Will I fit on the rides?

I have a trip coming in 40 days and I'm really nervous about not fitting on the rides. I'm 5'5, weigh 228 pounds, bust is 44'', waist 42'', hips 48.5", I wear 18W pants, and my shirts are medium/large. I really don't want to do the walk of shame. It breaks my heart whenever I see that happen to somebody. I haven't been on a roller coaster in a while! Please help! Thank you in advance! :)

You may fit snugly on a few of the coasters, but I believe you'll be fine :-)

Do certain rides have larger seats on a certain row? I heard this one time but didn't know if it was true. My son is a big man, 5'10 275 and he is scared he might not fit on Rip R Rocket. Someone said there was a bigger seats on a certain row. Is this true?

Yes, there are modified seats on quite a few of the rides. Hopefully someone who pays better attention than me can remember the rows :)

Rows 3 and 6 are the big boy seats on Dragon Challenge, Hulk (I assume will be the same after refurb) and RRR too........

There are test seat outside these rides.

Mummy can have limitations too......again test seats outside.......we have seen them seat larger people on the back row of Mummy.

Forbidden Journey can be neat, Gringotts seats are better for most people than FJ. Both again have test seats for these rides.

A few of my friends are bigger, but I don't know their exact dimensions. We have yet to have a problem. I want to say my guy friend is somewhere around 250 or a bit over. Somewhere under 300. He has very broad shoulders and a larger chest/belly. A few of the rides did squeeze him a little tight, but he fit just fine. Somehow I ended up in the modified seat on Dragon Challenge. I was trying to make it so he would be there and somehow we got switched. Oops. Everyone is built a little bit different so it all kind of depends. I want to say he's roughly 5'10ish...

I'm 6ft weigh about 245 and my chest is somewhat large I am fine on the rides haven't had a problem yet. All though my husband is about 5"10 and about 300 and he wanted to go on forbidden journey and he was told he couldn't ride it because he was to big. I don't know if that has changed since last year. It was because he was big in the middle his shoulders were to big for the ride he is very broad and wide in the shoulders at least that is my guess I don't know the wait limit for that ride.

My DH is 6'3" and 290 pounds, with very broad shoulders and chest. The only thing he has been unable to ride is Rip Ride Rocket. The others are fine, though he often needs the rows with the modified seats.

That's really interesting, since chest and shoulders have nothing to do with the restraints on RRR.

There's no weight limit; it's just a size thing that is personal to that person's frame. Did he actually go all the way to try to be seated? They are often able to fit someone when it was a "no" or "maybe" in the outside test seat. And sometimes it doesn't work; DH has tried twice and it doesn't work for him.

DH has a broad back AND a deep back AND a chest AND a belly AND he's got sumo thighs. The combo means no FJ at this time. Possibly means no Mummy ever, because you have to get legs between the upside-down U shaped restraints. Same for Gringott's but worse because of the inane leg things they added. RRR might be possible someday, once his belly is much much smaller, but maybe not b/c of his thighs. We feel that someday he'll be able to ride Hulk and Dragon Challenge, though, because the restraint combos seem more simple than the others.

Well, at 6'3" tall and 290 pounds, it's not like he's small (or even average sized) in any part of his body . That's why I gave his specific height and weight. He is a BIG guy. And, he didn't fit.

On the other hand, I'm 6'4" and 320 and I fit everything. But, as you can see from my avatar, I'm proportionally big. HRRR I fit in one of the 2 modified rows. The other modified row wasn't even close. So on that one check both test seats. On FJ, I needed to do things just right to get the restraint closed. It took a couple of tries (and even getting pulled off a couple of times) before I got the system down. Fortunately I had a real nice TM take the time at the inside test seat to figure out what I needed to do. For me, I would sit back and get the first click myself, when I would slouch down just a touch to give the shoulders a little more room then the ride op could get it the rest of the way.

Oh I love this thread. I'm 5'6" and just over 250 and I was worried. I'm working on losing weight and realize I might not fit everything, but reading this is a huge relief.

You should be fine, no worries! You'd definitely fit on all the simulators and the water rides. The Mummy will be fine. Rides that have the test seats will have them a little off to the side, and if you get nervous about it, have someone go with you and pose for a pic, or pretend you're taking a selfie while putting the harness on. RRR, Forbidden Journey, Mummy, Gringotts, Dragon Challenge all have them, and Hulk should have it back when it's online.

RRR, Mummy, and Gringotts hit the waist / stomach area for restraints while Forbidden Joirney, Dragon, & Hulk are over shoulder.

One thing I also learned is that there is a stationary platform on Forbidden Journey. Maybe a TM can confirm but I've been told it has the modified end seats; if so, and if you're worried or in the yellow/iffy area on the test seats, you could ask for it if it's available. Supposedly it gives you as much time as you would need to lock the harness so you're not rushed like the moving platform. Never tried it, but have been told about it by guest services.

Great! Thanks so much for all of that info. I also read to have the people you are with do your harness before they hop into their own seats. People who know and love you are not as timid about slamming a harness into your gut and stuffing you in as a park employee might be. Plus it's just less invasive to have someone you know fumbling around with the straps in your lap. That seemed like a good tip too. Is that reasonable?
