POC: No
2. Maelstrom: No
3. Kali: Possibly
4. Earthquake: Don't know; never been to Universal
5. Terminator: Don't know; never been to Universal
6. It's Tough to be a Bug: No

I never wear a watch, but I know many who feel naked without one.

I think i might wear that gold watch i told u about because I LOVE IT SO MUCH!
it makes me VERY HAPPY to look down and see how pretty it is w/ the bracelet.....

i guess i'll take it off on Khali River Rapids.....
