Will I have trouble using DME if I have two separate reservations

I am thinking of booking 7 night with a dining package. Since on my last day I would like to leave for the airport in the middle of the day after sleeping in till about 11am. I figured I would book our last night as a room only reservation so that I did not waste my dining plan dollars on a day I would be leaving at 11 am or noon to go to the airport.

Anyway..... since I have one 7 day package and then 1 night with a separate ressie will that mess up my DME privileges. Will I have a hard time getting on the bus after the room only night as they may have been expecting me at the end of the 7 day package. Do I have to call someone to clarify my departure date.?

You should have no problem whatsoever doing DME with two ressie #s. Just have it set up when you make your bookings and have them make sure that both ressie #s are conmnected to DME. Lots of ppl change resorts mid-stay, and DME manages to take care of them on both ends just fine. On our October trip, we stared in a 1BR then moved to a 2BR after the first night (and changed ressie #s a few weeks out, just to make things more interesting). DME accommodated us beautifully and without a hitch.

Here is how your "magical express" situation will go. 1) you'll be lucky to evne recieve your luggage tags 2) when you don't you'll call only to be told "don't worry about it, we'll take care of it" 3) you'll get there, be greeted and swept on the bus 4) you'll be thinking "boy, this Daitcher guy is off his rocker, this is great!" 5) you'll procede to wait on the bus for an hour before leaving, it is getting less magical 6) you'll leave for the resort only to realize you'll be stopping at all of the resorts. 2 hours later you'll get to yours. 7) "where is my luggage , I arrived 3 hours ago?" 8) " I should have listened to Daitcher."


Skip the ME and save yourself losing your first day of vacation and possibly your luggage. Vacation time is money, who wants to lose 3 hours plus of your time? This program is riddled with problems right now. It has gotten better but still stinks. Buy yourself some peace of mind, rent a car.

Hi, We also had no problem using DME with two reservations. Well before we left, we made sure the info on the reservations were correct for each leg of DME. All went well. Wouldn't hesitate to do that again.

We used DME with two reservations last summer and had no problems.

Just try to see that the ME information for your trip to Disney is squared away.

It is a no-brainer to modify the ME information for going home, if needed, after you arrive in Orlando or even after you get to the resort. (At least a day before checking out.)
