I will be going to Orlando August 12- 20

Cast: Me, 23(will be 24 on Aug 19th)
Best friend, 21

I have not been to Orlando since 2000 and last time I only had four "full" days and I was with my parents so I could do "thrill" rides with them. This time I have 7 "full" days and want to go to all four parks, a water park, and both US/IOA. I know it sounds crazy but this is as far as my budget will allow me to stay in orlando and I probably won't have the budget to go within the next two years or so.....just starting grad school in the fall (too many loans to pay off)...anyway, would I be able to do this without going crazy

Aug 12- Drive down from NC, check into off-site hotel

Aug 13- Universal Studios

Aug 14- IOA

Aug 15- Typhoon Lagoon

Aug 16- AK and MGM

Aug 17- day off, spa treatment

Aug 18- Epcot

Aug 19- MK and my birthday

Aug 20- head back home

I know I should leave each disney park one full day or more but this is the most sane plan I have with the time and the money I will have on this trip. I might see if I can do the things I want to do in IOA/US in one day because I have before, and have another day off. Typhoon Lagoon will be a break too because I don't like slides, but I will try them at least once then hang out the rest of the time. As for the others....I am planning to take a break in the middle of the day to cool off and relax.

What do you think??? Am I crazy??? Or is this going to be crazy but fun for two college girls.

Thanks for your input, sorry its so long.

I don't think it's crazy. Of course I am a complete commando at disney.
Just a suggestion.......maybe on your spa day...you might wanna head back to mgm and see some of what you missed. Make it a half day. That way, you won't have to rush thru AK.

I might suggest swapping things around a bit. Since you're staying off site you won't have EE privileges so you may want to avoid the crowds that will already be filling the park by the time you get there.

You're schedule actually hits most of them

16th (Mon) AK
18th (Wed) Epcot
19th (Thur) MK

Since the 19th is your BD, I assume you want to spend it at MK regardless. But maybe you could swap the other two days (and/or move the TL day)

O.....I forgot, On the 15th I will be checking into the Swan, Just couldn't get my Dad's employee discount on all eight nights....That's why the parks are set up on each designated EMH day.

Thanks for the advice.....any more out there;)

Hi twinkles0819,

Drop me a line (testa@ncat.edu) and I'll give you a free touring plan for the AK and MGM. It's going in the next edition of the Unofficial Guide, so any comments you have on it would be welcome.

Sincerely,

Len Testa

Will you die? No way. In fact, you could step it up a notch it you wanted to.

Since you have been there before, you know what you like. Personally, I would only suggest a bit more time at MGM. If you want to see all the shows and experience all the attractions, half a day won't be enough time. Instead of taking a full day off, you might consider a half-day off (if your tickets permit this), and then head to the parks.

What ever you decide, have fun. You will have a great trip!

Your schedule does not sound that bad. I usually cram more into ours and we go several times a year! One suggestion I would make is to go to Epcot or maybe Plaesure Island in the evening of the day you go to Typhoon Lagoon. The water park will not take all day, especially if you don't do the slides.
Have a great time!

You're not crazy - we did all that in 7 days plus Sea World, and we had 3 kids under age 7. We all had a blast and rode every ride and saw almost every show. We got up early and went to bed late - my kids were troopers!

If your budget allows I'd move your spa treatment to the pm on the day you go to TL. I find about 4 hours in a water park is enough for me. That leaves 8/17 for an extra park day. This way you could split up AK and MGM. I realize you probably planned the day off to rest a little from all the running around. Ordinarily I think this is a good idea. However, you and your friend are young and energetic. It sounds like you don't mind running yourself ragged a few days. I think you could probably handle 7 hectic days in a row. Yes, you will be exhausted when it's over. But, you can rest the weekend after you get home. it's just a suggestion.

You are young; have no kids with you; and have no late night activities planned. I think you'll have a ball.

Actually, this plan sounds really nice. I would agree to hit only the rides/attractions that you really want to do, enjoy nice meals if you have the cash to do it, and then you won't feel you miss anything. I think it's ver doable. Personally, I don't think you'll have too much trouble with AK/MGM day. There's not really that much to do at AK for two 20 year olds and I would think you could hit the main things pretty easily by noon or before by going EE . Then use FP for allot of MGM.

I think your schedule is great since you do have some spa and rest time in the middle. It will make the trip much less frantic and more enjoyable,

One sugestion if you could afford it, is to stay in a universal hotel for the FOTL privledges. If you think you want to do both parks in one day and you have FOTL, it is doable, I did that once and not having any waits is great and lets you get a lot done at universal in a short time. If you stay your first night, you;d still have FOTL for the next day.

You may also want to plan for a downtown disney shopping night- maybe your TL day? I always end up spending some time and money there.
