We are three family's camping at the Fort in Aug. Our youngest daughter decided it would be easier to do a resort. (Her hubby doesn't like camping). Once we get to FW we never really move our car so if we let her take it to AoA and put one of her kids on our reservation will they be able to come back into FW? Will their key card open the gate?

If your daughter's hubby doesn't like wants to do a resort why not stay at the Ft Wilderness Cabins. That way he doesn't have to camp and you all get to enjoy Ft Wilderness.

I'm 99% sure that the kids cards will open the gate...I believe we used DS's card on our previous trip.

But I'm with Jayhawk - see if you can get them to stay at the cabins. Speaking from experience here, staying at different resorts can be a big pain in the rear. If you do end up staying at different resorts, I'd highly recommend meeting up at whatever park, restaurant, DTD, etc. as much as possible and not messing around waiting for everyone to gather before setting off to your destination.

I did suggest the cabins but they have 5 kids and the cabins only have one bathroom. The two older boys will most likely stay with us and my other daughter most of the time. They want to stay at the new Art of Animation.

I agree on the meeting up. I have 0 patients. When I'm ready to go to the parks, I'm ready. LOL. We will do a few dinners together at the campground. Just want to be certain she will be able to drive in. But I will still push for the cabin.

A key card issued to a kid listed as staying at the Fort will open the gate.
