Will I need to check in at front desk if I don't use smart phone?

How will I open my villa door? Will I need to go to front desk to get a card, like the "old days"? Is there any other reason I would need to check in at front desk since I don't use a smart phone?

Lots of people use a smart phone but don't find it helpful as a room key.
We prefer to be hands free as much as possible and use our magic bands.
You can always get a card as backup.

My magic band worked in August and it was at least 2 years old since last usage. I think you should be fine unless it's deactivated for some reason.

As long as its not deactivated it'll work. Mine still works from 3-4 years ago. No need for a hard card if you still have the MB.

THank you. Yes, mine is older than that. I quit getting them every trip about 4 years ago, or more. I read that even the early first ones should work for passive use. Only the "active" won't work, like Small World showing your name as you leave and stuff like that. I don't know if that is true, but hope so.

Ride photos as well will occasionally stop reading. It's because the power drains and the range on the chip goes to basically 1-2 inches.

If you're concerned about that, I just posted a trip review using magic mobile. It ended up working pretty well to replace the magic band.

I will say I noticed a few photopass ride pics didn't work out, but it was ok for me.
