Will I be OK with jeans?

While I have never been to Yachtsman's Steakhouse, I wore jeans and a nice blouse to Flying Fish Cafe and to Narcoossee's and did not feel out of place. There were plenty of people at both locations in what I would consider theme park attire, baseball caps and all. Hope that Helps :thumbsup2

I usually try for black pants (we go in december) and a nice top for Yachtsman, but a nice blouse/top and nice jeans should be just fine. Like previous poster said, you'll see quite a range of outfits. ;)

I go to the Yachtsman a few times a year - shorts I haven't seen while there and I have noticed the later the reservation the more dressed up people are. I usually go with dress pants or a skirt with a nice top.

Have a great time!

Disney dress code allows you to wear jeans. I, personally would feel underdresssed and would not wear jeans.

It depends on the style. If they are nice looking jeans w/out being either too tight or too baggy, and preferably a dark wash, you'll be all set.

I agree with Queenie. I wore dark dressy type jeans with a fancy schmnancy top that went pretty well together. As long as they aren't holey or baggy you should be fine.

I wore Liz Claiborne shorts and DH wore nice Levis and we were fine, they still took our money!

You will be absolutely fine in jeans. When I went I wore nice pants and a nice shirt and I probably should have just worn jeans with the nice shirt because 60% of the people there had on jeans, 30% had on shorts and probably 10% were dressed up.

We wore jeans everywhere on our last visit -- including to Yachtsman's Steakhouse, Narcoossee's, and California Grill.

Sure, some folks will show up wearing suit and tie or a fancy dress, but others will show up wearing much less formal clothing.

The only time I noticed us being out of place was at California Grill on a Saturday night -- when a lot more locals were probably there, rather than theme park guests. That night, probably 80% were wearing something nicer than jeans and a collared shirt/blouse.

At Narcoossee's and Yachtsman's, on the days we were there, the number of people wearing such formal wear was far lower.

DH and I were there 2 years ago on Valentine's Day for an anniversary dinner. DH and I dressed in what would probably be described as business casual. Although many people we dressed nicely, there were a number of groups who came in dressed as if they just returned from one of the parks. So, if you want to wear jeans, I don't think that you will really feel out of place.

Pirate--I thought it was funny too!
And any sort of jeans--as long as they aren't torn--will be just fine!
Same for shorts. Although the code says "dress shorts", almost anything will get you in.

I am so glad to see I will be OK in jeans. I don't want to eat anywhere that feel like I have to dress up. I am on vacation! But, just because I don't dress up does not mean that I don't want a fantastic dinner. So I am glad to hear I will be OK if I am not all dressed up.

"Proper attire is business casual. Please no tank tops, swimming suits or swim suit cover ups, t-shirts, hats, flip-flop style footwear, or torn clothing in the dining room."

One of the reasons I didn't make an ADR for the Yachtsman's Steakhouse was because I found the above description on the menu page on DIS. I felt business casual did not include jeans and I knew my dh would object to having to take business casual clothes on vacation. Maybe one company's definition of "business attire" is not the same as anothers?

MaryannF, it's confusing because WDW recently changed their definition of Business Casual to the following (quoted from WDW's Yachtsman's Steakhouse Page):

"Dress Attire is Business Casual

Men: Dress slacks, jeans, trousers, or dress shorts, t-shirt, short or long-sleeved shirt with a collar required. Jackets are optional.

Ladies: Jeans, skirts, or dress shorts with blouse, t-shirt or sweater, or a dress required.

Not permitted in dining room: tank tops, swimming suits or swim suit cover ups, hats for gentleman, cut offs, or torn clothing of any kind. While t-shirts are now allowed, the policy remains that t-shirts with offensive language and/or graphics are not acceptable."

So go and enjoy Yachtsman's Steakhouse! :)
