I was just wondering if I should also order a desert or if this will double as a meal and desert because of how it was made and it does looks pretty big to me.

Oh man. I guess everyone is different, but I find the MC to be VERY filling, simply because it's so rich and greasy. I can usually only eat two of the four slices when it comes and have to share. If you can, I suggest you share the sandwich, then share some beignets or the yummy banana bread pudding I got last time I was there :)

My teenager and I always split them. There have been days where one of us will think we're hungry enough for the whole thing and still end up with a container to go.

Probably, since it is the heaviest meal in the park.

Add in the starter salad or jambalaya that it automatically comes with, it definitely fills you up! So good though! Just don't go on Pirates directly afterward, because you'll probably fall asleep!

Is it true theres a $4 plate charge for sharing? I want to try this and share with dh but dont want to pay for a plate charge. DD wont like anything at the cafe that sells it cant think of the name. Blue bayou is outta budget for us.

I am 300 lbs and cannot finish a plate with pomme frites. Me and my wife split a plate along with Gumbo, and Pomme Frites and we get full for half the day(but we also have beignets as well). We get them at Cafe Orleans so I don't know about a plate fee.

Looking at the menu's, Cafe Orleans has the $4 plate charge where as the Blue Bayou has a $12 plate charge, when we went they did charge it if you tell them you want to split it.

ive never asked for another plate, but why do you need one if your sharing with someone? just grab it off there plate and save your bucks :woohoo:

I was thinking that-lol! I figure if we sit outside or ask for it to go. My dd will get chicken nuggets or strips from somewhere else. I was thinking of getting a soup in a bowl from a different place and thought we could meet dh and eat together.

Dh and I have delux passes and dd has a premium pass do we get 10% off our meal?

My teen boys who could eat a horse couldn't finish one between them. One ordered the fries, the other the MC. They then shared both with no split plate charge.

I believe you would get the discount for whatever card you gave them. Can't see why you couldn't give them DDs.

The Monte Cristo is amazing! I can never finish the dang thing and I'm a big guy.

The split plate charge exists because when you inform them when ordering of the intention to split, they bring each person a full serving of the side dishes that come with it. If you don't want the extra sides, don't mention the split, and it's no big deal.

My DD and I split it. She ordered the sandwich and I ordered a cup of gumbo. There was a basket of pommes frites shared between the 6 of us at the table. DD & I shared the one serving of fruit that came with the sandwich. She was able to finish half the sandwich & I could only handle 1/4. The remaining 1/4 was shared between DH & DS. It's VERY filling, especially if you are ordering soups, salads, or appetizers.

anyone have pictices of the Pomme Frites and beignets. I have no idea what these are but cruious after reading in this thread

The split plate charge is only if you both want a full serving of the sides. My husband and I always order 1 and ask for an extra plate. There is no charge that way.

One Monte Cristo w/ pomme frittes will fill us both up and my husband can REALLY eat a lot. :lmao:

Wow, this all looks yummy! And, yes very filling. Where are all of these things served? Thinking Cafe Orleans and Blue Bayou? Are there any counter services that serve any of the 3 - pomme frites, Monte Cristo or beignets?

We have shellfish allergies and would have to be sure that they deep fry any of these items in seafood/shellfish-free oils only. Even the cross frying can cause an allergic reaction ... not fun!!!!

We only do CO and have never had a split charge. I keep wanting to do BB again but as neither restaurant has anything the 6 year old will eat, we end up getting him a corn dog from Stage Coach while we're waiting for our meal to come out. I do order a remoulade for each of us for the pomme frites.

Here are pictures of the pommes frites and beignets. I also included pictures of the salmon salad (super yummy and refreshing) and the gumbo in case you wanted to see those as well :thumbsup2 Also, I apologize for pictures being different sizes as I had uploaded them at different times and resized some of them.

Thank you for the pictures. DH said he wants to try the gumbo. We've never had gumbo before. Are the beignets sweet? What are the sauces it comes with?
