Just wondering if anyone knows, on average, how cool it gets in the evenings in May? I will be wearing a strapless gown and my mum thinks it might be a good idea to have a cozy wrap on hand in case I get cold... Were any other brides cold at their dessert parties??

I don't think you will need a wrap in May in Orlando. It's very warm by then. But just in case you want to double check, you should look up the average temps for Orlando on weatherchannel.com. :sunny:

I think you should be ok. It was reasonably warm in the evening whilst we were there in February/March this year, so I would have thought May to be a lot warmer.
I have been in April before, and it was very warm at night.

We went to DW this past May (3rd - 8th) and the evenings were definately warm. Actually, it was during that trip that DF proposed. I never thought once about having something to cover my shoulders. It was the kind of warm that is relaxing, not hot or humid. It was a beautiful time to go. The only time when I might have wanted a wrap was if I spent time on the water, so if you're considering a Wishes Cruise, you might want one for that. The one night when we took the Riverboat back from DD to POFQ I needed to snuggle up to DF.

You wont need a wrap for the weather outside but you might need one for the A/C inside ....it gets so cold in some restaurants.....i always laugh that i need a light jacket for the A/C in June....but i get cold easily.....we had most of our wedding outside in may...late night...and I didn’t need anything but i didn’t stop dancing all night... some of my guests did bring something for the ballroom......

I was there in May - there was one rainy day that I wore carpis and a hoodie/sweatshirt zip but other than that it was beautiful in the evenings too I think you should be just fine...but you never know.

Actually I had one for the evening in May and I was glad I did. It was a breezy day and whilst we were all thankful for the breeze during the ceremony at the Yacht Club Gazebo later on that evening and being close to the lagoon at UK lower I found I was grateful for the wrap. It also added a different look to the photos that night as I let Paul take his tie off LOL

I know that May nights can be warm but I did find with the breeze it was cooler and bearing in mind that I felt hot for most of the day having the wrap I think may have protected me from "not feeling the cold" LOL does that make any sense?

I really doubt it. I would think you may want one if you are inside and it is too air conditioned to you, but not outside.

I was warm, it was a bit muggy the evening of my party. Get one maybe just in case?

It doesn't get cool in Florida in May... :rotfl2:

Welcome to hot, humid, & muggy! :sunny:

My entire family is from Florida and I pretty much spent two months a year of my childhood there. I am from NC, so I'm use to the hot south weather! I forget that other people may have never been to Florida. I love getting asked "Is it always this hot?" "Does it always rain this much?" when we're in WDW.

Yes...Yes it does! :beach:

Gotta love the heat and the Florida afternoon showers! :teeth:

I have spent Thanksgiving and Christmas in Florida wearing shorts. :teeth:

It depends on what you're used to, and if you get cold easily. Like Fairy_Tale_Bride said, I've spent Christmas in shorts down here. I do get cold indoors with the A/C so I usually bring a sweater to a restaurant or the movies, but in general May is HOT. I went to NY in May a couple years ago and it was 55 degrees - I froze! I had to buy a jacket! It's not like that in FL, May is Summer down here. If you can get a wrap that matches your dress, go for it, if nothing else it will look great in pictures, but I seriously doubt you'll need it for the weather.

While it is very HOT in Florida in the summers, it definitely can be a lot cooler indoors, especially at night! I'd get a wrap, just in case. When I'm down at Disney, I always pack a light jacket or a long sleeved t-shirt to throw on if it's freezing indoors, or later at night--which it can be!
