Will I have to check my DSLR camera in a locker before riding FJ?

Our idea is to avoid the long locker line, thus we won't be carrying any backpacks/bags to the park, except probably for a small fanny pack (I know, the horror! LOL!) which I know they allow on the ride, and my DSLR camera. However, I'm afraid they will make me check the camera in the locker? Anyone has experienced this?

Thanks so much for your help!

How are you carrying it around? They will not allow any loose articles. Once you ride, you'll understand why.

Camera neck strap.

I don't think that'll work. I've taken my basic camera before, but it was in a zipper-enclosed case that was attached to me with a belt loop.

You wouldn't want to try and take pics during the ride anyway--there's a good chance you'd lose it. You can take your camera in the Castle Tour queue if you want pics of the castle interior.

You won't be allowed to take the DSL camera on a neck strap. There is a ton of movement in those vehicles.

Now that you mention this, I'm pretty sure my camera case has a belt loop ... I wonder if it will be too bulky to carry it in my belt during the ride?

Oh no, I wasn't even thinking of taking pics during the ride! I just wanted to take pictures inside the castle while waiting in line. Just trying to avoid the locker line or doing the castle tour for pics later.

Can't help you there, sorry.

Yes, definitely avoid the locker line if you can, but it sounds like you may not have a choice. Only thing I can think of is maybe renting a locker at the front of the park--those are no big deal.

As for the Castle Tour, it's easy to use and I've never heard of anyone who had to wait for it. You see 80-90% of the same stuff as the main queue, and can take as many pictures in as much time as you want.

looking at your family picture/avator, maybe you could do a child swap.

have one adult wait with one child and hold the camera, while the other adult and child ride.

when they get off, change places and take your turn holding the camera.

you don't really lose any time utilizing the child swap set up.

it is just a thought.

According to the OPs signature the kids are 9 and 10 and likely going to be riding.

I'm pretty sure you will need to use a locker for the camera...especially if it's bulky. It might interfere with the way the restraints close...which is why carry ons are not allowed in the first place. Plus there would be a chance it could fly off and you don't want to happen.

i realized that but they could still do the child swap so one person can hang on to the camera instead of using a locker.

everyone gets to ride without a delayed wait then.
