Will my neighbors like CBR?

We are going in Oct, staying at POR, and booked a while back. Then, our neighbors decided they wanted to go with us, so they tried getting POR this past weekend, and they were all booked for Oct 2-9. So, they ended up reserving CBR, as it is supposedly somewhat close to POR.

I have never been to CBR. Will they enjoy it? Should they think about switching to something else? I think they were really trying to stay at a mod, but they might consider a deluxe.

What do you think? Stay at CBR, or switch to something else? They are a family of 5 (DH, DW, 8 yr old DD, 4 yr old DS, 2 yr old DD).

Thanks,
Andy

Did they try at POFQ? CBR is a 5 to 10 minute drive from POR. My family likes POR better than CBR.

Yeah, They tried POR and POFQ, were told both were booked. They are doing the free dining, so I don't know if there are only so many rooms allowed with the free dining or what. I was kind of shocked that they would be booked for Oct already...

Wondering if maybe they should request a different moderate, or maybe go up to a deluxe...

That's freaky that they're all booked for October, it's normally quiet then! Did they try booking without the dining experience, just to see what happens? Weird! CBR's not that close, can they try a studio in OKW? That's right next door...

Can they stay at OKW if they are not DVC members? This will be their first trip to WDW...Also, assuming they could stay there, would they still be eligible for the free dining?

Okay, so nobody seems too thrilled with CBR, which makes me nervous. This being their first trip to WDW, I don't want them to be disappointed with the resort. What do you all recommend? I believe they have to have everything finalized by tomorrow, so we are running out of time...

Thanks,
Andy

CBR is a great resort! 5 minutes is a good estimate of the distance between them. It's only one turn to get there. There is a short cut by taking Community Drive. Look for it on the map they give you at check in.

CBR is a great place to stay. You might want to check out the FAQ's listed below. Also if you do a search you will find many satisfied people that have stayed at CBR. We have stayed at all the mods and find CBR our favorite.

CBR is my wife and I's favorite moderate. We enjoy it for some of the most popular reasons for hating it LOL. It is so spacious that depending on your building you might have close to a 15 minute walk to get to the amenities. It is a very beautiful and relaxing resort and the island decor on the long paths is food for your soul.

If you are not a walker you may not enjoy this resort, if you are you will love it.

Okay, good to hear the CBR fans speak up. I feel better now. We'll let em roll with CBR, and hopefully everythign turns out fine. Thanks for all of the advice.

DW and I just got back from CBR . We stayed , with no kids, for our 25th anniversary..

It was a fabulous resort with good sized rooms and excellent theming. It has become our new favorite moderate. IMHO it was in a great location, we thought it was close to just about everything.
