I want to dress up as a belly dancer, modest but my stomach and upper chest would be showing. I am going to try to copy the jasmine costume but dress it up a bit.

Would my stomach showing and shoulder offend young children or the moms? I don't want to be asked to leave and am trying to keep the outfit modest but skin will show.

What do you think?

not me... but pretty much as long as I dont see pubic hair I am pretty comfortable with whatever.

Being a bellydancer and having taken my kids to belly dance shows its just dance and just human bodies so what :thumbsup2

I say WEAR IT!!! :thumbsup2 Its a costume and you shouldn't worry about what anyone else thinks since you say its modest. Most people can't pull wearing a costume like that off, so more power to ya! I might go as a gypsy or something. Still trying to decide... :rolleyes1 :goodvibes

Jasmin and the Ariel don't offend the children, so why should you? Go for it and have fun. :cool1:

I say go for it! The only question I have is - Are you wearing it for MNSSHP? If you aren't and it is just to wear in the parks they may not let you in like that. I asked this question a while back and was told that adults are not allowed to dress up as characters. Since you will be wearing a Jasmine costume you might have a problem. Anyone know for sure? :confused3 princess:

WEAR IT PROUDLY! I'm a mom and I know my kids nor I would be offended!

Are you wearing it for MNSSHP? Lots of adults/people dress up at Halloween parties. Have fun.

Nope, wouldn't offend us, and we're a mostly "modestly dressing" kind of family. If I were thin enough- I'd wear something like that to MNSSHP myself, but those days are many cheesecakes ago.

Julie

BTW: It was very thoughtful that you asked- a true show of class IMHO.

You have me :rotfl2: !! Sounds like me!

I say go for it! Dressing up is fun...and if you can pull it off, then more power to ya!! :cheer2:

You won't offend me at all, but my question is............will the kids confuse you for a Disney Jasmine and try to get your autograph with photo? Just wondering......Have a wonderful time :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

If you're concerned about offending, have you considered sewing a skin colored fabric in the belly area? Just a thought.

No Nada, no way!
there are way worse things one witnesses in the World (think water fountain as a baby bidet, people urinating whenever and wherever nature calls, adults hitting children) I say GO FOR IT and have fun! party:

I agree and I am considered a fairly conservative gal! I think that a halloween costume is the one scenaria where it is o.k. for a girl over a certain age to show her tummy.

Nope, you won't offend me! I hope you will pardon my husband for staring, though. :lmao:

No problems from me.

Slightly off/on topic......
I can tell ya, however that the UK "FCUK" shirts are banned in WDW, and those DO offend me. (Despite the arguments, they ARE sexual innuendos, and Disney agrees) I watched Disney Security tell a man he couldnt enter the parks with one of them on.
