We are tent camping @ FW 10/31-11/5

I am going crazy wondering if I should bring the a/c for my tent or not. The weather channel has it as pretty cool 85/65 over the next 10 days. But I actually lived in Orlando for a few years about a decade ago ( I know - but that was before my dis craziness) and I honestly don't ever remember it feeling all that cool ... except maybe a few days in January. I think of Orlando as very HOT! I know part of that is the humidity and another part the bright sun:goodvibes Lets face it, theres 85, and then theres 85, kwim?

Thing is we have a toddler who may need tent naps (and dh and I really need a vacation so napping is sounding good to us, too). Plus we'll surely need to change during the day, etc. I'd like the option of hanging out in the tent. BUT of we could be comfy with just a fan that would be great because we are driving down from NJ in a very small car with three kids and all of our camping gear:scared1: So obvioulsy we need all the room that we can get. We could run to WalMart and get a cheapo fan once there.

I am just afraid of being so hot that everyone is miserable. What is it really feeling like in Orlando right now???????????? If you were tenting would you want an a/c?

Bring the AC.

It has been unusually cool in central Florida for all of October this year.

So far.

But, that could and probably will change.

Especially if you leave your AC at home.

I was at the Fort last year for Halloween weekend and it was HOT!

90+ degrees hot.

And humid.

It could easily be the same this year.

Hopefully, it will stay nice and cool.

But, as you probably remember from living in Florida, the weather changes often this time of year.

Bring you A/C. I can't remember a year when we spent Halloween week at the Fort that it didn't get nice and toasty during the mid-afternoon. And, in Orlando, you can't count on it being breezy. I wasn't there last Halloween when it got quite cool during the winter, but the historical odds are against you not having A/C.

We were there this past weekend and it was beautiful, but we were in tshirts and shorts by noon and the people that we saw wearing jeans and longsleeves were melting.

Having said all that, we like it cool......especially when we sleep. You should be decently cool at night, but don't count on a cool tent during the day.

I'd better bring it - I don't want to be the one the bring on a Halloween heat wave by leaving my a/c home;)

Thanks for the advice - we'll definitely pack it along:goodvibes

Bring it! I too have been there this time a year and had temperatures from 25-95. Better to be prepared than not!

We are here now. First night ac off. Right now windows are open. I don't think we will need it. But it is Florida! It's supposed to warm up by weeks end and then drop again.
